icd- 10 values are objective measures of the individual and their wellness. when you are nothing but a mix of numbers and letters on a screen, you're dehumanized to the point of being another tally on the roster of patients a doctor sees a day. for someone like alecis, she could be considered a hypochondriac. some would argue this was out of necessity, being in a loveless marriage that was out of desperation to find the means to support her mentally ill father who was experiencing persisting old age-related degenerative dementia. with a pitiful job to her name, alecis had little to work off of - barely able to keep herself fed and oftentimes offering what she had to her father and his medical bills as opposed to looking after herself. this lack of care towards herself left her gaunt and weak, unfit to rear a child when the time came for her 'husband' to want the pleasure of having offspring that would carry his impressive genes. a saint in every way his imagination allowed, this man alecis called her husband would oftentimes remind his wife that he was doing his best to keep her and her father safe - even going as far as sometimes using her father as leverage for winning arguments that would be seen as one-sided and toxic. all alecis could do was grit her teeth and pretend to enjoy the physical attention she got from her older husband. devolved into nothing but an object of sexual desire and a means by which to make children, it was no surprise that every attempt at getting pregnant was met by constant trips to the doctor. mental health? secondary, tertiary - very much so final in the list of alecis's concerns regarding herself when she had so much else on her plate. this neglect of her anxiety and depression made her incapable of holding a fetus for long, leading to multiple miscarriages that ultimately led to in vitro fertilization and an ivf baby finally living in alecis's womb past the three-month mark. this was a blessing and a curse. on one hand, alecis had the ability to hold the interest of her husband who was more than ready to attempt to plant his seed in a younger, equally hot secretary. with the promise of a child, alecis's husband was around more - truly a curse. even so, alecis's father had the funding he needed to be taken care of and alecis had a proper roof under her head and enough of an allowance to seek a proper education to make a name for herself. although she wasn't a stellar student months into her pregnancy, alecis did the best she could to balance a sexually over-active husband, a rapidly degenerating father, and the unborn baby within her womb. as all tragedies go, however, the worst did come to pass. delusions from her mad father seemed to have cursed the baby within alecis's womb - claims of having 'seen' the way the baby would appear and how unhappy it would be in this cruel reality it was being set into. this obsession with alecis's baby put a rift between her and her father due to her hating her husband - and by extension, the unborn child. this rift was so large that alecis stumbled when it came to caring for her father, thinking it led to his death even during present time. this idea haunted alecis through her divorce and separation from anything her husband ever offered her. even the degree that alecis had worked terribly hard for was put in the trash, working to instead make ends meet as she could - doing cheap parlor tricks and picking up sleight of hand as both a thief and street magician. perhaps it was her body that lured booze-ridden individuals at first, but alecis now has a steady following of fans and goes by the name 'violet' when on stage. as means of getting back at such crooked individuals as her husband, she also doubles as a private eye - mostly acting as a paparazzi who catches cheating partners in the act for a good price.
