She leaned back against the chair, closing her eyes and clearing her throat. Fay understood what Marie had meant but the subject was uncomfortable. “Right” she responded half heartedly, her fingers tapping against the wooden surface of the table.

“Naturally you say..?” Fay uttered after Marie a small scoff following. She didn’t know how Marie could phrase it in such a way. It made her wonder how much blood she had on her hands, and if she’ll end up the same. However Fay knew her fate; one day she may end up killing someone and she needed to be prepared.

She sighed as Marie repeated herself, wondering how soon they’ll be meeting again. Glancing at the phone and number she held up. Fay figured it’d be good to have if something were to go badly, even if she wasn’t certain that she could depend on Marie doing anything.

Fay wasn’t unable to respond as Marie had vanished in the blink of an eye, but her parting words sent a shiver down her spine. She had a feeling that things will only be getting more difficult, and that she’ll kiss her rule free life goodbye. She also stood and gave the bartender a small bow before heading outside of the building. Luckily the bar was still in slateport, but she had a long walk back home and a lot to think about.
