his obstagoon stops from its tracks, and kyle gets tugged when his pokemon decides to confront the wild pokemon before him.

kyle grumbles. "what do you wa--" he stops his words when he turns his head in the same direction as the one his obstagoon is staring at. he finds himself looking at the shiny houndoom, growling at them as if to threaten. it reminds him of his two other shiny houndours, even the growling. it was endearing.

"yeah! fight it!" the obstagoon roars in delight. kyle takes his phone back to his face. "let's see what you got..."

the pokemon goes to face the other dark-type head on, charging straight at it as it swings its arms with its legs as it runs.

the houndoom sees the challenge and breathes an inferno of flames at the obstagoon. it causes severe burns all over the galarian pokemon's body, but it doesn't slow him down. the wild pokemon finds itself before an obstagoon crashing towards him, meeting a cross chop as it loses consciousness.

"oh. uh. okay."

kyle doesn't follow up with his statement and quickly takes a pokeball out to try and kidnap the shiny houndoom away from its family in the wild. his eyes wander to see his obstagoon walk away, probably in search for more wild pokemon to kick.
