kyle wants more. four dogs weren't enough. it wasn't always that the safari had this selection, and with three of them being high on his priority list, kyle cannot compromise and skip out on some of the highly sought targets.

the same mightyena accompanies him for the second part of his trip. time was still ticking. the multiple tickets he bought gave him more balls than what one would normally have inside the premise of the facility. the only ending this trip would have is him going home with at least a dozen new dogs.

"dog! that's a dog, echo!"

the mightyena shares the contagious joy his trainer experiences from seeing the riolu. he doesn't really get why, but echo exhibits signs of excitement just from hearing his trainer's voice. it jumps up and down, ears perked up and tail wagging, as it looks at the riolu from far away, too scared to make any further movement.

"yawn!"

the dark-type releases a yawn, and the riolu manages to catch it. it rubs its eyes and starts to run away from the trainer and his pokemon. kyle knows he doesn't have to chase after it after having planted the condition on the fighting-type.

kyle nudges his pokemon to move with a jerk of his head before leading him to where the riolu went. he gets a bark as a response, and follows the canine as it tracks the wild riolu with its nose. it doesn't take long before it leads them to an asleep riolu.

the elite four approaches it with a pokeball ready on his hand, which he then uses to capture the sleeping pokemon.

just as kyle picks up the pokeball containing the riolu, the shifting of the grasses behind him alerts him to a wild pokemon's presence. he immediately turns around, eyes wide, as he exclaims the single word that encapsulates his excitement for the whole safari trip.

"dog!"

his mightyena picks up his trainer's enthusiasm and quickly whips his head around, finding a poochyena wandering around, stopping in place to stare at the overly hyperactive trainer and his obedient pokemon.

their eyes meet, and echo is quick to take action.

a shadow ball is formed and shot at the poochyena without wasting a moment. his target is too surprised to move, making no other action besides sound a yelp when it hits.

a cloud of dust appears from the collision, and kyle reaps his rewards by throwing a pokeball at it.

the wooloo bleats endlessly, as if trying to catch the attention of the elite four. unfortunately, it doesn't work.

kyle picks up the pokeball of his most recent capture and continues to trudge along, looking for another dog instead. while sheeps were almost close to dogs since they're four legged, they're not really dogs.

he ignores the sheep like the livestock that it was.

his disinterest in the wooloo contrasts the bright eyes in his face when he spots a growlithe. "dog!" he yells one more time.

echo matches his fervor. the same energy given by the yell is exemplified with the mightyena's own version as it shoots a hyper voice at the growlithe's direction.

the fire-type keels over when the attack connects. it crumples on the ground, enduring the attack until it was over, stopped with kyle physically shutting his pokemon up with a forceful grip over his mightyena's maw.

kyle hears a ringing in his ears, but they're nothing he wasn't used to. he usually recovers after a few minutes or so, longer if he's unlucky and his mightyena was in the mood for shouting when he gets in battle.

as he waits for it to return to normal, he tosses a pokeball at the growlithe.

"...this isn't a dog."

his hand flicks in a way as if shooing the wild pokemon they just encountered. his pokemon watches his trainer before switching his sights on the tepig. he decides the best course of action is to roar at it, scaring it away.

the deafening noise did do it's job.

"the fuck?!" kyle shouts at his pokemon, partly due to defective hearing and mostly because he didn't like his action.
