the cold was familiar - a reminder of the days, weeks even, the abbiati had spent locked away in the solitary confinement of snowpoint. perhaps this was the family she sought: the dark, empty abyss. for what was she? void of hope, of life... incapable of bearing life, even. how many of her own had she lost? not just her pokemon, but -

- was this it? the last breath she had stubbornly been holding onto escaped her lips, and as darkness enveloped her vision olivia watched those bubbles rise towards the light...

... and she was gone. swift, powerful arms hugged her tight and brought her through the roaring waves. olivia was out of the worse of it, perhaps but... was she breathing? the swampert held her, yes - but was she cold from the time spent under or had she gone under?

+solitude.
+last breath.
+a familiar... feeling?

the sea rose around olivia, prayers drowned out by rushing waves and crashing tides all around her. the salty brine separated the sea witch from her companions - the jelly fish pokemon carried far from his master whilst her cradily barely managed to keep up with the powerful undercurrent below. vespiqueen's regal body washed up on the rocky isle the refugees of lilycove had piled upon.

olivia herself? she was shrouded in the dark, cold empty sea - alone. rebuked by her goddess whom she had dedicated her entire life to: whom demanded sacrifice, who stole away her mother, denied her a family. the sheer shock was enough for the lifelong swimmer to struggle, or perhaps, give up. she had no one, she was no one without her faith... so what now?

as she sunk further, and further into the depths of the ocean to join the fallen, a hymn came to mind. phione, whose heart of purity and light floats atop the heaviest and darkest parts of the sea. a final prayer, olivia thought. or rather, accepted.

like barbarians, they stormed the walls of her temple; created for the chthonic dweller of the depths. like a jaw, it cracked from the combined strength of Kaida Adachi 's pokemon - yet it was the power of the island deity that shattered the ancient stones. a tapu demigod, whose ilk had wrought ruin for hoenn, and olivia specifically. the devious FERNANDO SILPH came to mind at once, with the face of her former gym trainer Balder Schwartz following. there would be little time to ponder such, however.

for olivia was falling once more. the electric terrain that spread across the water's surface was cut just short of frying the sea witch - her jellicent's watchful eyes keeping her best interest in mind as tentacles wrung out to retrieve his master with her feet just barely grazing the energized waves. the worse was yet to come. like a demon revealing its true form, the tapu combined its energies with that of its avatar to land the devastating final blow to her walls.

the walls bellowed for the last time. jellicent brought olivia back above the water where she called to her vespiqueen, with eyes locked on the assailant, "as one." a phantasmal outline bursted forth from the royal bug, just as combee were swatted away. olivia watched in dreaded horror as a thunderous hyper beam was fired out towards her goddess.

olivia screeched, her hand outstretched towards... her fellow queen. she had zipped past the the others to sacrifice herself: for every queen knew that the only being above their own authority, was the one whose divinity they used to claim their right to regality. to sacrifice herself, just as olivia was ready to do, with this sacrifice, the destiny bond was broken - the vespiqueen's shade rushing towards the tapu.

and now, only two queens remained - one who ruled the sea, and the other? alone. her kin vanished into the same nether realm by which her jellicent spawned from. a stone sat in olivia's stomach, tugging on the tentacle entangling her as they neared the goddess once more. "heed my prayer, answer my call!" olivia cried, arms reaching out to the literal force of nature. "be well, and be gone!" she prayed - and from below, her cradily made good on her words.

an iridescent ray shot out from the fossilized pokemon as it pain split the damage and trauma between the two, healing the great goddess and severely damaging the faithful servant. kindness, warmth - it is rare and weak in the violent nature of the sea. where the strong prevailed, and as rule of such a domain, kyogre was no different. a pulse of archaic energy shot out in retaliation, and nearly hit olivia had her jellicent not swung her up atop his back.

"go, save the others. save your city." olivia called towards the others who had attacked, eyes illuminated by the lingering light of her goddess.

her pokemon scattered, the primordial roar and tsunami sending them to the winds - olivia herself? she was falling. vespiqueen was no match for the goddess of the trenches, and as the combee that surrounded the regal bug scattered, so too did their queen. the woman with hair spun of moonlight landed within the swelling waters with a splash; a small, minute sound in comparison to the tidal waves that began to drown out all land.

everything was silent to the mistress of the sea. olivia was pushed and pulled, here and there, by the mighty movements of her goddess. from beneath the water's surface, light erupted into the most sacred and divine acts: one of the true origin, of the sea. it was awe inspiring and at last, olivia gasped.... sucking in a breath of sea water. at that moment, she burst through the waves atop a water spout, curtesy of jellicent who had gone in search of his master.

the chaos around her, or rather the destruction from said chaos, was evident. the ocean was stained ruby from the countless bodies, debris from ships and that craggy rocks were strewn everywhere and - her kin. Celeste Abbiati was there, so close to their shared goddess of death and life. before olivia could get a word in, the attacks continued; yet not from she who dwells. no. it was the insolent fools of the land: league, rocket, even the aliens... it did not matter who they were. now, in this moment? they were heretics.

CEASE.

olivia ordered, her voice coming from atop the enormous pillar of water on which she surveyed the scene. with a wave of her hand, her pokemon acted. from the depths, cradily began to maneuver the chunks of mountain and rock with ancient power to create a makeshift wall between the heretical fools and the abbiati and their goddess. these jagged slabs rose up like a maw of teeth, threatening any who would dare pass. it was not only the threat of earth, but from the sky - vespiqueen returned with a vengeance. hundreds of thousands of combee swarmed around her in an attack order as they surrounded the trio of olivia, celeste, and kyogre.

it was brief, this moment. there would rarely, if ever, be another.

"time it took us, to where the water was - that's what the water gave me!" olivia began to hum, the water spout around her gushing outwards in a bridge of sorts... towards the true queen herself. it was an ominous, eerie song.

"and time goes quicker, between the two of us." she continued, in the light out at sea - it was clear as day this was not the same olivia who had once held political power. adorned in ancient tattoos of her clan, donning traditional garb, and with the water itself gushing around her she appeared almost.. holy.

"the goddess with a bold heart turns every way bringing death to those who would defile the sea, for fate is a cruel mistress... and the bargain must be made!" olivia belted over the roaring waters, nearing closer and closer to the most sacred of the sea - and for the sole person nearby, the only of her kin, she might have noticed the tears swelling.

"hail to you, KYOGRE, sister of the ground-shaker, the virgin who delights in life, child of arceus and silver-gilded moon!" olivia called, inching closer and closer - her jellicent watching nearby as he kept the water spout going.

"lay me down, let the only sound be the overflow... of you first i sing and with you i begin; now that i have begun with you, i end this song..."

"SO MOTE IT BE, IN THE NAME OF KYOGRE - SHE OF THE TRENCHES, OF THE DEEP, MISTRESS OF LIFE AND DEATH."

and with that, olivia was ready to be face to face with her goddess. a bargain has been made, a deal proposed... a sacrifice ready.

+olivia fell off vespiqueen, sunk.
+vespiqueen was blown back.
+olivia barely manages to survive the fall, and sees kyogre rise.
+jellicent uses water spout to lift olivia.
+cradily uses ancient power to block off everyone save for Celeste Abbiati from approaching kyogre any further.

to see a demigod, or rather the daughter of a goddess of her faith, is an honor; yet to see her be used as a tool, is an affront. in that instance, as the scene unraveled into chaos - olivia nearly broke. there was a time she may have destroyed those in her path of her faith. now? now she had to act... for the people.

“repeat - to the east.” she ordered cooly, her words spilling forth as the sea witch herself rode on towards the north pillar. olivia hummed, a mellow melody too soft to be heard in the droning buzz of the vespiqueen. nonetheless, the queen understood her fellow regal, flying towards the phione in the distance.

the water was welcome, if ever briefly, as olivia rose above the ship with vespiqueen. the incoming bug beast were nothing compared to the queen bee - yet as the fleet of trainers came following behind, olivia knew she would no longer be needed.

the mistress of the sea followed in with the ice princess, vespiqueen kept olivia floating above the swarming aliens where an attack order made up of thousands of combee began to flood the ground. jellicent summoned a water spout to attack the brick ultrabeast whilst cradily blasted an energy ball at one of its wobbly legs.

how she hated being at the whim of man, even if the man in question was the delightful guardian of the sea maiden. he had practically rag dolled the silver haired woman onto the boat before giving a vague warning to hold on. hold on to what. and why. regardless, there were other issues at hand - such as her primarina who clung to life. in a flash of red light, the seal Pokemon was recalled to the safety of a poke ball whilst the cannibalistic enemies of war boarded the vessel. out of sheer shock did olivia watch them literally rip into one of the league combatants, consuming his flesh and skin with no remorse.

she slid across the slicked deck, basic wrappings on her feet covered in sea water and blood as she neared the railing, avoiding any of the cannibals as her jellicent and cradily attacked the nihelgo with water spout and ancient power respectively - showering the jelly fish beast in torrential downpours sprinkled with massive boulders. "we should" she began to bark when Alexei Ivanov's warning echoed in her head.

unsure of what would come next, she leapt onto the fellow (vespi)queen and had the royal pokemon summon a mass of combee in an attack order to swarm the megalopians on the ship.

how she had been ensnared by the cursed beast was beyond her - but neither olivia nor her pokemon would allow such an act to go unpunished. tailing behind her fellow queen as she was rescued by Alexei Ivanov, the vespiqueen buzzed with rage - giving commands to her subordinates to save the primarina. jellicent acted first, unleashing a torrent of water spout at the tentacle gripping the singing seal - who in turn, writhed within their trap with a aqua jet; trying desperately to surf across the water spout provided and to safety!

regardless of whether she broke free, vespiqueen unleashed her swarm of combees in an attack order to distract the kraken like beast. olivia mean while, gasping as she nearly relieved being choked out by dahlia goode turned to alexei. "we need to take these ships down.." she grunted, azure eyes glaring in the direction of the enemy ships... and releasing oeroe to fall into the sea.

the crudely acted quickly as she sank to the ocean floor - launching large boulders up with ancient power, and trying to crash into the enemy ships.

so much was happening. olivia kept high above the chaos atop her vespiqueen with yet another defense order resulting in thousands of combee swarming around the queens. down below, her jellicent began to wring out nearby tentacles with its cursed body, whilst primarina blasted every tentacle with an icy wind.

faces arrived en masse, more or less dissolving any plans olivia may have had at a discreet mission. what's more - there was a torrential tidal wave coming for them. aboard the top of her vespiqueen as a defense order went out, olivia hovered a dozen feet or so above the ship and barked, "on the tide." she recalled the cradily in a flash of red light.

primarina climbed atop jellicent and they work in tandem - jellicent summoning a water spout to interfere with the tidal wave and primarina blasting the tide with icy wind. high above, shrouded in a flurry of combee, olivia watched ALEXANDER STONE fly past. she looked below and said flatly, "no vessel of mine will face she of the deep today." to skyler dross.

14. POISON PATROL

olivia was flying overhead petalburg, out of sight from those below with the cloud cover - but there was some kind of commotion that caught her attention. with a swarm of combee obscuring vision of the former queen, olivia flew in closer a top her vespiqueen. sludge? more pollution?

she would not allow it. from the heavens a thunderous BZZZ swept over the field as the two queens coordinated a timely attack of air slash swept over the town to send the sludge back towards its origins.

it had begun. the sky darkened and the sea bellowed, clear signs to the wave watcher that the omen she warned of before departing hoenn was coming to fruition. unlike the others who had swarmed upon the beach from the city proper, olivia had come spilling out from the sewage tunnel north of the beach - hidden behind large boulders as the invaders launched their attacks. she watched the councilman ready a storm of defensive moves and call out to others.

olivia may have been gone, she may lacked her title and power, but this was still her home. "coordinate." she whispered, atop the back of her vespiqueen as they flew out towards the approaching fleet and began to exert her pressure. the hive responded, thousands of tiny combee swarming around their queen in a defense order - shielding and obscuring olivia. they passed over a large vessel stationed just outside the sewer entrance and within range of the approaching demons.

"anemoi, heed my call." olivia prayed before releasing her cradiliy, jellicent, and primarina atop the ship - the latter two sweeping over the sea with a combined ominous and icy wind. meanwhile, the fossilized pokemon ripped free boulders that peeked out from the coast, launching them at the incoming fliers via ancient power.

the witch of the sea and her swarm of bugs hovered near the control panel and steering wheel, the former tumbling forth from the swarm to look over the controls. where there should be... a button to reel in the anchor.

a chance of rain . [ o ]

the mistress of the sea, rider of waves, watch of the waters absolutely detested flying. it was never her forte, and it would seem as the years passed, it never would be. she had been trying to stick to the the cover of the overcast clouds, flying high above atop her neon green pelliper as to avoid being seen. they had been flying for a few hours now and as they passed over the forest that surrounded the city by which she had been trying to get to - their altitude quickly began to descend.

"by the gods." olivia managed before her pelliper suddenly lost the will to fly - more likely was distracted by something down below - and they swan dived towards the ground. a blur of silver and green crash landed upon the clearing with a quickly timed protect enveloping the pair and softening the blow. they skidded across the grassy meadow a dozen or so yards before the bubble of light popped, hitting a tree.

a flurry of leaves and twigs fell upon the former council woman and her ditzy bird type who fluffed her feathers. from above, keeping watch of the two, olivia's oricorio came swooping down with a boosted agility to inspect the damage - all three of them unaware of the going ons across the meadow. groggily, olivia used the tree to steady herself - azure eyes examining the scene.. where were they? outside of fortree, yes - but... was that lane? her vision was still blurry, maybe she was mistaken?

and if she wasn't... well, she prayed he would not recognize her. she was no longer the put together persona hoenn had come to love or hate - now, she resembled that of her home. tattoos adorned her face, simple robes and dressings of the abbiati clan graced her shoulders in shrouds of silver silk, and a sapphire necklace hung around her neck.
