[attr="class","knoxpost"]this is what you do, knox. and pretty soon, you can be damn sure she'll leave you, too. it's red's voice in his head, behind his eyes. her curling smile, smug & smirking & knowing full well this is how it would turn out--this is how everything in his life will turn out.

he will be abandoned and shunned and exiled and all he can do is drown.

he's not turned back to the needle, not yet. but he's blown all his smuggling money on snow and he hasn't eaten in days and there's an anger cresting his brow that he can't hide.

passersby avoid him as he walks, steadied by his pikachu.

he yells at the first competent trainer he sees.

A yell startled Monty, caused him to grip his chest and gasp. "Sweet Arseus--" he growled, then glared over at who had yelled at him.[break][break]

Monty was just minding his own damn business when somebody yelled at him. Somebody, who now that Monty was taking this somebody in, looked a little strung out. Maybe stressed? He knew one thing for sure.[break][break]

"Two on two." He called back, then tossed out his Claydol, catching the luxury ball as his Claydol hovered in the air, eyes blinking, head turning, ascertaining what might be laid out before it as an 'enemy' for this battle.

[attr="class","knoxpost"]he'd attempted the same thing nearly half an hour ago and all that had gotten him was a strange look, a clutch of a bag, and a hasty escape from the other person. and he can't figure out why, but it makes sense people are afraid of him. it makes sense that people turn and run.

they must know. they must know what he's done. they must know what he's capable of.

he scrunches his nose and captain steps out hesitantly in front of him, waiting for knox to call her back, to realize she's not going to be very effective against the clay monstrosity in front of him.

his tunnel vision is terrible, but his incompetency at least has him leaning on his second most trusted pokemon. he calls his vaporeon to battle. the blue fox shakes out her slick fur as she emerges, sizing up her opponents.

knox, grateful that someone is up for his games, bows, sideways smile, eyes glittering. he harks a laugh and waves and says, "huh, you're kinda cute. i'll give you first move."

"Only 'kind of'?" Monty asked with a curious brow risen, and admittedly, a flirty little smirk. "I must be losing my touch with all this traveling." Clearing his throat, he gave the man across from him a charming smile. "You may regret that, but I'll take it."[break][break]

The idea of being sweaty and gross while trudging through routes made Monty frown. What a terrible puberty that had been...[break][break]

Memories of darker days aside, Monty supposed he would toss out his Chandelure, Gala, to fight beside Chasm. He really liked double battles with these two, mostly because of his 'minimize or die' strategy with his Chandelure working so damn well in this sort of scenario.[break][break]

"Chasm, break the earth. Gala, give him some cover."[break][break]

The unfair advantage that Monty had was frequently battling enough to understand you don't shout out move names, it's a rooky mistake. Half a second can change an entire battle. So, Chasm used earth power as he was basically commanded and Gala let loose a confuse ray on the biggest threat, the Vaporeon.[break][break]

Monty knew good and well that his Chandelure was not immune to the effects of Chasm's earth power, but he also knew that Chasm would wait until Gala was finished with her confuse ray to use the move. It would leave he and Knox with only one pokemon remaining, which would make for an interesting battle.

[attr="class","knoxpost"]oh, this boy is certainly up for his flirty games. he totters a bit on his feet, suddenly feeling lightheaded. but he catches himself as the battle starts, leans over after rolling on the soles of his shoes, clasping his hands in front of his body.

captain readies herself as orders are sent flying from their combatant. she knows, at this point, not to expect the same from knox. but she's as tough as knox's twin sister, with just as much smarts in her.

she reacts quickly, tail swishing out before her so she can blast a barrier in front of herself. she doesn't have enough time to get out of the way, or protect her ally, who hadn't even been the target at all.

the rocks, flung up by willpower, lose their velocity as they pass through the screen, but still they pound her. she rolls backwards, over herself, and struggles to come to a stand. her cheeks flare with electricity, with her exertion.

there's a flash of anger in her eyes, at the meaninglessness of this all, but her loyalty keeps her on the field, facing her own defeat.

meanwhile, blue attempts to take cover under the rocks, but she's stuck in her tracks, confused by the mesmerizing flames that billow before her. captain utters a cry and she attempts a blast of water in the chandelure's direction, fighting through the fog.

"Gala!"

The call is enough to have the chandelure ducking out of the way of the flood of water, it barely manages to graze her, leaving her unscathed and open.

"Finish off the pikachu, Chasm let's get destroy the vaporeon, stop it in its tracks!"

No hesitation in their movements, each pokemon does as their told. A hex is used against the poor weak pikachu, chandelure is sure to move close to the pikachu in an attempt to perhaps protect it from the rest of the fight while she uses her next move against the electric mouse.

Chasm gives the Vaporeon no spare moments, striking with extrasensory, in hopes to case the water-type to flinch.
