Zimavich wasn’t aware, at least until recently, that there was a hot springs somewhere in one of the kingdoms. Ironically—or perhaps fantastically—it was located in Ignis, which shared the distinction with Lavaridge out in the real world for being two places that had hot springs and were known for their fire-type orientation.

Okay so.

How were they going to unwind in the hot springs? Was it going to be so crowded they wouldn’t get enough alone time? Or was it… was it the perfect place to actually go on a date…

A date.

A date!

He was still surprised that they were now a thing, an item, actually past the ‘getting to know you’ stage and were now ‘getting to know each other better’ kind of thing…

And he was still extremely flustered about it!

He wondered if Florian had gotten the message to meet him here as he continued to shed the outfit he had picked, making sure to pack the light armor and wrap it carefully within the rest of his clothes so it didn’t get wet or something.

Wow.

He really made himself smaller than his real-life counterpart, eh?

Florian does indeed receive the message, sitting at home in his small Verdanturf abode and letting out an embarrassing noise that draws the attention of the Sylveon dozing at the end of his bed.[break][break]

Logging into the game, he quickly adjusts to the jarring sensation of his shrunken height and wakes in his player residence in the Fontaine kingdom. There had been a promise of a fairy-type kingdom coming at some point, but until then, the water-and-grass themed kingdom was best suited to his aesthetic and personality.[break][break]

The fiery mountains of Ignis were less pleasing to the eye, but Florian's full of bottled-up excitement as his character skips his way to the hot springs where Alexei had requested they meet. He's not dense — a meeting in the hot springs carried with it certain implications. However, did Alexei intend for those implications to come across?[break][break]

Leafae's normally armoured robes have been traded for cosmetic options. His character looks rather feminine with the flowing robes and long hair, but he doesn't mind.[break][break]

"Allo, darling," he greets Alexei, and Leafae twirls and blows a kiss. The healer sheds his armor like a snake shedding skin, setting it to the side and dipping dainty toes into the water. It's almost like he can feel its comforting warmth, the steam rising from the baths. "Is this a date?"[break][break]

Leafae's grin is cheeky, and Florian's tone is teasing to match.

He was sitting at the edge of the hot springs, a smaller towel hastily draped across his legs while he was waiting for the other to show up.

Now, look, if they did this in Lavaridge, they ran the risk of being overheard by gossipy old farts who frequented the hot springs as well… well, at least here they could stay for much longer without having to worry about their skin getting all pruny now, right?

He let out a sudden yelp as he heard Florian—no, Leafae’s—voice cut through his thoughts. The towel slid off as he accidentally landed in the water with a loud splash, and boy he could feel his ears going off like alarm bells!

Remaining underwater for a few moments, he then surfaced, almost getting a faceful of now-wet towel. Wading over to the side, he then wrung out the wet towel before slapping it against the rock in an attempt to distract himself.

“Y-y-y-y-y-yes,” he stammered, his ears (and face) going all red.

Oh, Arceus, why now?!

He then sunk deeper into the water, only letting the upper half of his face show. Holy hell balls, even in virtual reality Florian—Leafae—knew how to be such a tease!

Florian's laughter rings soft like a bell over the mic, slightly muffled as if he's covering his mouth.[break][break]

"Very smooth, darling."[break][break]

Alexei is clearly flustered, poor Zimavich blushing crimson as he struggles with the towel he'd dropped into the water. The healer is graceful in comparison, folding his towel neatly and setting it aside as he slips into the steaming bath. Long hair fans across his bare shoulders, the tips growing darker-still as they dip into the water.[break][break]

He is less shy than he might have been if this were Lavaridge, and if it were his real skin glistening with the steam.[break][break]

"You are very cute," he teases, Leafae reaching over to tap his lover playfully on the nose. "I hope I did not keep you waiting too long; I was taking a break for dinner when you messaged, and I had to turn off the stove."[break][break]

There's a distant chirp in the background of Florian's mic, and then his laughter. "Joli says hello. I woke him up."

The simple tapping gesture on his nose made him blush even deeper, and Arceus if Florian could see Alexei now the other man was blushing to all fucking hell in the real world as well!

“No, not really—some of the other staffers are running around in-game as well, there’s nobody scheduled for a gym battle today,” he managed to say once he had recovered from the rampant bout of blushing to all hell. “Tell him I said hi, too,” he added a few moments later, hearing the Sylveon’s chirping from the other.

Thankfully, mercifully, there was nobody else coming by—he took a guess most of everyone who could afford the game were in here right now, playing away.

Chuckling softly, he pulled himself up next to the other, slowly playing with Leafae’s hair that was undulating in the water from the hot spring.

He tried to say something else but the blush on his face made him self-conscious, instead choosing to stay quiet instead in a quiet moment of serenity. Not until he had gathered his bravado did he manage to unstick his voice once more.

“I… are… are we, like… like uh…” he tried to stammer out, looking away, his face a very red shade now. His face and ears were as red as the insides of a watermelon, dang it! Why was he freezing up in close proximity—and take note this was just virtual reality, and not in the real world!

"This game is really bringing many people together, isn't it?" A warmth floods Florian's tone; he's a real sap, and the thought of most of Hoenn dropping their individual hobbies and quirks to unite in a video game is touching to him. "I imagine your would-be challengers are playing too, ha!"[break][break]

He knows of at least a few people in the challenge circuit that play this game.[break][break]

Zimavich is far more coy than Leafae, and Florian quietly fawns over his boyfriend's shyness. The other plays with his avatar's hair, and he can't help but to wonder how nice it would be if this were real life, if they were—[break][break]

"Hm?"[break][break]

He's drawn out of his thoughts by Alexei's stumbling half-question, resulting in a confused look on Florian's face in reality. There's no perfect emote for the occasion, so he simply chooses one that causes his avatar to tilt his head and grip his chin in a questioning manner.[break][break]

"What is it, darling?" As he didn't have any question in his mind about the status of their relationship, he doesn't catch on to what the other is trying to ask. He smiles, and Leafae brushes a hand against Zimavich's cheek. "You are very flustered! Take your time."
