alia was never much of a gardener, preferring to spend her time on activities that kept her more stimulated. now that she was on her feet more often than she was not, however, she was beginning to appreciate the tranquility that comes with tending a garden. this newfound peace was why alia finds herself squatting the edge of a small plot on a hot friday afternoon, plucking the weeds that tangled themselves with her crop. she was finishing the rest of her weeding when a quiet rustle stirred behind her. alia shifts her weight and turns her gaze towards the source of the sound, finding a small blue canine in its place. the riolu takes a few steps ahead despite it no longer having the element of surprise, eyeing the small berries hungrily. realizing that the riolu was in no mood for a peaceful resolution, alia tosses out a pokeball, a nimble purple bat bursting from the bright gleam of light. "send over an air slash, lani, but be careful. we don't want to hurt other people's plots," the woman warned her pokemon. alia hasn't even harvested any of her own berries yet, and she sure didn't want to be replacing anyone else's berries before she even had one of her own. the noibat swiftly gets to work, swooping towards the riolu to corner it away from the fertile soil. once she deemed it safe, she whips up a short burst of wind, inflicting enough damage for the canine to bend down in pain. using the riolu's momentary lack of focus, alia throws over an empty pokeball, engulfing the puppy in white light. while she may not be bringing home any berries today, perhaps she would be bringing back a new friend.  [break][break]
