As the dark sky overhead fades, Kim’s eyes divert to the mountain, assessing the other group and how their own fight had been going. All he could see was the frozen cliffside and Articuno’s wings flapping over the treelines, Kim rolling his eyes before being forced to turn his attention back to his own problems.

The generator had been destroyed, one of Kim’s main goals accomplished, but a stray tri-attack had suddenly batted near, his eyes soon moving over to the source of the attack: Tsubasa Yamamoto ’s porygon.

For a moment, he contemplates taking them out, unsure if they belonged to the enemy or not, considering the fact that they had mainly taken out the Megalopian forces, but decides against retaliation. It would be a pain to deal with fighting your own forces on top of the enemies.

Instead, he walks forward, grabbing the first stupid science looking bitch he can find by the collar and points at the persisting wormhole, his pokemon standing around him in a defensive position.

“How do we shut this thing down?”

He barely flinches as the earth begins to shake, the crumbling crust of the mountainside a problem the others would have to deal with on their own.

“Clowns know how to have the most fun though.”

Kim says before knocking back the remnants of his drink, smiling as he sets the empty cup onto the countertop, knocking to signal a refill.

“We talked about a lot of things before rocket fell: anime, memes, your recircumcision, it’s hard to set a finger on what exactly you mean, so give me a refresher. Help me to recollect.”

The slight quake caused from the body of the Dragonite hitting the earth is enough to stop Kim in his tracks, the man looking back at the Dragonite, face filled with worry as the pokemon struggled to get to its feet.

“Friendly Coffee, roost up here with us!”

Kim shouts back, continuing his move forward, mentally ordering a heal pulse from Kirlia as his pokemon group around him.

Thanks would not go unearned from Rufio McGillis’s Doublade, the pokemon more successful than his own when it came to clashing with the bug. But this thanks would be given after they had dealt with the current threats that egged at them.

His move forward would not be interrupted, the sweet scent that entered his senses unphazing him from his path. Reaching his destination, sooner or later than expected, he eyes the generator with a steadfast gaze, hand quickly shooting forward and pointing at the generator ahead.

“Minnow, Knock-Me-Down, wreck that thing.”

This command was met with swift obedience, the Lickilicky clapping its hands and boosting the Swamperts Earth Power, the ground smashed with the mudfish’s mitts cracking in a jagged line; making its way towards the machine in an attempt to destroy it.

Actions of grandeur and spectacular showmanship prove to be in Kims favor, what distractions he ran giving him enough time for backup to arrive; his eyes looking back as he soared through the air, spotting LANCE VOLLANS pulling behind Kim's own turbulence.

As the league's forces focus on the main objective, Kim taps into comms to deliver a message to all that had a central form of communication; though this message was directed at one person in particular.

“Hey, FERNANDO SILPH, when you see that kid tell ‘em this line: ‘I don’t think you have a permit to drill here.’ I promise it’s gonna be tight as hell. ”

Kim laughs at his own words, his jolly nature soon stifling on edge, a telepathic message alerting him of incoming reinforcements, the councilman thankfully able to dodge the flurry of kicks that shot towards him.

Eyes widened at the beast before him, this beautiful bug catching him off guard. And for a couple of seconds, he was stunned, not only by the fact that it had gotten to this altitude, but the speed at which it attacked. But to sit and gawk alone would win him no upper hand.

“Swat this bug, Coffee.”

His hands released from the Dragonite, Kims grip loosening as he was left to the wind, releasing a Kirlia as he teleported to ground level, the Swampert soon emerging from the water, shaking away what rocks remained on its body.

The Dragonite ignites its fist, a fiery punch aiming to land on the insect's thin frame- Kim commanding the Swampert to slam into the terrain ground shaking quake causing an eruption of earth to shoot into the sky at the beast, slim hopes to at least stun the pokemon as it had him. It was inconsequential whether or not his attacks had damaged the beast, slowing it down was enough at the moment.

“Lets go.”

Kim commands, his pokemon following in tow as the Dragonite soared overhead, eyeing the bug beast as it fell, the Dragonite following Kim above his ground team.

“LANCE VOLLANS, move towards the wormhole, we make our stand there. Anyone else that wants a piece of this bimbo bug ass meet me at the portal, and make it fast.”

One more pokeball and his Lickilicky is released, the pokemon using its tongue to whip away any threats that stood in their paths, the Swampert doing its part to negate the shocks from those with weapons, her thick skin providing coverage to their man made elements.

ღ swampert causes an eruption if earth to fly towards pheromosa after dragonite uses fire punch to try and hit it, trying to stun it for a moment

ღ kim makes his way towards the portal through the forest, swampert and lickilicky clearing a way for him while dragonite watches from overhead

ღ kim gives an all call to anyone that can provide backup to converge on the portal with him to make a stand

“Damn straight.”

Kim says smugly, lips curling into a grin at the thought.

“We’re a straight up power couple.”

Though considering the fact that most relationships crumble before they had gotten anywhere, the honor was not as valuable as one would think. But Kim was happy, and being in a relationship, let alone one that has progressed to this level, is one he views as an achievement.

“Screw it. As long as you have friends by your side, relationships aren’t really worth a damn…” His own words cause him to pause, the councilman mulling over them before speaking again. “Do you have friends, Ferny?”

At the encroaching heat wave, the Lickilicky quickly forms its barrier, blocking the oncoming flames with a pink reflective shield that surrounds Kim and his pokemon. It wasn’t meant to hold for a while, only long enough for him to shift locations.

And it does, Kim teleporting to the sea, returning his Lickilicky and Kirlia as he straddles the Dragonite’s back, the Swampert swimming alongside as the man as he flew close to the ocean.

The councilman’s eyes remained on his objective, pointing to the distance at the portal barely in view from his perspective. In those seconds the sky grows dark and the rain falls like daggers, piercing the skin of those unfortunate enough not to benefit from its effects. It hurts ofcourse but Kim doesn’t have the luxury to bask in its tediousness.

His eyes focus on the task he set for himself: move towards the wormhole and shut it down. But, doing a little damage along the way wouldn’t hurt his forces.

“Minnow, go for the keels of any boat thats in your way-” His hands stay busied, pulling back his hair into a ponytail and pulling out a few rubber bands, wrapping them tightly to set his hair in place. “-Stone Edge your way through them, circle back on the ones that you hit to make sure damage is done.” After the command, Kim tucks himself tightly against the Dragonites form, attempting to mesh with the pokemon to become a little more aerodynamic. “Coffee, we’re gonna run distraction for a bit until backup arrives. Agility.”

With their directions heard, they begin their assault, the Swampert crashing into a boulder, arming fin, fingers and tail to the brim with jagged stones as she swept through the shoreline, crashing against the undersides of ships in her wake. Meanwhile the Dragonite with Kim in tow, beats its wings, strafing side to side and building momentum, speed boosting as it takes to the skies, zipping around ships and dragons alike.

Either backup would come to help him or they’d get to the portal before he did. Either way, he was really out here stylin on these kids.

“Mistake or not it’s a decision you made that you have to live with. Whether it was made on impulse or you thought it over properly doesn’t matter. You’re living in the result of the decision you made, and looking back to it as a regret won’t change the fact that it’s over and done with.”

Kind of ironic wording to be giving to someone who’s the avatar to a time bender, but y’know, whatever makes the pain a little more bearable.

“No problem, I’m more than happy to listen to my favorite ex-gym leader. Plus, now that you won’t be as busy, we can hang out more!”

His eyes widen into a look of sudden surprise, an epiphany occurring in moments of listening to himself.

“We can hang out while I’m shirking my work and Najwa’s too busy to!”

It was a perfect alignment of stars, Kims eyes glinting with excitement.

He’s mid-sip when Fernando gives his answer-

‘a man of the lord’

-hitting him instantaneously, Kim choking on his drink, laughing as he sucked down the liquid in between breaths of air.

“-you stupid asshole.” Tears form in his eyes as he struggles to regain himself, grabbing for a napkin and wiping his lips of any liquid that may have accidentally spilled from his mouth.

It took a few moments for him to calm down, the full 30 seconds of laughter seeming to finally trickle down after his third gasp of air.

It felt good to laugh, not giggle, not chuckle, not give a small “ha” in place of one, but to laugh. It reminded Kim that not every moment of his life was completely bitter, he could still enjoy himself.

“... I hate that you made me laugh at such a low effort joke.”

He leans forward, head hanging over the bar as he takes a few more seconds to calm himself before sitting up straight, pulling his hair back to rest behind him. One last breath of air and he’s back to himself, a smirk on his lips and a calm to his words.

“You’d be surprised, Ferny. People love a man in charge, and one that carries himself like you? They’d thirst harder than a wanderer in the desert.”

As chaos roars about, Kim takes in his surroundings, his eyes peering at objectives as the others focused on the one before them.

He mumbles options to himself, keeping his eyes forward before he moves, slowly pacing towards the wormhole. If he could stop reinforcements from coming out of that thing then undoubtedly the battle on this front would be more in their favor. He had his plan, now he only needed to set it into motion.

With a quick breath he releases his pokemon the slightest of motions sending forth four onto the field, their own sights aligning with his, Kim pointing towards the group nearest to the first s!charizard.

“Sweep ‘em, Coffee.”

He says as the Kirlia quickly TELEPORTs Kim and his team in the middle of said group- the Dragonite catching the group with a sweep of its AQUA TAIL, launching them towards the shoreline with a fine flick.

“Douse the Charizard, Minnow. Knock, keep us protected.”

The Swampert, immediately after ordered, shoots a powerful spout of water from its maw, the empowered HYDRO PUMP launching towards the s!charizard with the might of a storm. Meanwhile the Lickilicky primes a PROTECTive barrier when/if needed.

Hopefully whatever attention he had drawn would allow the front line to charge through with slightly more ease.

‘I hate this uncertainty.’

Kim thinks to himself, switching the empty glass with a full one as he traces the rim in silence; listening to Fernando as he expanded on his own concerns. It was already tireless work to try and find logic in the illogical, and when Fernando speaks Kim’s thoughts out loud, he could only feel the weight on his chest grow larger.

But he still manages to smile, the thought of volunteering himself to such a cause being only an excuse for not marrying @bean4 seeming like a reasonable yet also cowardly thing to do.

“Please, Najwa would drag me by my heels to our weeding in a heart beat. She knows all my duck out locations, my schedules, and she’s in sync with my Kirla- she literally has as much command over my pokemon as I do. She can have my Kirlia teleport me to her just by thinking it.”

God he loves that woman.

“Enough about me though. What’s your love life lookin’ like? Have you had the privilege of being the little spoon lately?”

A light chuckle follows as the glass meets his lips, a small sip taken from the cup managing his intake.

Through a huff and smirk, Kim looks back in front of himself, playfully splashing in the stream with his feet as she gives herself a few less than uplifting words.

“Trains come and go from station to station, Kay. But just because you like the look of one doesn’t mean you should get on it. If it isn’t meant to be, it isn’t meant to be. Your ride will come eventually, just be patient.”

It worked for him, it was only bound to work for her… maybe.

“I would give my council seat up in a heartbeat, Kay. You think I like being in charge of people let alone the decisions of an entire region? Hell no, it’s mad taxing. But it’s kinda my duty at this point to see this through until my time has come.”

“I’ll give up my seat as long as whoevers ass fills it sits as nicely as mine does.”

But the way things were looking with the current state of the league, damn even Hoenn as a whole, it wasn’t likely his seat would be filled by another any time soon.

“Why bring it up?”

At the very least he could find solace in knowing that the defenses they have planned were not in the hands of one incapable of seeing faults where they may appear. He could trust Fernando’s judgement when it came to the security of their strongholds, and the safety of the inhabitants within.

Respect could not be helped but to follow Fernando’s words as he spoke them, comfort once again welling up inside, along with a small thought of hope sidling alongside it.

“I think we should compact a a fraction of our defenses around Slateport and Lilycove for right now, at least until we get enough people evacuated. After that’s said and done and we return our forces from where they were assigned we send any excess recruits to Rustboro and Fallarbor to fortify what defenses we already have at play, if any.”

Following the suggestion he bites at his thumbnail in thought, sheathing the idea as he brought the glass to his mouth.

“Whatever you have in mind is fine by me though. As long as our citizens are safe and damage to our forces are minimal I don’t care what comes next.”

And with a quick swig from the glass he begins to swirl the amber liquid, the mesmerizing twister forming within taking his attention away from the words he spoke of more personal matters.

“I’m sure you can already guess that she is not the happiest at the moment…”

Countering the swirl by spinning the glass counterclockwise Kim waits until it reaches a slower pace before finishing the drink with one final swig.

“...For some strange reason… she does not want me to die. It’s honestly baffling to me.”
