“Shitpost are the essence of memes, Ferny. Have you ever seen a meme that would not/could not be considered a shitpost? Hell even jokes are shitpost if you strip them down to their bare essentials.”

He pauses, his hands motioning outward as he continued to speak, furthering on about absolutely nothing.

“You see Fernando, shitpost are what makes the world revolve. If it wasn’t for shitpost we would have never evolved. Comedy, tragedy, satire, you name it, without shitpost, these would all be obsolete.”

His hands once again motioned before him, a scale of sorts made with both of his palms facing upwards.

“There is a balance that is needed for entertainment, and without shitpost, one side outweighs the other and what enjoyment there is to be had with something is thrown out the window.”

“That’s how you get someone like you. A joyless individual who knows not of shitposting etiquette.”

Kim would scoff audibally towards him, his eyes darting towards the pokemon before scoffing once more.

kim would be the one to drone on about shitposts. he's always been a bit over the toppa whatever fernando could handle but somehow he tolerates it. his patience wears thin and his patience borders outright venting.

"you know half the office has filters to archive your messages, right?"

the last post about putting the lime in the coconut had been the last straw for nanette bouvier . it almost made her want to dropkick him. if it wasn't for the lunar shift and Isra Nightingale calming her down as they rotated out, fernando would've let her. probably would have given her a pat on the back like the champ she is. instead, he had to badger isra to do the same, trying to convince her that it was her turn with a playful "urit".

He says with a smug smile.

The most communication had with his coworkers were sparse, far and few between. Fernando of all people should know that, considering even when it was necessary for them to cooperate Kim had chosen to work by himself or not at all in order to avoid the man that much further.

He had originally forgotten what it was that made him detest Fernando as much as he did, so asking him to join him on this outing was simply a way to confirm if the feelings he felt for the man were true.

And sure enough, they were. Fernando was, is, and always has been a wet blanket. The bane of a perfectly good beach day.

But he wouldn’t let this soggy towel ruin what fun could be had from this experience. Kim would instead take the moments as they came, brushing off what could only be described as a dig towards him and roll back to what he had previously asked.

“Anyways, whats your favorite meme?”

fernando stares back toward the beach and finds his plusle acting like eccentric bonnibels. each one take turns zapping a helpless POLIWHIRL that's stomach is more confusing then spelling cilalic backwards. once it's knocked out, he captures that one too, keeping it safe within his pokeball long before the crows can come and pick at what's left of it.

"if i had one it'd be kaeor."

because he's a fucking joke. ha ha, get it?

somehow, fernando doesn't think kim will get that joke but that's a humor beyond his level sophistication. a marvelous insult that leaves fernando feeling minty fresh despite being the only one to revel in it. his expression remains the same but mentally the he appreciates how zoetic he is.

fernando's comeback is as weak as their chemistry but he's too preoccupied with herding his plusle back out of the sea's bubbles to care. he shakes his head and recalls one of them. there's no need for two when one can split any water pokemon apart like a coconut.

“What? Really? I had no idea.”

The sound of sarcasm heavily filled his voice, the lavender haired man giving him a look of confusion as he shook his head.

“I already figured that out, but some context would have been better than you just telling me, ‘ you wouldn’t understand. ‘ like the brooding emo kid that sits in the back of the class.”

Eyes would avert momentarily, a hippopotas spotted sitting in the sand before him. It would only take a moment for him to usher the dragonite over, a swift aqua tail knocking it out of the sand and into the air, an empty pokeball thrown, capturing the pokemon after a few wiggles.

“As I was saying. Give me something to work with at the very least.”

Of course his likes and dislikes were of little importance to Kim, but at least it would make the time go by a little faster.

there are very few things that fernando recognizes him for. however, if there had to be one, it's that he knows how to handle himself. watching his dragonite handle the hippopotas in a single blow is a dazzling moment that seems unfitting for a goofball like kim cole. yet, despite the various events they've been through, kim is still alive. regirock couldn't kill him, he made it out of slateport while protecting others, and somehow he became the poster boy of the league.

"financials. making sure that numbers align correctly and are calculated as they should be is immensely satisfying."

eyes dawn upon a pokemon that has no business being at the beach and one of his plusles treats it like a kite. zip. zap. just like that and the DARTRIX doesn't have a silvy of a chance. the pokemon lights up and fernando ends the show with an empty pokeball.

"and pokemon battle simulations. they're faster and more tactical based. less worrying about the performance factor."

they're a bit dry but fernando doesn't follow the norm. he's a renegade through and through.

He squints, not because of the sun that had beating down on them since their arrival; no, his eyes were properly covered by the wide brim of his sunhat. But he would squint nonetheless, eyes moving to stare at fernando, the bemused expression on Kim’s face telling all.

“Are you actually a robot? Everything you said, every word that just came out of your mouth, sounded exactly like something a robot would say.”

Though he was not exactly surprised by his words. He had come to the conclusion long ago that this fleshy exterior hid a cold and lifeless robot skeleton, his metallic heart being only for quota’s and the occasional floozy that caught his eye.

sarcasm is one of the few emotions he does understand and he employs it with a venom that reeks of defiance. without anything else on the horizon, fernando stares at his wrist. the COMFEY bracelet on his wrist grins back at him when all he does is glance at his watch. poke wear was so last year.

immaturity is a strong suit of his as well.
