Petra's body heals despite the arduous work filling their days, fueled by mochi and glimpses of a shared dream. Their strength of will, perverted by these wardens and their toxic chains, was still there.

After nothing but dreaming, working and eating mochi for so long... Such a small taste of WILLPOWER was enough to ignite the tinderbox-for-a-prison. The efforts of the incaercerated collective didn't take long to manifest. Despite contrasting ideals or loyalties, the prisoners rally at the call to defy those who presumed to be masters of anything.

Even their chains could no longer be trusted, escalating the conflict in an unforseen trajectory - giving their prisoner's the advantage. Many are eager to raise a defiant hand, though Petra is reluctant, choosing to operate under the light of self-protection.

Secluded behind the stage aside from the seldom passerby, Petra listens as Teravolt's live performance comes to a close. Soon finding herself guided to a room backstage by one of Callan's personnel, she eyes her phone nervously, pretending to look busy while awaiting his arrival. All from the comfort of a rather plush armchair that Petra doubted she could afford.

The few others in the room keep to themselves, as Petra is a new face on the scene. That, or perhaps they recognize the Monroe and hold reservations against her. Seeing as Teravolt encroached the punk genre, she couldn't help but assume they might.

as they delved further into the icelands, an eerie sound of some pokemon could be heard rolling over the hills. impossible to tell where it was coming from, every mound of snow she rounded about caused the sound grow louder - bringing her closer to whatever it was.

she already didn't like this place, and for good reason. the anticipation bred anxiety, and that anxiety allowed deep-rooted fears to take hold. petra's heart beats faster, afraid of the wailing and the thing making it that she pursued. eventually, despite the decline in pace, she is brought face-to-face with the pokemon calling out into the wilderness...

"eeep!" jumping as the little guy comes into view, it turns to Petra with an equally scared look upon it's face. "...Seriously?!" The absol at her side snickers while petra brings a hand to her chest, admittedly relieved that it wasn't the worst case scenario she was worried over. "i guess you're separated from your friends, and started calling out for them?" the vanillite nods, floating closer to petra now that she seems to pose no threat.

"we're a little busy, but you can stick with us for a little if you'd feel safer?" nodding again, the vanillite joins as petra's absol begins leading their march further into the icelands.

with her eyes still more or less attached to her phone due to only just now breaching the safari wilds, petra yelps as she trips over her absol. stopped in it's tracks and trying to alert her to the fletchling directly ahead, the bird tilts it's head curiously at the clumsy trainer.

"augh...! sorry." she murmurs under a grunt, getting back up to see the fletchling flapping it's wings to take to the air. her absol, making a face, seems to be troubled by the fact it was getting away "eh, it's no big deal." it wasn't one of the species petra was looking for anyway. "there's plenty more pokemon to see here. let's keep moving."

hoping to instill a greater sense of confidence in her skills as a trainer, petra steps into hoenn's safari zone for the very first time. the absol at her side ensures a sense of safety as they delve further into the wildlife reserve, searching for the first species on the list she pulls up on her phone.

"keep an eye out for anything yellow. or red, for that matter." while it didn't narrow down the search perfectly, she assumed the pokemon would have an easier time spotting any of the pichu or litten that may be using the tall grass for cover.

"also... let's take it easy with the battling. warden's not exactly keen of property damage - or pokemon cruelty, for that matter." with a nod of affirmation, petra patted the pokemon by it's crest before officially crossing the line into the safari wilderness.

bleak is the first word that comes to mind as petra gazes out towards the icy tundra. while many could describe winter to be beautiful in it's own right, the hoenn native viewed it as unnatural - a grotesque gash upon the region she called home, courtesy of that cursed kyurem. it's why she refrained from visiting, despite any scientific prospects thorough investigation might reveal.

for today, it's the wildlife she now comes to check on. not just as a ranger, but as a legitimate trainer. coming close to knocking on death's rattling door, newfound zeal replaces that meek complacency of her past self. the silent icelands will be a test of sorts, for petra as well as her new team.

as she and her absol crest over the hilltop, petra stops to take a deep breath. her legs tire quickly compared to the girl's youth. "it's a good thing i brought you and the others with me." the pokemon nods, quick to follow as petra sighs heavily - forcing herself to continue this dreadful march.

Bruised and broken, Petra is eager to return to their cells. The mochi she reluctantly consumed was now a welcomed luxury, though she struggles changing into her fresh clothes. She doesn't even bother fighting over the cot, stress and injury snuffing any energy to do so. She just leans against the wall, ready to pass out at any moment.

As slumber overtakes the senses, Petra's thoughts revolve around the last few things she saw. The orange face of that savage thing, and the throbbing tubes that alluded to something more beneath them. It was all very fascinating, and though she would've enjoyed better circumstances... The wonders help to distract her adled mind.

Eyes that shut on one side open on another, and the spectacle of a thriving Megalopolan city causes a bit of excitement. When she moves, there is no grief from injury. I'm dreaming? Venturing to explore this place, it's apparent there are others.

But Petra doesn't manage to find anyone she knows, and opts instead to explore on her own. Eventually a daycare display comes into view, and it seems like her pokemon are in it!

"Hey! Wake up!" A fist beats against the window in protest, though it serves no good. At least for now, which causes her to wonder - How real was any of this? Before she can confirm if their pokemon mean anything, she has to make sure that the others in this place aren't just a fabrication of a mind desperate to escape it's cage...
