The pumpkaboo makes the first move, springing forward to intercept the pokemon as it flies out from its hiding place. Before either of them can truly determine what has happened the pumpkin has given made thorough use of his frisk, failing to find anything worthy of note in the other pokemon's possessions. Evan can tell by how quick the pokemon is to huff and get indignant with the wild pokemon about it. Almost as if the bird has done something wrong by having nothing on them.

Evan is laughing until the wild pokemon seems to annoy his pokemon further, resulting in something he should have expected. The looming shadow sneak reaches up and slaps the pokemon from the sky.

The Xatu has its chance to escape while he scolds the pumpkaboo for being mean. It is in no way another pokemon's fault that he found nothing and if he's going to fight them he at least needs to be more polite about it.

While he's busy the houndour catches wind of something else nearby, curious the pokemon wanders off from the pair in search of whatever has peaked its interest. Quick and quiet the hound finds it's prey with ease, the bipedal pokemon lurking about and seeking something. The pokemon's minds starts rolling over ideas, a nasty plot forming in it's head as it contemplates what to do next.

It takes notes from the pumpkaboo instead of evan, a boisterous inferno catching the wild pokemon by surprise. It lashes out and the hound lunges in with a thunder fang, catching the claws striking out against it. The pokemon howls and seizes, unprepared for the electrical attack after the fire.

Evan comes running with the pumpkaboo ahead of him, the pair are just in time to see the houndour circling it's prey and taunting it, having made good use of it's surprise attack.

Evan makes a note as he tosses the pokeball, that he'll have to watch this pup. They're a smart on.
