sometimes, one must persuade themselves to be away from others. although others may isolate themselves with fragile limbs, elijah's well-practiced with thicker skin. his retreat is scarred over. a trail made by no urban order, but by the quiet shuffling of feet.

he wanders the outskirts of slateport city. reconstructed and rebuilt, the appearance suggests a revitalization of sorts. and yet, his gothitelle can FRISK stolen trinkets hidden away in the pockets of silent thieves. a city may look clean.

yet, the people could be anything but.

with his gothitelle in tow, elijah weaves in between the alleys of abandoned warehouses.

his gothitelle learns from her environment. here, in the shady outskirts of slateport, she practices what the people preach through their bodies. their askance looks.

elijah raises a finger to the gothic mademoiselle. hushes her from quietude to silence- and alerts her to the pangoro. the beast leans against a grimy wall, chewing its bobbing stalk: a potent ingredient.

her dress seemingly floats as she moves forth. her approach is silent. and as soon as she's close, she uses THIEF to snatch the herb away.

the pangoro would have struck if not for the planned telekinesis. as the panda floats in the air, elijah and his partner disappear back into slateport shadows.

although they retreat into the umbrage for stealth, it is no sanctuary. for the alleys of slateport do not discriminate between friend or foe. the dark, both eternal and transcient, is the grandest equalizer.

even without psychic powers, elijah's eyes alert him to imminent danger. his gothitelle needs rest; her senses are worn by the adrenaline like thinned leather.

he cries out to his companion and leaps ahead of her. a houndoom matches the movement, and while elijah is faster, the hell hound has the advantage of being its own weapon. the dogs jaws clamp onto elijah's forearm.

as rivulets of blood stream down his wounds, his gothitelle acts. TELEKINESIS removes the canine's fangs from punctured skin. spirred by elijah's seething breath, she slams the canine between the walls of the alleyway with PSYCHIC. the dog's body crumples after the third impact.

with his damp arm, he throws a pokeball.
