"Now finish it!"

A young boy, barely a man, punches the air as his Riolu rushes at the Machoke and dodges its Low Kick and scratches across its face with a Metal Claw that leaves red marks that leak as it falls onto its back and doesn't get back up. A mix of cheers and jeers fill the warehouse as a young Kazimir jumps up pumping up his arms as his Riolu does the same waving its arms around as it jumps up towards Kaz who catches it in his arms. "That's the way to do it Skywalker!"

"Check this kid out! These little puppies are killing it today" One of the older men give the boy a noogie with their meaty fist. The other trainer however on the other side didn't seem to share the same sentiment as he returned his Machoke to its ball, "And I'm going to kill him!"

He raised his fist and took a swing at Kazimir who was a second too late in reacting and his head was spinning as he nearly fell to the ground. Catching himself he wiped his nose on his arm leaving a red smear on his face as his Riolu went on a barking rage in his arm at the man that hit its Trainer. "Oh yeah? You got any more 'mon for us to tackle? Or how about me and you go a round." His proclamation got the crowd around them to laugh and cheer.

[break][break] a young man, with eyebags that were in the shape of crescent-moons, was pushed into the arena.

[break][break] it was a battle royale. young men of their age group were all pushed into the arena, sent to battle with their pokemon as well as themselves. much of the young boys were caught in pokemon battles, but it was one of them in particular that grew the crowd's attention. when he shouted, they cheered.

[break][break] michail could've easily chosen one of the other, weaker contestants. but he knew that his father would not be impressed with those. no, instead, he shifted so that he was right in the redhead boy's line of sight.

Before a proper brawl could break out everyone was separated from one another and set aside to the arena to continue their little battle royal. Young men ready to prove themselves looked at each other with hungry eyes, their Pokemon sharing the same look. They were all craving it, the thrill of battle. Well all but one who looked to be the outlier of the whole bunch even as they stood in front of Kazimir and his Riolu.

"Dude you even awake to come out here?!" The young red head tilted his head with a grin as he sized the other boy up. Even if he didn't look in the best of shape he still shouldn't underestimate him. So far this little shindig was too much fun for that. "Cause ya better be alert or we'll take ya out quick, right Skywalker?!"

The Riolu lets out a bark as it charges at the Eevee with a raised fist. Or so it seemed as the fist opened up into a metal claw to swipe down on the little fox with all of its might its small body could muster even if the brown furball's growling did grate on the ears.

eyes darted upwards to look at the boisterous man. but his face was blank, void of emotion.

[break][break] "... will you?"

[break][break] the other boy was confident, and had enough emotion for the both of them. jayden didn't say much else as they began to break into battle, holding a defensive position at first.

[break][break] as the riolu launched itself at him, the eevee reacted swiftly. she darted immediately into a QUICK ATTACK, leaping onto the other's extended fist and attempting to butt her head against his.

The punch hit nothing but air yet there was still a target to be struck, sadly it wasn't their opponent. The tables turned as quick as the Eevee's movements as the headbutt knocked the little Riolu back with a growl. Even with keen senses he wasn't able to react quick enough to see it coming, "Then we'll just hit them with our own!" The young red head called out.

Shoving the Eevee away from itself the Riolu took one step to the side signaling that it was about to move when suddenly it started to speed around the little fox in circles. Its own quick attack letting it run around the little fox with ease before it came up behind it to swipe at its face. Bit of a dirty trick but where they were stuff like that was always handy to keep in the pocket to survive.

sure enough, the riolu bounced into it's own QUICK ATTACK, challenging the eevee in a test of speed. a swipe here, a punch there.

[break][break] the rest of the battle went like that as the two fought — tit for tat.

[break][break] even when the humans began to brawl too, it became clear to everyone that was watching... they were evenly matched.

'mischa, stay right here. i'll be back.'

[break][break] jayden nodded at his father's words, pausing when he caught sight of that redhead again. their match had ended in a draw, much to the disappointment of both his father and the crowd that was watching.

[break][break] but jayden was happy enough. he had fought his own against a boy that was much older and broader than him.

[break][break] his father should be happy. right?

[break][break] "you fought well," the grunt murmured, once the other was close enough.

Patching up after a brawl was always tedious work. Bandages and disinfectant were a hassle to get around these kind of places so Kaz was fortunate to find a not so dirty rag to at least wipe away the blood. Didn't stop the bleeding from his nose or the bruises he got from stinging. If he was honest they didn't hurt as much though, they were trophies from today.

What helped distract him was hearing a familiar voice call to him and looking over he saw the boy with the eevee. A smile spread on his face revealing the red stained teeth hiding underneath, "You too man! Seriously today was great!" If his voice wasn't loud enough the slap he gave to the other boy's back was probably louder, "But next time its def gonna be my win! So ya better be ready for that!"

His gaze was something fierce, eyes that threw daggers of determination at the other boy yet his smile was as wide as ever, "Ah! Name's Kaz by the way! Pa always told me its rude not ta know names in a brawl." He holds out his hand as if he'd want to arm wrestle with the other boy, but no it was an invitation for a shake between two fighters.
