Remiel's penthouse apartment in RUSTBORO CITY isn't nearly as luxurious as some might think. The apartment building itself was over a century old at this point and, despite all the renovations throughout the years, it kept that sense of antiquity soaked within its brick-laid walls and wooden flooring. The building had a reputation for housing businessmen and women with no families of their own, and most only used these apartments sparingly.

Nevertheless, the three-man security team that patrolled the building and guarded the front lobby was likely not enough to deter the likes of Asriel Pryde and oscar clayton from proceeding with their assignment: the ASSASSINATION of Remiel Calcifet after his abrupt betrayal of Rocket.

The man in question was, presumably, still at the GALARIAN EMBASSY conducting business. This left his penthouse apartment completely vacant and subject to search.

To call its furnishings minimalist was an understatement. Save for a few expensive paintings here and there, and a large bookshelf filled to the brim, nothing really seemed to stand out. With little more than a stone grey sofa, lounge chair, tables, and chairs, it looked just as it might have when Remiel had first come to take the tour. There wasn't even a TV.

Our of all of the icky jobs Oscar had to do, this one by far felt the ickiest. The beast had hoped that someone else would be given the task of assassinating Remiel Calcifet, but of course Oscar'e luck did not come through this time. It was not just that Remiel was a horribly powerful avatar, he was also Oscar's friend. Oscar valued loyalty deeply, and even if he resented Remiel's departure the idea of killing the guy made him down right sick. Yet in this line of work you do not get to say 'no thank you'. When you are given a job to do, you are expected to complete it without complaint--and that was what Oscar did.

Luckily he was not sent to complete this task alone, Oscar was accompanied by a professional assassin named Asriel Pryde. He had not had the pleasure of meeting him up until now, but he seemed cool maybe? Not that it mattered, this was an in-and-out job so there was hardly room for socializing. As soon as the two met up they had gotten to straight to work, using Oscar's dragapult to Phantom Force into Remiel's apartment from the outside.

As they made it through the portal, Oscar would quickly withdraw his Dragapult and take in his surroundings. He was surprised by how simple the apartment was, one might even call it quaint. All the better for laying a trap. Oscar knew they had little time, so he was direct when speaking to his partner. Oscar had donned one of his skull shaped helmets for this endeavor, so his voice would be deeply filtered as he spoke.

"Secure the apartment, I'll start placing charges." Oscar took out a pokeball and started looking for a good spot for the first 'charge'

Who was Remiel Calcifet?

A traitor to the organization, a stain that needed to be wiped away from existence. Their brief encounters were enough to leave a bitter taste in his mouth. One that would fade away with his unescapable death. Asriel planned to execute this mission without issues, being partnered with the beast oscar clayton made him confident that they would do just that.

Promptly meeting up with Oscar outside of the traitors apartment buildings, infiltration wouldn't be difficult thanks to his dragapult. Seeing his apartment for the first time was shocking to say the least. His face contorts with disbelief, it was pathetic that this was the home of a ambassador. Who was he trying to fool?

"Leave it to me." he responds gruffly, quickly calling out his luxray the electric feline amber eyes begin to glow as it promptly uses powerful vision to search the other rooms of the pent house.

Asriel lets it do all the hard work, he lurks towards the living room - with hopes he could find something to use against the ambassador.

oscar clayton would find several suitable places to plant a 'charge' discreetly. The cabinet beneath the kitchen sink could prove to be a good means of hiding one, while also covering the eastern wall. Furthermore, the bookcase against the northern wall held a decorative basket that had been hand-woven with straw and thread in ORRE.

Asriel Pryde and his LUXRAY, in the meantime, might be drawn towards the living room at first... but, before long, the giant cat would catch a whiff of something suspicious down the hall. It would look towards its trainer to tell him as much with its eyes. Would they continue to search the living room together and keep Oscar company in the meantime? Or would they head off down the hallway to investigate?

Unaware of the nuances of basket weaving, Oscar would indeed place a voltorb directly into the decorative basket. He turned it a little, trying to find the best visual angle. The voltorb itself was fast asleep, as were all of the voltorbs Oscar had brought--except of course for the special Hisuian variation that would act as the 'trigger'.

From there Oscar began to place voltorbs into every crevice they could possibly fit into. Within the cabinets, under the chairs, under the couch and lounge chairs, and even in the refrigerator. When Oscar was running out of room, he began emptying the bookshelf to fit more voltorbs onto it. By the time Oscar was satisfied, he only had three normal voltorbs left--and he still needed to fill Remy's bedroom and bathroom.

Oscar groaned and released his awake Hisuian Voltorb. It looked up to its master, pondering if now was the time to explode. Oscar shook his head, "Not yet, just follow me in case Remiel comes home early." The wooden ball nodded, rolling along along side his master as Oscar went toward the hallway. Whether Asriel had already gone down there or not Oscar did not know, he had been too busy setting up his trap.

The constant noise Oscar was causing did make Asriel curious as to exactly what the beast had planned. Never having to eliminate someone with an explosion, Asriel was slightly thrilled it was exciting to know that Remiel would soon be blown to bits with a body never to be found again.

However the pleasure was short-lived, interrupted as he recognized the look of his luxray. It was a look Asriel's seen numerous times - up ahead there was unknown trouble.

He doesn't look back and cautiously proceeds forwards to the hallways - leaving the trap to Oscar.

Both oscar clayton and Asriel Pryde would find themselves reunited in the hallway. The few paintings and photos that decorated the walls depicted scenes of ancient ruins, pyramids in a distant land, and colorful chaos in a foreign bazaar. What drew the attention of Oscar's Luxray, however, was a strange crackling in the room down the hall. The door was slightly ajar, so when nudged open...

It would reveal Remiel's bedroom. And, embedded against its farthest wall, a single LIGHTNING STILETTO.

Before any of them could step closer, however, the sound of clinking emanated from the kitchen area they had left behind. They were not alone in the penthouse apartment anymore. But would either of them dare go back to investigate?
