his tone says it all, and it grates her ears. it's such a nice voice he has, and it's a shame it belongs to someone who's so keen on making a fool out of her. the rolls along the floor doesn't do her any favors and, though she can hear it, she can't exactly trust the spatial awareness. [break][break]

"i never said ya could, asshole!" she barks with a smile. her ears perk again, immediately whipping her head towards the soft tap of furniture at another stop. then she does it again, unable to pick up the absence of another tap amidst his voice. [break][break]

aria takes pride in her sense of hearing, especially when her sense of sight is lacking. the chair rolls to a slow and eventual stop, but now something just doesn't sound right as she quickly approaches. when it stops against a piece of furniture with a sharper thud, the initial confidence deflates into more frustration. "you little shit--" she starts, now furrowing her brows. he has to be around here, somewhere, and the sound of footsteps - no matter how faint - helps her pinpoint where the bastard is. "stop being a coward and come. here~."

she thinks, and she's half tempted to say it aloud. the woman smiles atop of the steel pokemon who ferries her back properly to the shore, and now over to the surfboard that leans against the open chair. thankfully, the psychic powers let her find the outline of the board, otherwise she'd probably be trying to feel for it to no avail. [break][break]

what's left is for a man to wash up to shore, or for her to be carried back over to where a man decided to float to bring the board to him. unfortunately for him, the former happened, and she's guided by the metal pokemon to a man, laying limp in the sand. she casts a shadow over him while he's laying, hands gently planting the board into the sand. [break][break]

then she crouches, a smile on her lips with elbows resting against her knees. she even has the audacity to chuckle. [break][break]

"i brought your surfboaaaard~" she chimes, lightly knocking on the lower half of it. "stop making such a fuss, god~" [break][break]

it's not her fault. [break][break]

she's fearless of the consequences, and fearless of the outcome - after all, this is all a simulation. perhaps if she had an inkling that this was all real, she'd have a better time grounding herself into a sense of logic. but, alas, it's the comfort in knowing that her actions are free from recoil. [break][break]

it's liberating, in a way. [break][break]

"don't you worry ya pretty lil head over it~" her ears perk, and she can hear the smirk and scoff in a man's voice. rather than being offended, she only smirks in return, pulling out another pokeball to send out a sorely familiar salazzle. "it's not like i was gonna be burning it."[break][break]

and it's true when her salazzle opens her maw, releasing a trail of FLAMETHROWER at the roots, the flora, and the branches at the tree of life to burn. the light still never reaches her eyes, but the warmth of a crackling fire kisses her skin. she smiles, and hums, amazed. the simulation was really something.[break][break]

that's a name she remembers - not fondly, mind. aria has half the mind to ignore the name, and half the mind to pretend that she thought about it and play familiarity. hopefully, he'll forgive her for her lack of interest in a town of the past, and a town that abandoned her when she was most vulnerable. hopefully, he'll forgive her for her desire to stay away from what ghosts of the past decide to haunt her now. [break][break]

his laughter and smile are haphazardly returned with each word, though he's certainly narrowing down the pool of people. she's glad, at least, that it sounds like someone who's young - the older folk who recognize her likely wouldn't be meeting this same patience. now, what catches more of her attention is the "coke bottle glasses" comment. [break][break]

her ears perk, and her smile seems to shrink a tiny bit. [break][break]

she's about to say something - finally - until the man suddenly blurts out his name. lam, he says so suddenly, with a tinge of desperation. the same lam who came to visit her with his father in the past, and the same lam who she'd spend so many summer sunsets with, violin in hand and bare foot in sand. ".. oh! you're lam~" she chimes now, reinvigorated with a brighter smile to cushion for what she's about to admit next. surely, it'll come to a surprise to him? but at least, it'd answer some questions. but the tone of his voice is more than enough to bring a smile to her lips. she can see the fuzzy image of a man flicking his finger, and she can only imagine the facial expression he's wearing. she snickers instead, idling on the head of the metagross that casually hovers across the sand. she half-jests, and still hums all the same as they approach the water. the man was limp, but that doesn't stop the metagross from lifting him up into the air, a bit above the water (so he doesn't get hurt; ariadne is a bitch and not a monster) before he's unceremoniously dropped.

at least, not until she feels herself struck by the UNOWN's HIDDEN POWER. it ejects them from the current scenario and simulation, and nearly knocks the wind out of her as the vertigo has her catch and rebalance herself with her knees. the pain only lasted for a brief moment, but her brows knit and tongue clicks all the same. [break][break]

her aggron has returned to its pokeball, though she'll assume that that was also part of the simulation? terrifying that it could be so accurate if so, what a coward if it wasn't. [break][break]

her ears perk, initially to try and get a feel for the environment. it's a lot less.. noisy than the last, but the silence is near deafening, until she hears an indescribable voice that speaks to her. she doesn't hear the pokemon that kneel, and only the two voices of flora and her partner. his comment brings a smile to her lips, along with a chuckle. so she tilts her head and crosses her arms. they could water it like it wants them to, but maybe she's not so kind as to water a tree that just asks her. [break][break]

honestly? she had no reason to bring this man with her into this simulation. [break][break]

asides from the fact that he had a nice voice. [break][break]

she finds out too quickly that she's pulled in a dumbass to be her partner, but it should be alright, right? it's not like she'll die in here - and she'd know, because she's gone through this once already. [break][break]

the difference is that they're stuck in.. some place different. there's no people, there's no sound of people, but there's some disgusting sound that comes from the darkness in front of them; not that ariadne could see it anyways. [break][break]
