"Ok, bud, let's start with something easy."

Bo smiled at the growlithe in front of her. The fire-type sat firmly on his bottom, staring flatly at his new pokemon trainer. The two did not have the most trusting relationship. Bo credited it to the way they met -- something she wasn't the happiest with. She was hoping, though, that some training might break down some of the weariness between them.

She took several large steps back and motioned towards Brooks. "Come." She held her hand out in front of her, pinching a small piece of pokefood between her fingers. After a few moments of no response, Bo moved back towards him and let him smell the treat in her hand. He sniffed her fingers and seemed interested in what she had.

Good. Now, she back up again and repeated: "Come"

Bo waited patiently for the growlithe to catch on. The pokemon looked between her hand and her face. He was interested in what she had but still wasn't convinced enough to move. She clicked her tongue at him to keep his attention. It still didn't work.

But her patient coaxing quickly ended as a krookodile came meandering up behind Brooks. "Uhm, come here, bud." There was more urgency in her voice and yet the growlithe did not move. "Brooks, come." Bo's gaze bounced between the growlithe and the krookodile that was creeping closer and closer. Still, the growlithe did not move. "Alright, you stubborn boy." She hustled over to him and set the treat in front of his nose.

It was clear that they had the krookodile's attention but Bo really didn't want to get into any sort of fight. Especially not with Brooks being so weary of her. The growlithe opened his mouth to take a bit of the treat and she instinctively moved it back while also guiding him forward with a hand.

"That's right, good boy." The pair hurried forward in an odd huddle, with her holding the treat just out of Brook's reach, until Bo felt like the krookodile had lost interest. "Stand." she said gently as they slowed and then she said it again more firmly as they stopped all together.

She was sure the growlithe was not actually listening to the commands but he had moved with her and that was something. She let him have the treat and prepared to start again.

Just as she got herself ready to start again, yet another pokemon caught her attention trudging through the bushes along side them. She had the treat ready - although she hadn't tried to get Brooks' attention just yet. She sighed, assuming she would have to guide her growlithe away in yet another weird, hobbled-over "walk". She crossed the distance between herself and Brooks but stopped when a chansey came waddling out. An odd sight -- or, at least, it was for her. Bo hadn't seen too many healing pokemon outside of pokecenters.

A moment's thought gave Brooks enough time to react to the Chansey. He jolted towards the other pokemon and Bo grasped for him. He'd been aggressive with some pokemon and the thought of him tearing into a chansey made her stomach turn. All she could manage was a garbled "No!" and to trip over her own feet before the growlithe had made it to his target.

She lifted herself off the ground to see Brooks sat happily in front of the chansey -- who in turned teetered happily from side to side. She watched the two with a hint of skepticism before slowly approaching.

"Well, Brooks, this is different. Guess we'll have to see if this one might way to come along where ever it is we're going." Another heavy sigh, this time at the thought of being so aimless. "What do ya think?" She said, lifting the poketreat towards the Chansey.
