As he strolled through the town center, his eyes were focused on each and every person he walked past. Even though you were free to challenge anyone in this city, for some reason he was usually the one to instigate the matches. Was he too intimidating to walk up to? If the battles wouldn't come to him, then he would have to bring them to others. One prime target was just up ahead. A girl that seemed to be about his age, walking ahead of him with her back turned.[break][break]

"Hey you! I challenge you to a tournament match!"[break][break]

Hopefully she would pick up the clue that he was talking to her.

Per usual, when Victoria and Osiris were out and about in Lilycove, they would snack on anything and everything they could find. Especially with the Tournament going on and so many people in the area they had tons of food trucks and things to stop by and try. Tori was enjoying a particular piping hot, cheesy corndog when she heard shouting from behind her.[break][break]

Turning she saw a looking to be around her age approaching. She had to remind herself that since the tournament was going on that more and more individuals were popping up looking to battle. "Mmm..." she hummed as she turned to face him, taking another bite out of her treat. "Sure," she said after a beat of chewing. "But if I win you're treating us to lunch too." she said with a coy smirk.[break][break]

Noel gladly accepted the conditions. He would accept anything as long as it meant the chance to battle someone in this tournament. However, he would stipulate with his own.[break][break]

"Heh, you're on. But if we win then you'll be the one to owe us instead. Now get ready because here we go!"[break][break]

Tapping the Tera orb on his belt, his Shaymin would suddenly change into its Grass Tera. The small Pokemon would take to its side of the field and start things off with an Energy Ball shot across the way towards the Lucario.

A simple bet for their battle. Once the terms were set, Tori smiled and took her place on the opposite side of her opponent. Once settled they didn't hesitate to start the battle. "Focus up." Tori said to Osiris. "Money's on the line this time." She said as she crossed her arms across her chest. [break][break]

An 'energy ball' flew towards her Lucario, but Osiris wasn't concerned. Instead, he aimed to answer it with one of his own. Putting his paws together a familiar brilliant glow began to envelop his paws before he shaped that light into a ball. The ball grew with size and when it was ready he shot the AURA SPHERE towards his opponent, in the path of the ENERGY BALL. His aim? Either they cancel each other out, or one of their moves would cut through the other. [break][break]

The two forces of power clashed against each other. Both projectiles seemed to be at a standstill and Noel waited with bated breath as to what would happen next. In order to give them the edge they needed, his Shaymin would release a Seed Flare that resonated off its body. The wavy form of energy strikes against its own ball of grass energy and pushes it further in, causing the fighting-type's move to be deflected and now be on a collision course against it.[break][break]

"There we go Shaymin! Keep on the pressure!"[break][break]

His confidence was ever growing. One slight victory was all that was needed to get into his head that this match was in his favor. If he wasn't careful, the tide could easily be changed. He had first hand in sudden surprises like this back on the resurfaced islands. However due to the lighter tone of this tournament, all of that hardship is placed in the back of his mind. Right now he was having fun, even if he goes a little overboard sometimes.

Time seemed to slow down momentarily as Tori watched on as the energy forces collided into one another, neither one relenting just yet. However that wasn't the case for long. Their opponent would managed to adjust faster and come out on top. Osiris' move was deflected as before he took the full brunt of their attack.[break][break]

It sent him tumbling back, kicking up dust as he went. Tori covered her mouth and squinted as she attempted to get a better view. "It's alright, try again!" Tori shouted. Shaking off the attack, the jackal was quick to bounce back. Twisting the mega accessory on her finger Tori decided it would be okay to start earlier rather than hold onto it. [break][break]

Bringing the ring to her lips light surrounded Osiris as he mega evolved and prepared to attack again. Osiris started to gather all the light energy within itself before firing a concentrated FLASH CANNON at his opponent. [break][break]

The sudden transformation caught the Shaymin by surprise. Blinded by the brilliant light that exuded from the now Mega evolved Lucario, it puts a paw up to shield itself from the sudden gleam. This was enough for their opponent's move to strike true. The steel-type attack crashing into the hedgehog, causing it to fly back from the impact. It lands on the ground, tumbling along as it lays down for a moment, all seemed lost for the pair. An opponent that was perhaps too strong for them to overcome.[break][break]

"Shaymin!" Noel cries out to his companion, "I know you've got some fight in you still! Just because they've powered up, doesn't mean it's over for us! Show them what you're made of!"[break][break]

The confidence oozing out of Noel trickles its way into the Shaymin's ears. With words of encouragement, it rises back into action, standing firm and proud. Energy soon begins to swell up from deep inside it, a power that soon began to overflow. Unable to control it any longer, it lets out a battle shout and fires off a Solar Beam headed straight towards the Lucario. The blast so strong it manages to push its controller back just a bit.

The move landed true, but it was still only the beginning. Just because they had managed to go through a power up didn't mean that their opponent didn't have something up their sleeves too. [break][break]

"Match it, Oz!" Victoria called out as the beam of light soared through the air and cut a path towards them. [break][break]

Once more the Lucario would gather energy within himself and shape it into a ball. This time however as the beam of light barreled towards him he continue to channel the energy into a massive AURA SPHERE above him. Once it seemed like he might just tank the hit from his opponent he through the concentrated ball of energy towards his opponent and the beam. [break][break]

This energy attack was bigger, stronger than the last. With its heightened power, Noel bet that this spirit bomb could lay waste to just about any foe. They couldn't allow themselves to get hit by this gigantic ball of of raw power. Nor could they evade out of the way, there was no getting out of this situation. They would have to use every single means of attack they could.[break][break]

"Grr... Shaymin... Use everything!"[break][break]

And everything it did use. It fired off every single one of its attacks in an effort to stave off the oncoming meteor. From grassy projectiles to power stemming from the ground, nothing seemed to be working. There was but one option left. Springing forward, it would charge directly against the attack. With a Zen Headbutt it would try to push it back using its own body. There was no telling whether this would be effective or not, but they had to at least try.

This match was surprisingly neck and neck. However, Victoria no longer had her ace. After using up so much energy from that last attack, Osiris could no longer maintain it's mega form. "Are you okay?" Tori asked Oz in concern and he nodded. It was clear that he was exhausted. "You've done well." she said softly, but loud enough for him to hear.[break][break]

Looking at their opponents she nodded. "Give it a little bit more." She said with a nod as she looked back at their opponents. While the shaymin rushed forward, Osiris gathered his energy and steeled his resolve before meeting his opponent in CLOSE COMBAT. A barrage of punches, kicks, and jabs were sent their way.[break][break]

Though tired, Osiris was no quitter. He'd continue to attempt and give it his best.

The lupine Pokemon rushed in with a flurry of all sorts of attacks ranging from punches to kicks against Noel's Shaymin. Unable to predict the move in time, its subjugated to every single form of attack and is left bruised and beaten. Yet the Lucario didn't let up still, even after being tormented to such an assault it continues on until victory was assured for them.[break][break]

Pushed back by one final punch, it rolls across the floor and lays there lifeless for a moment. All seemed lost for the young trainer and his companion.[break][break]

"One more push Shaymin! I know you can do it!"[break][break]

Wincing in pain, the hedgehog attempts to rise back up. Not wanting to disappoint its trainer, it would see this through to the end with one final act. Using up the rest of however much energy it still had left in its body, it releases one more Seed Flare towards their opponent. Their signature move would have to hit or else they were done for.

"Last push!" Tori cheered for Oz while he gathered together the rest of the energy he had left. Both of them were on their last legs but as the Lucario pulled together light from around him and within and molded it, he decided that his last move would at least be dazzling. Light continued to gather turning into a blinding brilliance before he shaped it into the beam FLASH CANNON that they had seen before.[break][break]

Victoria held her breath as she watched, shielding her eyes a bit. The battle was intense but this last move was for all the marbles. Who would come out on top? Who would owe the other lunch? It was all up to fate to decided. But Tori prayed that lady luck could be on her side just once more.[break][break]

Both attacks manage to land against their mark on each other. A dust cloud obscures the vision from both trainers. For a while, neither are certain whether they had just won or not. Their Vital Gears had yet to determine the winner and Noel waited with bated breath. This was it. After a grueling match the suspense was rising over who came out on top. But then, the debris clears away, and Noel's Shaymin stands proud and strong while the Lucario is left lying on the floor. They had achieved victory.[break][break]

"Yes!" Noel exclaims aloud, jubilant over their performance. His Shaymin runs to his side, climbing onto his clothes to rest atop his shoulder. Noel then turns to the other challenger and gives a warm smile across his face.[break][break]

"That was a great match. I honestly thought you were going to win for a second. Don't forget about our promise though! You owe us some food Ms... Ms... Uh... Sorry I don't think I ever got your name."
