Next we meet out there, wherever that is. You bet your ass I am going to come after you and bring you in, were the thoughts in the back of his mind.

N—Temp had cast his lot in with Team Rocket, and it was clear that they had chosen sides moving forward; there was no more turning back from this.

“I was going to say it’s not too late to change your mind, but seeing as you’re already in too deep, guess I can’t say anything else about that,” he continued quietly while his Salamence got up and shook his head.

This very same Salamence was not going to take this shit lying down; therefore he would meet the rising cavalcade of rocks head-on with his own Rock Slide; an attempt to cancel the other attack that was headed his way.

While the blue-plumed Braviary would brave the waters as he’d been through far, far worse he was not going to take that sitting down either; shrieking bloody murder as he also joined the fray with a Rock Slide of his own; aiming it towards the Carracosta as if to warn the fellow Unovan Pokémon to stay out of this.

Braviary and Salamence are out on the field!

Salamence attempts to counter the Ancient Power with his own Rock Slide as cover to get back in the air; while Braviary takes the Hydro Pump head on before joining the fray with his own Rock Slide as well!

Cillian didn't need protection from Tempest. But it wouldn't stop him from doing so. It wouldn't stop him from being the shield no one else had ever tried to be for the man he loved.[break][break]

There was a fierceness there, in his gaze. Perhaps Alexei Ivanov had been more lucky than he realized when Tempest had broken up with him. The possessiveness he holds within him is dangerous and cruel. A monster had been nourished in the years since they had been together.[break][break]

While the water slammed into the Braviary, that wasn't all the water that Slushie had going for her. With the water on the ground, and since she was ignored for the moment, the Vaporeon braced herself. The sludge on the ground was pulled towards her. A wave of Muddy Water rose high on the field- trying to slam into every other pokemon.[break][break]

The rocks were canceled out, then doubled down. The force of the Rock Slide knocked the Carracosta back. She growled and hopped back, shaking herself off, and threw herself into the wave of mud that the Vaporeon had created. Sable did her best to surf on the wave, trying to slam down on the Braviary with an Aqua Tail.

The Salamence roared, before noticing that the two Pokémon were going after the Braviary—trying to knock the other out of the air with their two-force attack.

It was like the two Pokémon on his side of the field had read each other’s minds and were like ‘oh, not today!’; as the Salamence suddenly went soaring down towards the ground, baring his electrified maw as he tried to take a bite out of the Vaporeon with Thunder Fang!

Up on topside, the Braviary let out another genuine squawk of surprise; before realizing that there were two attacks headed his way! While the Muddy Water he would take; there was no way in hell he was going to let the Aqua Tail swat him down—

And right as the Carracosta came screaming up at him; he would attempt to grab the other Pokémon in his claws before soaring into the heavens with a Sky Drop attack!

“One day, Temp… you’ll realize that you were on the wrong side of everything,” he continued—but quietly, to himself. How had shit ended up like this…

Braviary and Salamence are out on the field!

Salamence flying down low to try and bite the Vaporeon with Thunder Fang; while Braviary tanks the Muddy Water, he will meet the Carracosta with a Sky Drop once the other Pokémon is close enough in an attempt to counter the Aqua Tail attack!

Instead of trying to deflect or dodge the Thunder Fang, it seemed as it Slushie welcomed it. When the Salamence tried to chomp down on her, ice was already collecting between her jaws. Even as electricity ripped through her fragile form, the Vaporeon unleashed a point-blank Ice Beam at the dragon.[break][break]

Sable, too tried to continue her Aqua Tail attack. But it seemed it wasn't meant to be, a powerful attack from the Sky Drop falling down on her. When it struck, it indented the earth around her. Clouds of smoke and dust kicked up before soaking into sludgy muck from the water on the field.[break][break]

When it cleared, Sable looked a little scraped up but nothing as serious as an attack like that should have been. Her Iron Defense giving her a metallic chrome sheen on her shell.[break][break]

Tempest watched not the battle, but Alexei Ivanov coolly. While this was a war of emotions, of letting go of the past, slowly his face had closed off. Closed off to Alexei, who they had been together, and from any help or change the other could have assisted with. Too far gone. Too far outside of reach.[break][break]

The warm brown eyes of Norman Rararie were gone, replaced with something cold and calculating. That looked at Alexei more like a predator waiting to pounce than a man might look at another.

He’d very nearly gotten swept up in the battle, keeping one side of his peripheral vision on his best two—when he realized something.

“…you were a Gym Leader before, right?” he asked; his own gaze hardening the longer he stared at… at his ex.

(One of many he’s had over the years, but shh. We don’t talk about that.)

“Tell me, were you already deep in Rocket when you decided to join for a short time, as the island village’s Gym Leader?”

He remembered that before the research vessel that had appeared there (and apparently, his partner Guillermo Marceliño had challenged and somehow won, that there was another Gym there—however it was one that seemingly took up an expansive area off-shore because of the myriad facilities it had brought back then.

(Damn it, had he really been a Gym Leader for so long?!)

While the Salamence had succeeded in sinking the electrified maw into the Vaporeon’s skin, a split-second warning offered him the chance to throw up a Protective screen, an attempt to stave off the incoming Ice Beam that would’ve wiped him out of the skies had it hit.

At the same time, the Braviary let out a warning screech in the Salamence’s direction; before dropping another avalanche of boulders in the form of a Rock Slide towards the Carracosta; waiting to see what it would do next.

Braviary and Salamence are out on the field!

Salamence throws up a Protect to stave off the incoming point-blank Ice Beam, while Braviary drops a new avalanche of Rock Slide boulders as close to the Carracosta as possible!
