Try, Try Again [SW]
POSTED ON Feb 4, 2020 1:13:22 GMT
It didn’t come as a surprise when Bip bounced daintily across the gap, nuzzled the treat from Bo’s hand, and brushed lovingly against her leg. Brooks, on the other hand, was still not interested in moving. He eyed her from his spot on the grass, although not as wearily as he had before.
She was sure Bip’s cheery attitude would soften up the growlithe but there he was, an unwavering force watching her with little interest.
”Ok, ok, let’s try again.” She clicked her tongue at Bip and led the wooloo back to her spot beside Brooks. ”Here, boy.” she said holding the treat just in front of Brook’s nose. He sniffed it and nipped at her fingers while she instructed Bip to have a seat. That must have been it -- he hadn’t realized she was holding the treat (nevermind his sense of smell). ”Stay.” she said firmly and then hurried back across the grass.
Once again she held her hands low and announced: ”Come”. And once again the growlithe planted himself firmly in his spot while the wooloo pranced over to take her reward. ”What?” Her question was soft and a little hurt.
She decided to try again. But this time, as her wooloo crossed the way so did another, faster pokemon. Bo didn’t see the wild pokemon until it was at her hand, chomping on her fingers to get at the treat. She let go of the treat and whipped her hand back. Bip reacted just as quickly - turning on the absol with a takedown and bowling all three of them over.
Bo scrambled to get back on her feet as the pair of pokemon struggled against each other. ”Bip, enough.” The wooloo withdrew and pranced back to Bo’s side without a moment of hesitation.
The trio watched the absol as it looked between them in confusion. The redhead was a bit confused herself. Why hadn't the pokemon run off? Then it nervously low-crawled it’s way towards her. Maybe it was hungry? It was licking it’s maw -- though she couldn’t really tell if that was from hunger or nervousness. She decided to test her theory, fished another treat from her pocket, and tossed it to the wild pokemon.
