No, seriously, what was this beauty? Between the flashing lights, mean looking Pokemon, and some tough personages, he wasn't sure what he liked the most! For the hundredth time, he thanked his lucky stars he signed up for this task. "Ensure the Battle Tent stays lucrative" sounded boring, but what it really meant was shake things up as a new competitor! Of course he'd win though, but nobody needed to know that!

"Hey, Three." The Cranidos let out a squawk and looked up at his suddenly wild-eyed face, twitching with an almost paranoid yet excited energy, and it looked up at him adoringly, "Show them not to mess with us."

And as a battle ended and the cage was opened wide for new fighters, a little prehistoric beast snorted and kicked, ready for battle.

sure pokenger would take to this underground battle arena with a mighty volt tackle of justice, kazimir wynter would use it to have a bit of fun. he was still a trainer at heart, and deeper inside of him a fighter. battles were fun, they were part of his past and lifestyle after all. hearing about this hardcore place to battle lit a fire underneath him that urged him to at least try it out. he knew a few of his pokemon were always itching for a brawl and that a few of them were happy to take total delight in thrashing opponents of similar or stronger power.

as the cages went down he looked down at his pikachu who was looking ready to go, especially in his newest get up. "ok sparx, get out there and show that little dino that your the toughest mouse there is!" with a thumbs up he ran out into the arena and did a tail whip to let the rock dino know that he wasn't scared of him and ready for anything he could throw at him.

"Oooh, well, he got you beat in the style department, huh?" Rex nearly laughed out loud at the Cranidos' offense at the Tail Whip, and he shook the cage to get its attention. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go get 'em! Chip Away!" Angered as it was, his Pokemon was glad to obey, and launched forward.

In all honesty, he was less confident in the little dino than he would have been otherwise. Three was fast, yet strong, perfect for fighting big, lumbering beasts he could run circles around. A little Pikachu that looked quite scrappy was not in that category.

...but Three didn't need to know that, and wouldn't know how to deal with such a fact anyway. Three did what only a Cranidos knew how to do, break everything. It's charge towards Sparx seemed on the verge of missing, and then suddenly it lashed out with a kick, a comparatively weaker attack as it shot past the Pikachu, but valuable for testing and breaking through defenses.

Three uses Chip Away!

kazimir liked sparx, the pikachu had a lot of moxie in him. if it wasn't apparent from his display of his tail wagging at his opponent then it was at how he managed to take the dino's attack in stride. it hurt sure, but a simple kick wasn't going to bring him down as he slid against the ground lightly and glared at the craniados. with his cheeks glowing the pikachu let out a cry as he released a wave of thunder from his body. "yeah that's the way! slow him down sparx!"

the lighting danced around around the arena looking for its mark, should it hit the dino would feel the sting of a battle maniac pikachu and be paralyzed from either the fear of fighting such an opponent or from the electricity running through its body. sparx was hoping that it was the former that caused it to stop in its tracks.

tldr; sparx is hit with chip away!

"Three. Three? Three, you-oh, you idiot." Rex's voice held a resigned tone to it because, in reality, he was not surprised that such a small brain did not make a smart move. For Three whipped its head around and followed the arching electricity, even watching it as it raced towards it from the side...whereupon Three snorted and stomped on the little lightning, and then had the audacity to look shocked (pun not intended) when its leg stiffened as if held by chains, moving only with forceful effort.

Impotent frustration filled Three's eyes with tears as it wobbled, and Rex suddenly drew away from the cage and slammed his hands over his ears. A wise choice, given the noise that came out of the Cranidos. As if crying, it let out a horrific squeal, the Screech shaking the cage through sheer force of sound. Even with a leg that refused to move decisively, the Cranidos continued to limp forward, trying to close the gap between the Pikachu and it as it wailed.

Three uses Screech!

seeing the craniados get hit with its electricity and try to wobble its way towards the pikachu sparx himself couldn't help but do a little shuffle towards it. he was going to win this battle easy! his confidence was at an all time high right now! so it sucked pretty bad that a loud screech shattered it completely as his ears were ringing. sparks let out his own screech and saw that it was the small dino who was doing it, and that was when a decision was made.

he lowered himself towards the ground, both his fingers and toes touching the ground before he shot ahead. his body came to life with the crackle of electricity that encased his small body as he made a beeline for the craniados. "pika piiiiiii!" with his war cry he launched himself into the small dino ready to give it an even bigger shock than before.
tldr; sparx is hit with screech!

There was no dodging the Wild Charge, even Three knew that. Instead, Three steadied its good leg and screwed his eyes shut, head forward like it was challenging another Cranidos. The impact was even comparable.

Three seemed to fall back, lightning crackling over its body, then suddenly plunged forward. An Assurance, not even ordered by Rex. The attack was pure instinct, as far as Three knew, when another Cranidos charged it, it was also hurt. Thus, it had to make sure of the damage, hence, Assurance.

With the crackling lights and lightning pouring from the cage, the crowd cheered, the feisty Pikachu and determined Cranidos clearly a great show. Needless to say, the two had spiced things up with a neck to neck battle like this.

Three uses Assurance!

sparx's head collided with the craniados' head and boy if there was a picture of the definition of hard headed craniados sure would be the example because that hurt. sparx was pretty sure he was seeing stars around his head as he stood there dazed after his attacked connected which left him open to getting a good dose of a doubly powered assurance from the dino. it didn't just send him reeling back but really rolling back as he was knocked almost up against the wall.

getting back onto his feet the pikachu glared at the dinosaur with daggers. oh this little punk thought he was all that? thought he was the toughest 'mon here did he? well this mouse is gonna show why its species was still around and the dinos went extinct! "piiiiiiiiiiikaaaaaaa!" the electricity stored in his cheeks erupted all around him as a single bolt of lightning shot out of his body with a loud crack of thunder. sure sparx had much more powerful moves but he wanted to watch this dino twitch in defeat!

Three was a tough Pokemon, and its rock-type body gave it some resistances to the electric attacks, but the damage was starting to build. The Thunder ripped into the little dino, who stood stock-still and simply took the attack, trembling as it took a shuddering breath.

The rippling chains of electricity around its paralyzed leg suddenly intensified, and Three fell to its knee, looking unable to rise in a crucial moment. Rex clicked his tongue as his mind raced, and he came up with a quick idea, thrashing the cage until Three's eye rolled over to look at Rex. "Focus Energy!"

While the little dino couldn't move, an orange energy threaded around its head as it prepared for another attack.

Three uses Focus Energy!

"alright ya got him on the ropes. let's wrap this up sparx, hit him with a good one!" from the other side of the fences kazimir was rattling the iron cage as well, encouraging the pikachu to make sure that the dino wouldn't stand up from this next attack. sparx let more electricity gather around him at the words of his trainer, this time he was going to give it his all!

one powerful wild charge out to be enough to finish the job. even with the dino doing whatever it was that made his head glowed the pikachu was confident. taking a runner's stance on the ground the pikachu rushed forward with electricity surging all around it once again in a familiar move. "yeah baby, go go go!"

tldr; sparx uses wild charge!

A thidding of hands and feet thundered rhythmically around the cage, the blood-thirsty audience sensing the end of the clash as the Pikach shot forward like a lightning bolt.

Three charged too, pushing off the ground with one leg as its rocky head seemed to mold even harder than before, "Head Smash!" Rex called at the moment of impact, and what an impact it was. For a brief moment, the two were too bright to look at with the naked eye, and an odd popping noise signaled the little Cranidos shooting backwards, blackened skin falling off like rubble. The cage bent dangerously on impact, and deposited the fighter on the ground.

Three didn't get back up.

"Awww, dammit. Guess you beat him more in just style, huh, rockstar?" Rex called playfully, pressing up against the warming metal to try and see his Pokemon's superior. To see, so he'd remember next time.

Three uses Head Smash! Three is unable to battle!

the flash of lightning blinded kazimir enough that he had to look away. at the sound of something hitting metal and a loud pop he forced himself to gaze into the dazzling light to see it fade away and reveal that sparx was the one left standing. the craniados was off slumped against a large dent in the fence. talk about a display of power, he didn't even know sparx could lay someone out like that.

"way to go sparx!" kazimir cheered as he raced into the arena to pick up and hug his pikachu who just flexed his arms in his trainer's grip. that's when he got a sight of the opposing trainer and walked up to them with a smile, "hey man that was a pretty good battle. hope my boy didn't mess up yours too much. maybe when he's well rested and gotten a bit better we can have a rematch?" he wouldn't mind another battle with this dude and his gutsy craniados.

tldr; sparx wins!
