there's something to be said about how easily cian's usually able to break tensions in the air. he's not carefree, perhaps, but maybe he knows how best to break through to people he cares about.

"i mean, i guess it's not entirely your fault. i could've been better with communicating."

wanting to put that behind them, he nods.

"clothes like your ultraman t-shirt?"

Elliott couldn't help a gruff chuckle, shrugging his shoulders. Cian wasn't wrong.

Everything would be a shit show as long as they stayed in Rocket.

"Not like the League is much better either. Maybe we should just run away and be hermits on a different continent."

It was a joke, but not dealing with the weight of good versus evil would be nice.

"Yeah. You suck at that."

He couldn't help teasing him a bit, the smallest of smirks crawling onto his lips before he shoved him.

"Do you want a change of clothes and to stop smelling like beer or not? Don't complain, asshole."

cian decides not to argue even if he thinks otherwise. despite all the wrong they've done, the league is definitely much better. most things are, in fact.

"yeah, yeah, i do."

he sniffs, smelling beer. disgusting.

"i'ma take a shower than crash on your couch."

Elliott decided to settle back in his bed, waving him off.

"Don't use up all the hot water, or else I'll make you piss in your sleep by putting your hand in water," he warned.

"i don't think that's a real thing but even if it is, it's your couch you'll have to clean."

cian heads over to the bathroom, content with using up all the hot water because he's in there for a good twenty, maybe thirty minutes. odds are he's leaned against the side of the shower and just enjoying the way it washes over him.

but eventually, he comes back out.

There's some point that Eli contemplated on banging on the door, to yell at him to come out and stop wasting the hot water.

But his body seemed all too tired to get up and try.

Because when Cian stepped out of the bathroom, he was curled up on his bed, eyes closed as he held onto his ARCANINE'S tail for comfort. Sleeping like a baby.

Probably looking content and at peace for once in his life.
