Well, here he was again. Trying to prove himself useful by taking up any old job. Oscar was a glorified errand boy at this point, though to be fair he brought it upon himself. Tonight he is acting as an exterminator; it would seem that a warehouse in Team Rocket's territory has been overrun with ghosts and Oscar was there to bust them. Except here's the thing, this was like the eighth time this warehouse had a ghost infestation. At what point do they decide just to burn it down? It's not like anyone used it anyway.

Oscar nursed a cotton candy flavored lollipop as he stared up at the rotting structure. It was rightfully terrifying, no wonder ghosts kept showing up. Poor things probably just wanted a spooky home, if they just minded their own business instead of messing with people they wouldn't have to drive them out every few months.

Oscar discarded the remains of his sucker and sighed heavily. He was supposed to be meeting someone here that would help him handle the ghost pokemon. Yet here he was twenty minutes past the meeting time and there was no one to be seen. What could be taking them so long? Oscar's train of thought was broken by a loud noise coming from the warehouse. It was like a mixture of metal grinding together and some sort of creature moaning in pain. A shiver ran up Oscar's spine. It was official now, he wasn't going in alone. If his partner wasn't going to show he was getting the hell out of here. Better than waiting to get eaten by whatever that was.

Late was something of an understatement when it came to this little air head, not that she had meant to be late for this mission. Getting back into the swing of accepting missions to keep her rank within the rocket’s had become some sort of ritual that she couldn’t free herself from. Though her choices had led her down this long dark path and frankly there was no turning back now, this was clearly not the time to be reminiscing about the past however because she was late! Natsuki would have loved a grand excuse for her late arrive but sadly it was mostly due to her horrible navigation skills, yep that was right her only excuse for being late was finding herself so horrible completely lost. So much so in fact that she had to release Sayoran for a little help in finding her way, the male umbreon had blocked her path from the house. His way of insisting on coming with her since he knew how horrid his trainers ability to get from a to b was, not that she could argue with his logic. Natsuki had managed to find herself very off path and with a long walk it seemed Sayoran had finally picked up the location of at least what she hoped was someone else.

Stumbling and almost tripping as her body suddenly appeared from the shrubbery behind him, panting heavily with her umbreon behind her. Natsuki had packed up Jiro, Mimiko and Lapis for the ghost hunt with the addition of Nyx who .. at the moment was only on a worse case scenario. Her belt lined with with balls and one already released pokemon, Natsuki finally managed to catch her breath and wave “I’m here!” she called out rather obviously.

Time went on. It might have just been his imagination, but Oscar swore it was getting darker by the second. His heartbeat steadily began to increase as his anxiety grew. Soon every little noise put him on edge, his eyes darting around the warehouse courtyard for any sign of malicious spirits. He swore he began to hear cruel laughter coming from the warehouse itself. He shakily pulled out a pokeball, preparing for his very soul to be threatened at any moment. He began to sweat, his legs shook, his breathes became shallow. Soon he was completely expecting a full on assault from the warehouse ghosts. And just when his panic was at its very peak--

A BEAST FROM THE BUSHES!

Oscar yelped and raised his pokeball, not to open it but to prepare to throw it at his attacker as a projectile! It took a moment for him to realize, but he was not about to be ripped to shreds by specters. The monster was, in fact, a human girl. And by her exclamation, it would seem that this was his partner for the mission. Oscar's terror turned to annoyance, more so from being caught in such a compromising position. He wanted to scold her for being late as well as scaring him, but he bit his tongue and swallowed his rage. It was quite a sight, his skin turned at least forty colors as he calmed himself.

Once he was composed, he spoke plainly. "You took your sweet time. Whatever, name's Oscar yada yada let's go." Oscar was eager to get this over with. He was already scared shitless, and he hadn't even gone into the warehouse yet.

It was no doubt that she was looking like a hot mess but well not something so terribly horrifying he had to react like that ….right? Quickly straightening herself up the best she could and pulling the branches from her hair, sheepishly giving a laugh at his question. Thought it seemed like he was rather fed up with waiting for her since well she had taken a while to show up. “sorry about that, kinda got a little lost.” she muttered “Natsuki by the way!” she chirped however closing the distance between the two of them. In front of Oscar stood the warehouse which the two of them had been tasked with checking out, apparently it was full of ghost pokemon. Natsuki wanted to squeal in excitement but she was sure her partner was already pretty fed up with her and she had just gotten here! Sayoran was following close beside her, his ears perking up to hear something no doubt to low for the others to hear/ “ heard anything spooky yet?” she questioned him suddenly, not that she was expecting Oscar to answer her seriously after all. Giving a few more glances to the warehouse, Natsuki produced a flashlight from a harness on her leg from under her skirt.

“well since I was the one who got here late I’ll take the lead if you don’t mind” Natsuki smiled brightly at him, hoping her offer of going first would at least clear up some of his annoyance towards her. He seemed like the type who liked to be prompt and get things done in a timely manner (thought she had no idea it was only because he was to scared to be alone). “Lets go sayoran” she called towards her umbreon, she was far to excited about this whole ordeal and was spending way to much energy trying to act normal.

This girl was insanely giddy, given the current circumstances. Oscar couldn't decide if that was annoying or a relief. On one hand a more cheerful outlook might help keep him at ease during the actual clearing. On the other hand--ugh, excitement. And for ghost pokemon of all things? Oscar figured the sane thing to do would be to keep horrors away from every day life. Though who was he to judge, he hung out with bug pokemon all day.

Oscar furrowed his eyebrows when she asked about spooky sounds. "I mean, the ghost pokemon inside are restless. I think they're trying to keep people like us out, trying to scare us away. Won't work of course." Oscar tried to play off his fear, but he couldn't tell if he was successful or not. Quite suddenly, she took the lead and made her merry way into the warehouse. Oscar made a halfhearted attempt to protest with gestures, but in reality he was rather glad he didn't have to go in first.

After she went in, Oscar caught up pretty quickly. He did his best not to look into the windows, less he catch a glimpse of something that would unnerve him. As he entered the warehouse, what he saw made him understand why this was a beloved home for ghosts. The place was wrecked: boxes and machinery were smashed across the floor, the walls looked cracked and worn, fucking chains hung from the ceiling, if he were a ghost he'd want to live here too. Oscar couldn't help but wonder, what was this place for before it was abandoned? All the machinery was too damaged to make out what they were used for. Whatever, not part of the job. Oscar opened a pokeball, and out of it came Tir Na Nog, his Accelgor. Oscar gave simple instructions, "Draw them out."

In the blink of an eye, Tir disappeared to fulfill his master's will. Oscar turned to say something to his partner, only to find that she had run off. He swung his head around frantically, where the hell did she go?

It was a rather exciting time for Natsuki, not that she particularity liked to hang out with bored or agitated ghosts. The thrill of maybe finding another spooky partner was just to over powering for her to worry about any of the mean spirited or hateful ghost types that might be lurking around. Oscar on the other hand seemed to have more sense about him and had become rather cautious when finding and entering the place. With the way he had spoken about the Pokemon attempting to keep people out sounded like he had caught a bit of the frights but she supposed normal people were suppose to be afraid of things like these. “of course it won’t work” she chimed from in front of him “they just don’t know who there messing with today!” she exclaimed rather excited from the front of the pack. Sayoran let out a little sigh at his masters enthusiasm, he was not to thrilled with having her lurk around such a dangerous place and he didn’t mean the ghost Pokemon. Unbenounced to the two of them it seemed the Pokemon of the place had plans for the two of them, the first goal was to split them up.

This part had gone rather well as Oscar was doing his best to be careful of scaring himself and Natsuki was far to busy being excited and trying her best not to trip and die and accidentally join her ghost Pokemon friends. At some point reality had shifted or an illusion of it had changed causing both parties to head off into separate directions, it seemed Natsuki had failed to notice and poor Sayoran was doing his best to keep her from tripping in the darkness the flashlight failed to cover. Glances left and right seemed to give no lead way to her discovering anything, looking down at Sayoran she smiled “ should I call out your brother and sisters?” she questioned.

Oscar searched frantically for his companion, but she was nowhere to be seen. Panic began to set in as his anxiety grew to heart stopping levels. This was all too much, he should bolt right now if he knew what was good for him. Oscar clenched his fists. No, fuck that. He wasn't going to leave her here by herself, not when she's apparently gone and gotten herself lost in ghost territory. Oscar began to call out for his partner, "Natsuki! Natsuki can you hear me!? Get your ass back here, I'm not down for an exorcism tonight!"

He felt a change in the air, it somehow got colder. The ghosts were starting to approach at last. Oscar snickered, "Ha, I bet you think you have me trapped. Well guess what mother fuckers, you're the ones trapped here with me!" Oscar threw out a ball, and from it emerged Puffnstuff the Hydreigon. The hydreigon roared, which Oscar hoped would scare some of them away. If any did run, he didn't see them.

The ghosts began to take physical form, a grinning band of gastys, haunters, shuppets, duskulls, and misdreavuses. Puffnstuff dared them to approach further, but the group just chuckled. They seemed to think lowly of the little mortal and his dragon. Too bad their overconfidence blinded them to Tir. The bug ninja appeared seemingly out of thin air and let loose a volley of Water Shurikens. The water blades slashed several ghosts from behind, taking them by surprise. Puffnstuff took the distraction as a chance to charge forward himself, using his three heads to Crunch through multiple ghosts types. Oscar smiled, they weren't so scary once you started beating the shit out of them.

Not that Natsuki had noticed at the time but her partner had become rather quite, glancing back behind herself and Sayoran only to find Oscar was gone. Her brow raised as the sight of his missing form, she had a small inkling that he was just a bit of a scaredy cat so she couldn’t very well see him leaving the group so ...willingly. The game had begun and her bubbled headed butt had completely gone and not noticed the subtle changes that were happening. How was she going to become a master of dark and ghost pokemon if she couldn’t even notice when a haunt was starting to get serious! Since the two of them had been unable to notice the change and since neither could detect Oscars presence it seemed the ghosts were going to go all out for this mission. Not that Natsuki was apposed to a little battle before collecting her prize, glancing at Sayoran she sighed “will save her for super last if things get close” she told him rather cryptically before unleashing two pokeballs from her belt. Jiro her Sableye and Mimiko her Frosslass appeared before the two of them. “ alright lady and gentlemen our goal is to find Oscar and to catch you a new brother or sister !” she exclaimed the last part, far to excited about the idea of a new teammate then actually getting out of this situation or well even Oscars well being.

As theast of the ghosts fled, Oscar felt a sense of great accomplishment. He had conquered his fear and successfully thwarted the haunting menace. Or he thought he did, he still couldn't see Natsuki anywhere. Where had she gone? Did the ghosts take her to the "other side"? Would he ever see her again?

Tir and Puff stayed near Oscar, vigilantly awaiting orders. Oscar had none to give though, no other ghostly threats were present. Yet he couldn't leave without his partner, so he resolved to stay to find her. The ghosts were gone, but the air was still cold. Were there more hiding?
