Each passing second, the more doubt that grew within himself. The only thing that ever silenced that doubt was pain. It was deafening, it was the only thing now that kept him together. He had to minimize the impact, deny it until it went away. [break][break]

"It's fine. Honestly. If it serves rocket then it isn't a big deal, it's not getting in the way." as he continues to deny and deny and deny. He searches into the ground before some vines emerge slowly from the ground. It was not graceful by any means but he started to fidget his hands together to have the three come together into one. Because regardless of what his response was, he knew it would never happen. He was never going to get Soleil back, he wasn't going to get priam conrad back, and his mental state decayed with each passing second that it remained this way. [break][break]

Yet the only thing he had an infinite source of, was time. Cruel, unending, time. He had already gotten what he had wanted and now he was too addicted to it to let it go. [break][break]

"For you to come back. I can help your standing in rocket, it's not too late Isaac." he says as in a sudden twist. "I'm conflicted, I've never been upset about having to kill a former rocket, not even Remiel Calcifet." he tells him. "Hell, how will they react knowing if they find out we helped you?" he responds as Bryan softens up slightly. [break][break]

Xerneas continues to watch, focusing on bryan rather than Isaac and remaining ever silent.

He pauses for a moment as temp expresses some sentiment of concern, however a surge of emotions rushes through his body. "N-No!" was all that slipped out before he regains his composure and quickly dons his tough man persona again. [break][break]

"No. He can't hear us, I-" he says as he realizes part of him didn't want to answer out of fear of what Xerneas thought. What if he COULD hear him? What if it retaliated against him for it? [break][break]

When did he start to think these types of things? When did he start to fear what Xerneas thought of him? All of the recent opinions he had been hearing over and over again had fertilized the seeds of doubt. Isaac Merlo, Zev Harcourt, elijah gardner's original argument with him. It all coalesced into a cacophony of words that he had enough of hearing. He starts to dig in his pockets looking for a cigarette to cope with the suddenly overload he felt. [break][break]

"My relationship?" he repeats "I uh.I guess an...overseer? A teacher?" he says but in truth he wanted to answer as the realization dawns on him, a means to chain him down. It had been abundantly clear that during his fights in the event dubbed resurfaced treasures, the creature stopped him from fighting when he wanted to continue. "I viewed him as a friend. I guess to him i'd be more like...a child?"

Other failures haunt him as well as @isaac's name is mentioned. "Slippery bastard that one. Isaac. I encountered CIAN MAHER at his gym but within fucking minutes mosquitos descended all around me." he groans. [break][break]

it was an aspect of mint he fucking despised. It made him just want to bare his fangs and dominate mint and force him to submit. But that's exactly what got him into this position in the first place. No, he had to play the long game with him, however Mint was better at social games like this [break][break]

Happy, that's what he wanted to be. Yet sadly, he destroyed what semblance of consistency he had left in his life. "Is this what you want to hear?? What good will me telling you I'm sorry for fucking leading you on for so long do? You knew I wasn't over him yet you kept pushing and pushing." [break][break]

He grew angrier by the moment, residuals of jayden cross's malicious spirit lingering here still. Or was it their recent discussion about Remiel Calcifet that continued to drive him mad?

He remains silent, a fist clenched. Against his will he still assisted Xerneas and Isaac, partially against his will. The land surged with energy as the combined energy of two avatars purged the filth, corruption, and resentment that poisoned the soil of this land. [break][break]

However, what should have been a joyous celebration of life, was instead a parade of conflicting emotions for Bryan. [break][break]

"Yes. I felt it." he responds coldly as Xerneas takes note of his demeanor, unaware of the clenched fist that Bryan hid out of it's piercing gaze. The surge of adrenaline that rushed through him was addicting but his mood was soured by the context of the situation. "Woohoo. Go us." he continues. [break][break]

Xerneas stifles his tongue, for it was rare for Bryan to just talk to someone who had desert the closest thing he could call a family. "Guess now we can just forgive and forget everything right? Yayyy." he says clapping mockingly

He stays silent for the most part. Isaac had already done half of this, something that Xerneas most likely saw as HIS responsibility to maintain the balance. [break][break]

Even if it was not his world directly he felt a love for it as if it were his own. Xerneas looks on at Bryan, sealing off his emotions from Bryan momentarilty as his gaze shifts to the scenery around them. "One thanks you for the hard work you've put into maintaining the balance here." [break][break]

Bryan liked his answer. The answer was right, in his mind bringing glory to rocket and ensuring one's own survival were not mutually exclusive things. [break][break]
