You've always had a bad attitude as far as you can remember. Your parents joked about how you came out with a permanent scowl when you were born. No one really knew why, you reassure people you had a decent childhood growing up. (A lie, but no one needed to know that.) In truth, it was just that you found yourself so stressed by every little detail, everything had to be in line. Not quite obsessive-compulsive but certainly pedantic to the highest degree.

It's true that you're a passionate young man and take everything passionately. But it's that attitude that brings you your own frustrations. Though your passion lies in technology and its inner workings. That passion drove you to be the top of your class in the Goldenrod Institute of Technology. But not all successes are met with rewards. Your time in university left you riddled with debt. The stress drove you to being diagnosed with hypertension at a young age. It's not like your family was made of money, and having five kids made it all the more difficult to settle debt onto their shoulders.

So you did what any desperate graduate in search of money would do and aligned yourself with a small group of criminals that promised you cash for your services. They were proud to have you even though your piss poor attitude rubbed plenty of people in the group the wrong way, but you were a valuable asset. With them singing your praises, it wasn't long until a Rocket branch of Johto reached out for your services. The only thing that drove you into their clutches was the promise of better pay.

No surprise you were quick to jump on the offer. You didn't owe that group that originally pulled you in your loyalty. Not that you owed it to Rocket but hey, anyone with racks of cash struck your interest. The faster you could pay off your debt, the sooner you could actually make something worthwhile of yourself. Things in Johto went great in all honesty. Sure, you didn't really have the heart for the criminal acts but it was something you had no choice but to follow. So when the recruitment officer offered you a place in the Hoenn branch of Team Rocket that had begun to lose numbers, you didn't really have much of an option, did you?
