coming back home

I know that my first stop back should be home... but I just can't. Dad says she's not getting any better and no matter how much I try, I just can't bring myself to see her like she is.[break][break]

Worst it's ever been. She doesn't even remember who I am, she thinks I'm Aunt Harlow.[break][break]

I could go and see Ferny... but I don't really wanna look at his face right now. I'm still trying to figure things out with him. It's all so confusing and annoying. Like, here, I can't even put it to words, what's wrong with me. I know I still love him, but I also know I'm not supposed to. And maybe that's the problem.[break][break]

I can't give up again. I can't accept I love him and just linger around like a lost puppy. He deserves better than me anyway.[break][break]

Maybe I'll go see Barney![break][break]

That sounds like a good time. I can get some snacks and things together too!!! Oh yes, okay, I'll go see Barney. And maybe I can ask him what to do about the Ferny thing... er maybe not. Maybe just pretend the Ferny thing uh, doesn't exist.[break][break]

Lucky for her, she'd been in the area.[break][break]

Often times when she was in areas and had free time, she'd leave her ranger alerts on. Any sort of catastrophe in the area would be alerted to local rangers and Francie set herself to receive them even outside her regular station of Lavaridge if she was out and about.[break][break]

She just so happened to be passing through littleroot town when an alarm for a local fire caught her attention.[break][break]

Like a true heroine, throwing caution to the wind and ignoring her own safety, she throws herself into the dangerous situation almost as if her life depends on it. Perhaps it does. Maybe she needs the adrenaline to help keep her alive. At this point, it feels like the only time she's alive is if she's filled with adrenaline.[break][break]

Riding on Nicky's back, her giant Onix, she slides down and hopes across the boulders that make up the giant rock snake before finally landing. She's already taking out her carracosta, tossing Captain out and pointing.[break][break]

"Nicky, let's dig underground and see if we can create a hole into the house, an escape route for survivors." He heeds her words and follows her command, rock and ground grind against each other as he uses dig.[break][break]

"Captain let's try and get that fire under control."[break][break]

Firing off a hydro canon, Francie allows her eyes to leave the immediate movements of her pokémon to look around at those near. "Does anybody else need assistance??"

The loss of her lycanroc is still a fresh wound. She's reminded of it most in times like this. The times in-between seeing people and distracting missions.[break][break]

Originally she'd stopped home to go and meet up with her father, talk to him to see how her mother was doing. She'd been moved over to Mauville because the medical care was better there for her. Well, the institute she needed to be in was better there, anyway.[break][break]

That only reminded her of her own moments of hallucination within the ultra deep sea. And shortly after, her loss. Loss is what made it all so real and yet so confusion.[break][break]

A few ledian move past her, the dust fluttering around. The entire forest is lit by them, causing a small smile to form across Francie's face. It's a distraction. Her mind is pulled from it's dwelling, considering the past, and instead propelled into the present.[break][break]

The present where she must continue to breathe and survive. A present where she can help to make that sacrifice of her lycanroc not have been in vain.[break][break]

Still, she doesn't speak. She's waiting for another to come. They're to collect as much of the dust as possible for the sake of some research that the rangers are looking into for the league. She doesn't ask questions. She's only happy she can get a mission this down to earth during her ... recovery phase.

There's a steady smile across Francie's face. With each shout, it doesn't waver. Instead, there's a light boiling back up in the young woman's eyes. She's happy to see this man so free and comfortable with his pokémon.[break][break]

"Yeah... that's Fiona for ya. She's not a fan of hot things. Namely water. But we work here on Mt. Chimney so I'm trying to get her skin and leaves used to the climate."[break][break]

Though, it's really not working and it seems like Fiona and the tyranitar are happily ignoring their trainers... but that gives Francie an idea.[break][break]

To share it, she leans closer to Doug with a hand over her mouth to whisper into his ear her devious plan.[break][break]

"What if we sneak attack them? I mean, maybe we can spook the tyranitar into getting into the water or something."[break][break]

Being who she is, Francie's used to trying to get big giant pokémon to move even when they don't want to.

blow after blow she blocks. it takes effort and she's verbal about every assault. when one goes for her midsection there's a, "whoa!" and when it goes for her side she's hissing out, "oh boy!" but then there's a throat shot and francie's barking in protest with, "howareyousofast?!"[break][break]

there's so much woman and yet francie has to work the hardest she's ever worked in her life — save that one time — in order to keep herself from getting hit. when she does, she just grunts before trying with extra effort to block the next one.[break][break]

because freya's not holding back. francie appreciates that, though. gives her incentive to actually put in the work to block.[break][break]

eventually she gets a streak going. she treats it like a game. when the streak breaks, it causes her to yelp in surprise and even hit back, accidentally — through reflex mind — smacking freya in the face with the shield. or attempting to, anyway.

A hand is on her brow, acting as something to block the sun. She's usually on Mt. Chimney, this is her day to day work. For now, she's been given a report by Elise Calcifet that there were sightings by those around the mountain of koffing clusters. At least, that's what she called them.[break][break]

The reason for alarm was if an influx of koffing took a hiker by surprise, it could be deadly! So naturally, she was on foot with a holster full of partially ground-type pokémon on her hip.[break][break]

Both hands on her hips, she waits for the one who gave her the tip to show up. She's just surveying, trying to check for the easiest route, wondering all the while if Elise Calcifet would mind if they just ride on her aerodactyl's back to the spot...[break][break]

And also pretending that she's not curious as to the relation between Elise Calcifet and Remiel Calcifet.

His personality was one that Francie appreciated. The type of person that opened up and was themselves immediately—or so Francie thought. Still a little naive in how she judged a book by their cover.[break][break]

After all, this man could have some deep dark past... to her, it didn't matter. However people presented themselves is how she took them. Face value. When they proved to be more, or when reality started to change around them, it often shook her foundation.[break][break]

Not that she was thinking about that for now! At the moment, she was thinking instead on the discoveries they could make. That excitement alone caused her heart to thump in her chest. Adrenaline of the unknown tingling through her limbs.[break][break]

when mentioned that she knows a thing or two about fighting angry men, francie gets oddly excited. there's a clear glint in her eyes and she looks a little starstruck.[break][break]

because clearly this woman before her is nothing short of a hero to her. a role model, somebody she'd be willing to absolutely die for. just by looking at her! gorgeous, in charge, knows what she wants! at least, that's what francie sees.[break][break]

schoolgirl crush anyone? not that francie even realizes it, cause she's thick.[break][break]

"okay sure!" she pulls the shield up and holds it close, brows furrowed as she braces herself. "make sure you don't land a hit, got it... um, how long am i supposed to do that? just like, until i can't anymore?"[break][break]

she's asking if there's a time limit or if somehow she's supposed to shout auntie at her whens he's had enough.
