that's what he was taught before the passing of his mother and father. he was only a child when they past, and that was quite a long time ago. now, older, he and his siblings preside as the owners of a bustling casino found in lilycove city; the name of that casino is the famous kings dominion.

home to those who seek thrill, fun, and excitement; it was once an excruciatingly fast-paced place for all to enjoy. without any worry of true loss. his mother and father loved it so. his mother, rosemary coin, and his father, koban coin, were once apart of two feuding families that were, once upon a time, great rivals. they settled their disputes through intense gambling matches rather than pokemon battles. the matches ranged from family embarrassment to high-end payments that were insane. none rivaled the family when it came to a gambling match.

eventually, the family came together to create something special: kings dominion. kings dominion is a bustling casino that can be found in just about every region. lilycove is said to house the headquarters of kings dominion; where it, also, is believed to be a dangerous ring to step in; dangerous, but thrilling. arian's mother was the gym leader of lilycove, and rather then make a gym she chose to utilize kings dominion as the station of her gym.

the gambling queen was what they called his mother. a woman who exhibited great pressure, arian admired his mother's battle prowess and creativity in gambling. that was when he knew that, when it was his time, he was ready to add in his own twist to the large casino.

eventually, sometime, his parents never returned during a trip. til this day it isn't known whether they're dead or alive, but the coin siblings weren't alone. they had others to look out for them, to guide them, and an elder brother to watch over them. arian was second-in-command, where his elder brother focused on the business side; arian focused on the gym leader side.

battling eventually grew to become boring. he wanted thrill, he wanted to see the true essence of what made his mother love it. it was a "special" kind battle only she could do, he just needed to find his own way to that specialty. he loved gambling, but what of battling? after discussing it over with his siblings, an idea was reached. there was no risk involved; those who came to his gym were met with great defeat from the chicanary of his pokemon; so how could he award them a badge if they were unable to overcome his complex play?

it was decided. change would be made to all kings dominion. a new rule implemented; a new slogan. he created a gym that would open an assortment of games to be chosen from. kings dominion was built upon gambling, there were high risks for all parties; battling was secondary, but gambling? that was the true essence of madness, of excitement. gambling everyday at life, taking on chances where the odds may be considerably high or considerably weak; a fifty-fifty gambit.

thus, the grim dealer was born. the name, arian coin, is merely a monster in the guise of a human. it was heartbreaking that, since becoming the grim dealer, he felt no remorse to making those fall deep into despair; everything laid on the line. he was tired of trainers coming in with weak hands--weak pokemon. that was what made battling so boring, can you blame him for spicing it up a little? those who cannot outwit him at his own game have no right to call themselves a trainer if they're so easily susceptible to falling into despair.

life is unfair, death coddles no man; becoming champion is no easy feat. and to make light of leaders is but a grave mistake. once you have stepped into kings dominion, you're entering tartarus.

what of the region? where has arian been during the team rocket fiasco? arian has been remaining within his home, presiding as lilycove's protector and funder of defense; with the money kings dominion acquires, they are one of the richest companies who can help provide security to their home city. those who enter and cause havoc are met with a great fate to befall them. anything that goes on outside of lilycove doesn't very much concern him--unless he is requested to provide aid when they are shorthanded.
