“After the this whole, shabang is done and over.” He answers, looking to Stormy as she reached for the bottle in his hand. As he pulled back, he grabbed Yui’s cup and topped her off with the brew he had in hand, nonchalantly setting it before the girl as he conversed with Stormy.

“I wanna see who these other chumps, that ‘nandy over there invited, are. I haven’t been paling around with the newbies like I should as of late.”

Taking a sip from the sake glass, Kim’s face turns to surprise, a slight smack of his lips signalling his affinity for the drink.

“Oooh, that’s nice.” Kim says as he hands the bottle over to Stormy after having hogged it for so long. “It’s sweet but has a bit of tang to it… Pour me a little more, m’love.”

In the midst of him stuffing some veggies into his mouth, his head is suddenly forced to turn, eyes glowing as they meet Stormy; the councilman quickly downing the mouthful and setting his bowl onto the table, vaulting from his seat to meet Stormy halfway.

“Stormcloud!”

His arms quickly move to wrap around the woman, lifting her into a bearhug in seconds- never minding the bowl and sticks she held onto, soon after setting her down. Kim walks her to a seat next to himself, shooing anyone near to make room for her.

“I ordered some Mareep if you’re interested in that. Otherwise we can get drunk and enjoy the show.”

A waiter soon approaches, bottle in hand; Lum sake set onto the tabletop per Kim’s request.

Kim quickly pops the cork on the bottle, pouring a cupfull for himself before offering stormy the same.

He leans in close for a moment, whispering to Stormy in a hushed tone. “We’ll catch up with each other after this is all done, k?” He smiles, pulling back and offering up the bottle.

“Anyone want some… What is this… Lum sake? This any good Ferny?”

Kim dangles the bottle precariously, holding it out for Fernando to take a gander at.

Turning back to the hotpot, Kim’s eyes land on the creature partaking to her hearts desire. a smile spreading across his lips as he watched Yui snatch whatever she could get her grubby little hands hands on.

“See, this is what it’s all about! Take note of her form: she’s in a dominant stance, feet on seat as her hands move around the hotpot swiftly yet agile, not wasting any of that sweet meat she can get her sticks on.”

Kim stands, overanalyzing the feral child’s movements as she pulled in her haul, careful not to get too close and interrupt this bizarre yet mesmerizing creature. He only pulls back after finishing her analyzation, looking over the girl as he stood.

“I applaud you little gremlin, you are the embodiment of grateful.”

Kim begins to golf clap, only stopping to wipe a stray tear from his cheek before beginning again.

Kim sits silent for a few seconds, taking in the information- the only peep heard from him being the ruffling of a bag and the slight echo of a crunched chip as he sets one into his mouth. After properly swallowing his mouthful, Kim speaks, a breath taken before he does.

“Na…” He pauses, catching his metaphorical footing before he keeps forward. “Mind if I invest in Silph Co. then? I’m sure when things finally decide to go south for Hoenn- Najwa is pregnant- I’ll have a pretty penny to sit back on with your family’s company, right?”

He chuckles, tone unchanging in the midst of his sudden disclosure, creaking in his seat as he furthers on.

“I mean, when I become commissioner for a day and quit right after declaring Hoenn an anarchic province, I’ll need something to fall back on- financially- after claiming asylum in another region. Maybe Galar? It's got a quaint charm to it. Or Johto? They're pretty humble there. Somewhere without so much water would be nice.”

Licking his lips as he packs veggies into his bowl, Kim eyes the others present as he slips the occasional sliver of meat into the mix.

Kim was more than happy to skip out on this event in favor of spending time with Najwa, but the obligation for him to be present at social gatherings- especially one where so many familiar faces would be present- overwhelmed his sense of loyalty.

“Y’all are some wet ass blankets if you ain’t gonna indulge at a hotpot.”

His hand wafts the steam from his bowl up into his face, inhaling gently as he shook his head in satisfaction.

“Smell that? That’s straight up COMRADERY. It’s a GIFT we can sit here, and spend as much of Fern-the man-nando’s cash like it’s nothing.”

His hand waves into the air, calling attention to a waiter.

“I want some sliced Mareep, the best you got to offer. Oh, and the most expensive alcohol you got… whatever that stuff with the “bai” is called. I want Kanto’s FINEST on this table.”

"See, that's the problem, if all the smart ones are either leaving or keeping silent, then the loud ones get to sit in the spotlight as much as they want. So, that makes us the unwilling audience, forced to watch as they spread their cheeks and talk out of their asses... I wanna get up and leave but at this point I've put too much time into it not to get my money's worth."

He sighs, a gentle creak heard as he leans back into his chair. He's silent before the ruffling of a bag is heard, a loud pop sounding out as he sets chips onto his desk.

"What's your idea on how to handle the oncoming storm though? I'm probably gonna wing it for the most part but I'd like to have your perspective beforehand."

His mouse wheels scolls as Fernando speaks, the winding barely audible over the phones mic as it continued.

"That's on his body then." Kim says in response to the endeavor of Stone's hurt feelings.

"Yea... I've been catching up on everything while I'm sitting here. I'm envisioning what we'll be dealing with in the near future and I gotta say, from what I'm picturing, we'll have to wear our shit stompin' boots."

He leans forward, his voice becoming a bit clearer as he does, continuing to look through the messages and news sources as the two of them converse.

"Dude what the fuck is wrong with the people in this region? Like its not just the citizens that are shit, the town officials are kinda dumpy too. Maybe we should keep the gym leaders out of politics..."

Though he's one to talk, the post he just typed out was anything but professional.

"... or hold a TED talk for them."

An audible chuckle escapes him as he leans unto his chair.

"Or he's looking down on us with his newly gained omniscience and simply surveying. In which case..."

Kim grows silent for a moment, before returning to the call.

"You couldn't see that but I just flipped off my ceiling. If someone walked in on me they probably would've had questions."

He exhales smoke through his nose, finishing the last of the spliff with one final inhale.

"I can probably find some other local that wants a piece too because her son feels the same way; but he's like 17 so he doesn't count."
