being born in kalos cray knew from an early age that he wasn't like other boys, or like the little girls, in his classes. it wasn't unheard of for boys to dress up fancy and in clothes that were a bit more feminine than in other regions but generally they tended to grow out of it. but cray never exactly grew out of it. instead he flourished in it. his parent's pushed him into some minor modeling roles seeing that he was comfortable playing a male or female role in pictures or in small acting things. but that was never really what he wanted to do with his life so he tried to stop pursuing it as he got older.[break][break]

he wanted to do something meaningful with his life and while that wasn't really easy he decided on teaching. he did a short stint as a trainer for awhile for traveling but ended up just training up his pokemon around home afterward. he wanted to continue his dream of making sure that he could be an educator. he didn't want to teach older kids since they tended to be a bit crueler he decided on preschool instead. the kids loved his bright colored clothes and the school didn't seem to mind too much so long as there weren't parental complaints.[break][break]

after a few years of teaching though of course one asshole had to come and ruin it all. a family that had moved from sinnoh to kalos and upon seeing cray in a day to day had a fit because they were a bunch of assholes. they pulled their kid from the preschool and threw more and more fits about how he was dressed. so cray decided to tone it down. he loved his freedom but he loved his job more and didn't want to jeopardize it. unfortunately though he began to feel even more miserable.[break][break]

his work started to suffer and he began to become more distant in his day to day life. he did his best to take care of the kids and made sure that they didn't see that anything was wrong with him. he couldn't sleep though and started to browse online for things to do. one of them being an upcoming league qualification testing. summer vacation was coming up and he had still been regularly training his team so he decided to sign up.[break][break]

he hadn't been expecting to actually pass through the tests though the written part had been a breeze the tournament had been what felt like would be his biggest obstacle. somehow though he managed to breeze through. though that might have been due to luck and a few of the people dropping out due to conditions beyond their control. nonetheless he was league certified now. it seemed to be good timing too.[break][break]

the preschool he worked at decided to restructure the following year, leaving him jobless due to them cutting down on staff. he didn't want to say it was because of all of the trouble that had followed him the year before but he couldn't deny that was probably part of it. with no other real options he shoved his league certification into his application and was pulled to work in hoenn as a gym leader due to vacancy and them needing help against the rising rocket threats.[break][break]
