[attr="class","freypost"]she is reverent, hopeless, awestruck, lost. lyune is crippled. she remembers it in flashes, always him banking for safety, her urging him on, flying him to their near-demise. he trusted her. still, he trusts her. she can't take it. 

she doesn't know that she's here to let off steam, but she is. she needs to be in control, needs to know that she can still do something, that she's powerful. calcifer and fafnir are at her sides, quiet. moxie is in her ball. she can't stand the company of aeris and sypha, can't stand the guilt that comes with their presence.

[attr="class","freypost"]toes curl in the sand. calcifer lumbers near her, still uncomfortable in his too-big body. she swallows another bout of regret, attempts (and fails) at putting on a happy face as the charizard takes a seat next to her. his tail curls to his side, burning brighter than usual, and he growls softly at her. 

she leans into him and he extends a wing, shading her from the hot sun. fafnir opts to ignore the tender moment and run past them, spraying sand at the two as he stretches his wings and bounces into the air. he skims over the water, jerking sideways as he nearly collides with a breaching relicanth. 

freya sighs. "i don't know how i can face him," she whispers.

[attr="class","freypost"]she's staring straight ahead, gaze clouding once again. shivers skitter down her back, despite the heat curling from the sand around her. brilliant lights and screams and the choking taste of dust, ash, blood in her mouth. she clutches at her chest, doesn't even realize she's doing so, breathing so shallowly, quickly, until calcifer dips his head down and nuzzles her cheek worriedly. 

she moves with a start, not from the charizard's nuzzle, but from the sound of an agitated pokemon crying out as it swoops towards them. calcifer is quick to react, raising a wing as a shield as freya ducks. 

the archen wheels, crowing furiously. fafnir zips behind it and assails it with an ineffective thunder punch. the electricity sizzles off the bird's rock-hardened skin, feathers pluming with static. 

calcifer lets loose a flamethrower of warning, tempered and maintained, but still freya shrinks back away from him, anxiety sweeping over her again.

[attr="class","freypost"]calcifer watches over her, waiting until this passes. he's witnessed these moments of panic some times over in the past couple of weeks. all he can do is sit and offer her some comfort, and some shade from the sun. 

fafnir, meanwhile, has chased the archen away from them and straight into a slumbering gigalith. fafnir backs off, turning as though he had no part in it, as the two pokemon begin to squabble.
