lunatone wasn't a ghost-type, so he's back to looking for them. as long as he gets to calm some of them down, the upcoming halloween season should be mild enough for the caretakers of mt. pyre.

as he takes the pokeball containing the newly captured, the leafeon who took it down starts to recover itself with synthesis. it's night, and mt. pyre is pretty foggy as far as hoenn's elevated landforms go, so it wasn't going to recover a lot. he gives it a scratch under the ear instead as a supplement.

with things taken care of, they look for another ghost-type.

he's on his way to go near the shrine on the peak of mt. pyre when his eyes spy on a still pokemon that was just staring at them.

kyle stares back, waiting for an occasional gust of wind to sway the mist to his favor, until it is revealed that the silhouette he's spotted was actually a shedinja. from kyle's perspective, it looked like a scarecrow.

figuring it probably wasn't going to harm anybody since it's just standing still, kyle decides to leave it alone. had it been one of the more mischievous ghosts, he'd probably be forced to teach it a lesson.

unlike the ghosts that they were meant to hunt, a drowzee wasn't one. they spot it with a distance between them as they lock in a staring contest.

it wasn't a bug like the shedinja before though. it's a thing that moves and acts and doesn't just chill and sleep.

still, it wasn't a ghost. it wouldn't affect his job of clearing mt. pyre for less ghosts in case they just get so many in the upcoming days. that was enough reason for kyle to not notice it.

he shoos it with a hand gesture before moving on.

the fog gets thicker as they ascend. eventually, they reach the point where it's difficult to see five feet in front of you.

it was there that they finally meet a ghost-type that fits the bill: something annoying that they will have to deal with once the spirit season happens.

a runerigus blocks the way. there's no point going further since it seems to act like the final boss or something. they just have to fight it, he supposed, which was convenient since he has his leafeon around.

a quick leaf blade from the grass-type incapacitates it. it tries to retaliate, but the leafeon's speed remains unparalleled by wild pokemon. it falls down on the second strike, giving kyle the option to toss a pokeball at it, which he does.
