[attr="class","illeana i"]while the remaining league forces continue to face obstacles, her objective of allowing entry into the caves system by having her golurk on a metal plate has long since expired. it leaves her free to handle some supply routes, running various medical necessities between multiple triage points.

interdream mist continues to spread across the island in lazy increments until everything's a hazy fog. she tries to keep her head on straight at the beginning, sure, but by now with prolonged exposure at triage locations, she feels mental faculties beginning to slightly slip.

"councilman."

her head turns and for the briefest of moments, a small smile rises. it fades as quickly as it comes.

"would you mind grabbing the box to your left please?"

the sound of exertion plumes from his chest with a sharp exhale. fernando is careful to rise with his legs, rather than his back, as he lumbers forward with a heavy crate. moments like these, physical bouts of labor dependent on humans, are sprinkled into the mix. a chance for their pokemon to rest and their wits to reset from the constant vigilance of being in a high combat zone.

a squint of his eye looks for the telltale signs a familiar red stripe. one he pays careful attention not to trip over as another set of eyes overlook their work. what seems like a moment of vulnerability is merely a doctored disguise. after all, the councilman is no stranger to ill intent interruptions.

“what else,” he asks, ready to wrap up their haul.

"there's a couple more."

a few steps forward brings her closer to two in particular. she scoops them up with ease, eyes drifting for a moment to confirm they're bandages.

"i got these two if you'd like to grab the rest?"

he can’t be bothered to parse one from another. to him, they all look the same. any significant distinction is better left to those more intimately involved with the items and what they involve. for logistics is the art of movement and supply. not the nitty gritty difference between items.

he looks to return for another load when a soft croak of his semi-invisible KECLEON warns them of potential danger. it remains unseen for now, but fernando can hear the tiny plip plops of scurrying footsteps.

he drops everything without second thought, hand reaching for the closest pokeball on his hip.

the mist is a little thicker now. she can only see vague outlines at the moment.

from the INTERDREAM MIST comes several clothed figures. while it’s impossible to identify every person on the island, the red insignia on their breast makes it abundantly clear who they represent. only the thick haze of the INTERDREAM MIST prevents them from attacking. for they too must confirm their targets.

without hesitation, fernando calls upon his GLALIE. an opener that defaults to PROTECTING them with a barrier, regardless of his commands. it knows by now why it’s called.

it is his strongest shield.

"okay."

she whispers back, finding little else to offer except acceptance.

and after juggling the boxes over to one arm, resting them against her hips, she releases her usual golurk. the discolored automaton rises through the fog like a titan, clay arms moving into a ready stance.

"go."

another whisper, though not to her partner. her golurk slips into the shadows at its feet and rises once more behind the approaching figures. phantom force finishes with the swing of a clay arm into their unsuspecting bodies.

THE PROTECT SHIELDS AGAINST NOTHING. the enemy is not able to attack on such short notice. such preparation seems meaningless but it only takes a single moment for everything to come undone.

which is what their enemies soon learn as a GOLURK flanks them from behind. one of the trainers is caught by its clothesline, sent sprawling backwards, but something else is left in their stead. for sneaking behind a whole party means diving deep into enemy numbers. underneath the GOLURK’s swinging arm is a pokemon much more diminutive.

“yippeee!”

a SCREAM TAIL, a PARADOX MON caught during the multi-day skirmish, lives up to its name before it leaps forward, looking to take a chomp into the GOLURK with its PSYCHIC FANGS.

and while she has full faith in her golurk, the urge to assist results in the releasing of her smeargle.

"help deus out, please."

the smeargle raises its tail and aims a spatial rend at the scream tail.

its "YIPPEEE!" fades into a pained cry as reality rips it to pink and red shreds. she grimaces and looks away, guilt rising for a moment.

"is there more?"
