Years in prison can change a man. [break][break]
Before, the mercenary was a brash, loudmouth who lived for money and glory. He cracked jokes often at other's expense. He was always on the hunt for a loud place to fill whatever empty place he'd never been quite able to feel. After years in a League prison, however, Kazu changed. In part because his voice was taken from him. That pride that'd been so central to his former self was stripped bare as he saw how small, weak, and insubstantial he truly was.[break][break]
After years of anger and impotent rage, Kazuya discovered calm in a puddle of piss in solitary. Now, he is comfortable with silence and solitude. However, that is not to say he does not enjoy sun and conversation. When it comes to patience, he is abnormally so. In many ways, he is the embodiment of talking softly and carrying a big stick. While he does work for Rocket, he is a man of deep honor and refuses to strike those who are unarmed. Since it is they who saved him, however, he knows there is a debt to be paid.[break][break]
Equal parts monk and ronin, he's proud to return to his homeland to try and correct all the wrong the League has done. Shortly after returning home, finding his girlfriend's hair more grey and his daughters in school, Kazuya bid them farewell. For better or worse, he was a criminal. And, well, years in prison gave him time to realize his love of his girlfriend was for everything but her skin.[break][break]
History

A former loudmouth, Kazuya joined the kindlers shortly after his 18th birthday. This was his way of carrying on a family tradition. And, for a while, he loved the job.
Was recruited by a League sponsor after they watched him dispatch a growing fire with grace and finesse
Blazed his way to champion rank, until he was fingered as a terrorist
Was tossed into a less-than-legal League prison and interrogated
Was eventually released after his ex-fiance worked with a Rocket lawyer to prove his innocence
Joined Rocket to pay off his debt to the lawyer
Discovered his sexuality and split from his fiance
Left his daughters (7,6) behind and left to Hoenn as requested
Tends to use intimidation to get his job done

A man once feared for his frightening demand of electric-type Pokemon and pint-sized warriors, Kazu was a force to be reckoned with. Many called him Raiju. Unfortunately, after being captured by the League in Johto, he was stripped down to his very essence through torture. His lifelong companions were removed from his care.[break][break]

The problem? Kazu was innocent. Not in all cases but in being part of Team Rocket.[break][break]

After this was discovered, Kazuya was allowed to walk free. But his Pokemon had been lost in the record system. His daughters gifted him a young Emolga to help him rebuild. But that is not what he wants. He wants his team back and he will do anything to get it. But, first, he must shake off the rust.
