he plays with the pokeball on his hand, tossing it up and down in the air as he traverses the route. it was a standard afternoon stroll, except kyle was rather bored.

his head turns to every corner, trying to look for that one landmark to tell him his bearings within the wilderness. while he knows his way back, he doesn't exactly know how to get to his destination without this landmark.

this is why he hates nature trips like this. signal was weak, if there were any at all, so the gps doesn't work. if he wanted to get anywhere outside of network coverage, he has to manually utilize the map instead of just letting the gps track his location for him.

an ice-type appears. it notices them as soon as he notices it, and in a typical wild pokemon fashion, it attacks them with great aggression.

kyle has anticipated ice-type pokemon to find freedom throughout the entire region with the hellish weather plaguing it. he sends out a fire-type against it, partly to counter them but mostly to keep himself warm the next time he finds himself trapped in a blizzard once again. only a single command is given to the flareon he released.

"flare blitz."

the fire-typed eeveelution charges straight towards the crabominable, dodging a straight hook from close combat with detect. finding an opening soon after, it coats its body with flames before tackling the ice-type. the flames spread from the flareon to the crabominable.

kyle saves the wild pokemon from an untimely death with a throw of a pokeball.
