Noodle chirped merrily, but didn't linger by his trainer's heels once the sprawl of the space opened up to them. Darting forward, the feline wasted no time in leaping into the brush with excited purrs and mrrps. Star-tipped tail poking out and swishing through the foliage.[break][break]

Lam laughed, unable to blame the little guy. He was happy for the sun to be back out with more force too - the snows of winter finally starting to melt away to spring.

"Ah! Hi puppy!!" Though Lam gravitated more often to birds and felines, who could resist an adorable, wiggly yamper?? He immediately stooped to the ground, arms open to welcome the pupper. The yamper yipped and tumbled forward, eager to collect belly rubs - wild pokemon or not. Its tail wagged madly. Meanwhile, his shinx watched from nearby, and fixed the canine with an obvious stink eye.

An oranguru lazily observes the exchange from the shade nearby. Unfortunately for it, Lam is equally as enthralled when he spots it. “Monkey! There’s lots of good picks today, huh?” He points at it and the pokemon blinks back, startled. But it is not so quick. “Quick! Stun it!” Not wanting to be out done by the electric puppy, Noodle darts out before the yamper can even let out a little woof. lam remembers to tap it with a pokeball.[break][break]

The shinx meanwhile stops the oranguru’s hasty escape with a zippy WILD CHARGE. “That’s my guy!” Lam praises, scooping him up once another safari ball is tossed. Noodle is merely pleased the yamper is now contained and nowhere to be seen. He purrs loudly in contentment.

Pleased with the praise he received, Noodle trotted back to Lam, head held high and little chest puffed. Decisive chirps and mrrows followed as bright amber eyes blinked up at his trainer, as if to say, Yeah! That’s right! I’m much more impressive than that wild dog!. Chin tilting up, the shinx received the scratches Lam offered gladly.[break][break]

A shadow overhead pulled his attention up— “Ooh! Bird!” Par for the course, Lam pointed up and Noodle knew what to do. As Lam readied a safari ball, electricity surged around the feline and he soon zapped the flying type right out of the sky with a bolt of THUNDER.

More praise is bestowed upon the shinx, who glows (literally) under that positively. His little chest puffs, and he doesn’t even play nip at Lam’s hands when he’s abruptly scooped up for tummy scratches. Purrs rumble from his throat and he is content to be carried along down the path for a spell—tail swishing in his delight. He doesn’t even try to wiggle loose and go toe to toe with the koffing that floats by.

[attr="class","body"]As they wandered, their path turned in the direction of the main gate— but a sniffling wail pulled them off the path to some nearby bushes.[break][break]

“Awww…lil baby,” he cooed at the toxel, who seemed unfazed by the efforts to calm it. Its TEARFUL LOOK clearly affected not just Lam, but Noodle too. The little shinx wiggled free of Lam’s arms. Hopping down, the shinx trotted up to the toxel with comforting purrs as he rubbed his cheek against the baby Pokémon’s.[break][break]

Slowly but surely, the toxel calmed down, and Lam bent to scoop both of the smaller Pokémon up.
