Confused and injured, there was no doubting the fact that the Garchomp was seriously pissed off. Leafae plants his staff into the ground in a bracing animation as the beast snarls its fury and the earth trembles threateningly as it stamps its feet. Lacking the power of a full-on earthquake thanks to its status effect, it still spells out a clear threat for the rangers in the back: end it quickly, or suffer its wrath.[break][break]

"I'll do my best to mitigate whatever damage it does," Florian promises, "though my Life Dew won't help much against an earthquake."[break][break]

Taking advantage of the opening that remained while the beast was struggling with its confusion, the healer activates his Draining Kiss the second it comes off cooldown, doing his best to keep the dragon's ire away from their ranged companions.

Lilligant are notoriously difficult to tend to. Indeed, many who knew the risks of taking such a delicate dame into their care would much rather allow them to live out their lives in the wild as opposed to withering away in captivity.[break][break]

Florian wishes to show the stubborn Pokemon that the companionship of a trainer did not necessarily mean a sacrifice of all her natural beauty and grace. He's done his research. He'll be careful. Should it come to it, and should the Pokemon be truly unhappy, he would return her to the wild where she belonged. But he had to try...[break][break]

So he throws a Pokeball, aiming for a beautifully-coloured specimen the likes of which he'd never seen.[break][break]

Ever the submissive one when it comes to conflict, Florian offers no further objections. He's a little worried about the blonde ranger getting the last-hit and pissing off the party leader but if it comes to that, he'll do his best to mediate.[break][break]

The door opens to reveal a dragon, and the dark-haired Healer grins with a flash of sharp canines. Oh, perfect. As a fairy-type, this is exactly the sort of fight he was made for![break][break]

"Ready!" he affirms.[break][break]

As it's the start of the battle and everyone is at full health thanks to his earlier efforts, the healer takes up a position between their frontline tank and the rangers in the back. He'd usually prefer to keep a bit more distance, but a dragon should be the one to fear him.[break][break]

Twirling his staff, a thread of pink energy blossoms from its tip and swirls around the dragon, pulsing threat. The Draining Kiss saps strength from the beast and, should Leafae have been wounded, would return it to him.

This sword thing was a big deal. The next time Florian stops in the churchyard, there's way more people than last time. It must be catching on.[break][break]

It's been long enough for him to take another shot, and so he skips up to the stone with his avatar beaming.[break][break]

"Good luck everyone!" he calls to those nearby, before gripping the hilt and giving it his best tug.[break][break]

"It's OK!" Florian giggles, his mic picking up on the sound and causing Leafae to perform a laughing animation as well. He twirls, his long hair dancing around him. "I'm not actually mad."[break][break]

He's giddy with excitement, if anything, watching wide-eyed as Alexei sets a rock on fire and then hurls it at the Wobbuffet. Mages really were incredibly flashy and offensive with their spells, weren't they?[break][break]

"I read that if we finish the tutorial, we earn enough currency — I think they're called Metal Coats — to unlock another move if we want! Ooh, I can't wait. I'll probably go for another fairy-type one... oh!:"[break][break]

Detecting that they'd done enough damage to the dummies to be considered competent, the game had spawned their first real enemies: a group of Rattatta swarming in from the left.[break][break]

"Look out!" Florian advises, and Leafae dances forth to send a swirl of Magical Leaves toward their foes.

Florian yelps in surprise as massive shards of ice start to crash down around him, but those that strike his delicate avatar do nothing but cause a little frost to form around the point of impact.[break][break]

"Alexei!" he scolds, though his tone is playful and he's grinning wide. "Watch where you're throwing those!"[break][break]

And, because this is Florian, and he likes to show off, he decides to figure out his final spell even though it won't be of any use to either of them right now: Life Dew. He twirls his staff and then plants it firmly onto the ground, and it begins to rain.[break][break]

... only it's not rain, but sparkling droplets of dew that settle pleasantly on the skin.[break][break]

"It's a healing spell!" he says brightly. "What else can you do?"

He didn't have much use for a sword, but characters of all classes seemed to have gathered in the churchyard for a singular purpose. That probably meant that this was important, right? Was it tied to a quest?[break][break]

He thinks he can spot Alexei Ivanov closer to the stone, but by the time he gets there the man had vanished. Maybe he was imagining things?[break][break]

Nope. Apparently that's what happened when you... uh, failed? Or was disappearing a success?[break][break]

Shrugging, his dainty avatar flutters forth and makes a big show of trying to pull out the sword.[break][break]

"Aw, I don't think you're too tall!" Had this been real life, Florian would have booped him on the nose or something in a teasing gesture, but instead his avatar simply performs idle animations as they talk. He giggles as Alexei wiggles his ears, noticing: "Our ears match!"[break][break]

Of course, he provides an accidental distraction with his Magical Leaf, which thankfully glances harmlessly off his friend.[break][break]

"I think the tutorial is a protected zone!" he reassures Alexei, "b-but I didn't mean to do that, oops."[break][break]

As for what to do now...[break][break]

"I think we're just meant to follow the instructions and test out our moves!"[break][break]

Twirling the knotted wooden staff once more, he presses a button on his controller and a swirling pink energy surroundings the tip of the staff before reaching out to one of the Wobbuffet dummies and seems to pull some kind of essence from it.[break][break]

"I went Fairy... obviously..."[break][break]

He giggles, covering his mouth with a hand.
