WINTER WONDERLAND

Fluffy snowflakes float lazily in the air, blanketing the ground in brilliant white. Your breath fogs in the chilly winter air, and you can feel your nose begin to redden from the cold. This is still Hoenn...right?[break][break]

Research at the Weather Institute has gone amiss! The institute's work with Castform has created an unforeseen snowfall on Route 119, creating a short-lived winter wonderland to the delight of citizens unaccustomed to so much snow. Festivities have quickly sprung up around this phenomenon: ice skating, hot chocolate stands, and snowball fights abound.[break][break]

Fairy lights twinkle from snow-laden boughs, beckoning everyone to come and join the fun. A hoard of Galarian Darmanitan have joined the fray as well, and smaller Darumaka play in the snow around their feet.[break][break][break][break]

PERFECT SNOWBOY

A contest to see who can craft the perfect snowboy has quickly earned some buzz. The judges are the esteemed Darmanitan, who view each and every snowball with a discerning eye. Can you create a snowboy good enough to impress them?[break][break]

In this mega-thread, your character can interact with others and play around in the snow while they attempt to create the perfect snowboy! Characters that succeed will be able to redeem a special prize, including one grand prize winner at the end.[break][break][break][break]

RULES:

Include a roll at the bottom of each post to craft a part of your snowboy. You must obtain all three parts in order to make one perfectly and claim your prize!

• Bottom: 1-33
  
• Middle: 34-66
• Top: 67-100

Participants are welcome to post more than once per day, but can only roll once per day to build their snowman. You do not have to reference the building of a snowman in every post and may engage in other activities with your character and others.[break][break]

• Throw a snowball at another character

SETTING: PINKAN ISLAND, FAR OFF THE HOENN COAST

EXPOSITION

little is known about the mysterious PINKAN ISLAND, a territory far off the coast of hoenn. though it's rumored to be the home of unusual flora and fauna, visitors have historically been prohibited from entering to preserve the natural wildlife and defend from poachers.[break][break]

the island is maintained by two HEAD RANGERS who operate independently of Hoenn's ranger system. as such, they remain isolated from Hoenn's general base of operations. their methods and motives are a mystery, though they have a reputation as staunch defenders of their island and all that inhabit it.[break][break]

it's unusual, therefore, for PINKAN ISLAND'S head rangers to reach out to the mainland. but for the first time in decades, the rangers are inviting visitors. the excursion is advertised as a three day camping trip to the island to both sightsee and assist in clean-up following a massive STORM. interested trainers are welcome to fill out a specialized application in order to vet participants. those selected must fulfill the following REQUIREMENTS:[break]

• be 18 years of age or older
• have no publicly known ties to team rocket or it's affiliates
• have earned a reputation of some repute (20 infamy or higher)

perhaps your character is motivated to explore the natural beauty of pinkan island, or to purely assist in volunteer efforts. perhaps they would simply like to enjoy an island getaway, or probe the mysteries that surround this secluded place. or, perhaps, they wish to exploit it's resources for themselves. whatever the reason, veins of intrigue run deep, and the island promises to be far more than it appears...

• you may only sign up with ONE character
• each character is allowed to bring up to TWO pokemon
• pokemon movesets are not locked in
• the roll mechanic may be employed as needed for action posts
• please provide a TL;DR at the end of every post
• characters that miss more than one posting round will be retconned out of the event
• mod posts will come every 4-5 DAYS. extensions may be provided on request

After last year's success the snowboy showdown has become an annual event! Unstable conditions in Hoenn have made it even easier to manipulate the weather and create a perfect winter wonderland to host the contest. This year, the Ranger PR team, lead by luka chêne with assistance from Audric Black, have organized the festivities into a more formal event.[break][break]

Fairy lights decorate the frost covered trees, softly illuminating the continuously falling snow. The snowy fields on Route 119 now boast an ice rink, food and drink stalls, and a small holiday market. All proceeds are to benefit your local, hardworking Rangers! Come in and join the festivities with fellow Hoennians, or simply build a snowboy and collect your prize.[break][break][break][break]

SNOWBOY SABOTAGE:

As a new mechanic this year, players may use their snowboy parts to sabotage another player. This sabotage can occur icly or oocly. Tag the person you want to sabotage, and make sure to remove a snowboy part from your inventory. It is recommended that you use extra snowboy parts that you may have rolled, but not mandatory![break][break]

If your character is struck by a sabotage, you must remove a snowboy part of your choosing from your inventory. You must then reroll that piece to complete your snowboy properly![break][break]

Please note: players with completed snowboys cannot be sabotaged, nor can they sabotage another player. Using the sabotage system to harass or target any particular character or player is forbidden.[break][break][break][break]
