the story of the yukimuras starts centuries ago, if you would believe what they have to say. they claim to be descended from kanto's last emperor, labeling themselves as royalty. they certainly have the money for it; maki's grandfather used said money to create a technological startup company, and now there's no end to the brands they own. if you have a tv, a watch, a smartphone, a computer... well, you probably owe it to the yukimuras. "yukimura" is a household name, though not every item they create is given that label. but if you follow it all the way to the top, you'll find the yukimuras are responsible for management. they are also loyal supporters of team rocket. [break][break]

maki was born into this family the middle child. her older brother was physically weak and sickly for most of his life, and her younger sister is emotionally frail and vulnerable. it fell on maki to be the responsible one, the "golden child", the one who would carry on their legacy with team rocket. as such, she was raised to be the perfect tool. she's proficient in a number of weapons as well as hand-to-hand combat, and is a competent battler who studied long and hard to get where she is today. in the eyes of her family, she's perfect. she does exactly what she's told, never complaining, and is quick to offer a kind smile and a hand up to anyone who needs it... provided they're worthy of support, of course. underneath, maki is a shell of a person. she follows orders, feeling very little even when she is ordered to kill. she derives no joy from other people's suffering, or really from anything. she doesn't care for food, or clothes, or makeup, or other worldly possessions. she does exactly what is needed. no more, no less. the only people in the world she cares about are her family, and though she's pledged loyalty to team rocket, if they were to betray the yukimuras she would turn on rocket in a flash. thankfully, given how much money the yukimuras "donate" to the cause, that will likely never happen. [break][break]

maki has already earned something of a name for herself. "hellfire princess," they sometimes call her in kanto, thanks to her connections and her lack of morality and ethics, as well as her usage of her houndoom to burn both people and evidence. the expectations for her are numerous, but she intends to fulfill all of them.
