Bo had heard about the night market from one of the guys at her last job. He went on about it as they installed wiring in a new building until their conversation was very loudly interrupted by a gurgling from her stomach. She couldn’t help it when all his comments somehow circled back around to how amazing the food was. Best food she’d get around here -- if you asked him.

She couldn’t help her curiosity. Good people, good vibes, and - most importantly - good food.

The sun was just starting to set on a hard day’s work when Bo had decided she would splurge a little. She and Barr headed straight from the construction site to Slateport’s lower district to investigate her co-worker’s claims.

Barr drifted behind Bo as she picked her way through the district. He took moments to peek here and there but was never too far from his partner. It wasn’t quite time for all the sights and sounds and holiday lights -- Bo had wanted to see the area for a bit first. The city already felt big enough. She couldn’t imagine walking through such a lively place at night, with no idea how to get from one place to another.

The little magnemite had stopped his whimsical drifting and seemed to be focused on some crates that had been piled just outside of an alleyway. Bo gave a short whistle indicating it was time to go -- at least from this spot. And so Barr left the Plusle to it’s hiding place and drifted back towards his partner as she continued down the street in the fading daylight.

The sound of cold, hard metal clashing brought Bo to a standstill. She didn’t really have to turn around did she? If she pretended like Barr hadn’t gotten into anything then would she really have to deal with it? She knew better. With a begrudging groan, she decided it was time to turn and face the music.

She was not expecting to see Barr stuck to the face of another steel-type pokemon via one of his magnets, gyrating as Klang’s gears turned. But that was what she was faced with. It took her a moment of blankly watching Barr spin around before she moved towards the pair. It didn’t seem like the Klang was hostile by the way it just sat, spinning its gear and allowing Barr to jut off of itself. ”Uh, Barr, whatcha doing there, bud?” The magnemite mumbled a reply but continued to spin like a spit roast.

”Are you stuck?” She’d never seen the magnemite get “stuck” to anything but an electrical outlet. She reached up and gingerly tried to separate the two. No luck. She scratched her head and watched the two a bit longer. What was happening?

”Time to go, bud.” She turned to leave, took a few steps, and peered over her shoulder. Still no luck.

The pair sat there, spinning, while Bo tried “walking away” a few more times -- to no avail. Finally, she shrugged. ”Do you just want to come with us?” Her question as directed at the Klang but Barr responded by detaching himself from the Klang and whirring around it and singing (or what Bo thought was singing) in his flat, robotic voice as he circled the gear pokemon.

tldr: attempting to befriend/capture (or, at least Barr is...)
