the place looks different with the snow. he misses the OG hoenn weather and wishes for the worst of the winter weather to pass quickly.

he brings his jolteon with him cause he has grown attached to the name bailey gave it. it was stupid and probably not something he'd say in public without getting embarrassed, but it was the cute kind of stupid that will make people think a ten year old was the one that gave it that name.

it wears a sweater cause it's cold outside.

a munchlax challenges them and blocks the way. its audacity and barbaric balls to oppose them got kyle to get his jolteon to attack it instead of just ignoring it.

"use double kick! we need to get that prompt, miss pine!"

he cringes at the name, but is thankful that no one else is there to hear him utter his jolteon's name out loud.

the jolteon pops out of the layer of snow, runs forward and turns sharply. her hinds legs face the munchlax's face, withdrawing them, and then unleashing a fierce double kick. it sends the munchlax away as it sinks into the snow, never to be seen again.

kyle runs away from it in case miss pine actually killed it.

she didn't.

kyle continues to walk his jolteon just to see it waddle in the snow when it suddenly stops. its fur starts to bristle, growling at a tree nearby, before firing off its pin missile at it.

"miss pine? good job! that's another prompt down!"

as kyle cheers for his jolteon, the culprit shows itself.

"the fuck is this?"

the pokemon wasn't familiar to him at all. he guesses it's from galar or something. he makes a mental note to study these kinds of pokemon when he gets a free time so he doesn't look ignorant in front of others. maybe he can even act smart once he does.

"anyways, we're capturing it. discharge."

electricity catches it, setting it with paralysis. the attack renders it injured with burns, though it still manages to keep itself afloat. for a moment, however, its wings start to act up from the status condition. eventually it crashes to the ground.

kyle takes the moment of its vulnerability to throw a pokeball at it.
