Hearing the step of a stranger’s footsteps approach, Lux turns to the source. He does stick out like a sore thumb with a Pokemon this cheerfully yellow, he supposes. [break][break]
“Oh- He’s not my Ampharos.” He states with a shy smile. “I’m a ranger. I’ve been tasked with taking care of him for the day. Albeit, he’s had happier days.”[break][break]
Ampharos squeezes onto his hand. The gesture melts his head. “His health check-up came up normal, but he seems to be suffering from depression. I’m not wondering if the lighthouse workers were dishonest with me about not giving him enough outdoor time..”[break][break]
He catches himself.[break][break]
“Oh, I'm sorry.. You probably didn’t need to know all that. Point is, I’m not sure how to help this little fella. But until I do, the lighthouse is temporailly out of commission.”[break][break]

There’s something mysteriously beautiful about the ocean. Though Lux was more of a fan of space and the cosmos above, he couldn’t deny how alluring these dark blue trenches were. Whenever Lux hears about a troubled Pokemon he just can’t sit still. He expands himself as a ranger in more ways than one. Ampharos was extremely depressed it seemed, lonesome even. Though for reasons Lux isn’t quite sure of. So, deeming it was well enough for a walk, takes the little yellow guy out for some well-needed fresh air.[break][break]
It seemed to help a little but.. not quite. Lux sighs.[break][break]
“I hope that the lighthouse keepers aren’t keeping you in there all day. That’s hardly healthy..” Pokemon need sunshine and fresh air, too. Ampharos holds onto the nice ranger’s hand as they walk. It’s a cute sight. One that's sure to attract attention from any bystanders.[break][break]

Returning to the mountain sides after his last incident made his stomach turn. But, the circumstances are different. The air is calm. There’s no impending danger and nothing to be lost. He’ll make sure of that.[break][break]
“Oh? I heard the stars are beautiful up here on clear nights. I’ll have to try that sometime.”[break][break]
Her declaration to be stronger makes him chuckle. Not because he doesn’t take her seriously, but it’s that determination alone, so heartfelt and pure that makes him smile. [break][break]
In contrast to her pink hiking attire, he wears some purples and muted blues. Lux doesn’t wear many shorts, but it’s clear from his arms and legs alone that he’s buffed up in the last couple of months since he’s seen her.[break][break]
He barely dodges the ponytail, unable to hold back his smile. “I don’t know, Luka. Are you sure you can hold any muscle?”[break][break]

Before Lux could agree themselves, Sirius is mewling for joy at the thought of joy. The little porker could never refuse a free meal, regardless if it had cheese or not. [break][break]
Feeling a Slowpoke nudge against his leg Lux can’t help chuckle. This place was filled to the brim with friendly Pokemon. He taps a Pokeball against the Slowpoke and watches it go inside the ball without much of a struggle (they’re called Slowpoke for a reason.)[break][break]
“You aren’t interrupting anything, Luka. We’d love nothing more than to catch up with you.” They smile, soft and gentle. “I also want to hear about everything you’ve been doing, too.”[break]

By this point (after being in the force for a while) Lux is used to dipping out of Fortree to the bigger, more livelier cities. Though by no means a local celebrity, Lux has been stationed to many different missions in other places and was climbing up the ranks rather quickly, something he hadn’t anticipated. [break][break]
People think he’s incredibly talented for his insight and memory but in truth, he’s nobody remarkable. [break][break]
Out of nowhere a Meowstic charges into the breakroom, but everyone seems to laugh quietly to themselves instead of making a fuss over it. [break][break]
Little paws violently smack against the vending machine with the snacks, conveniently next to the drinks. It might’ve gotten annoying if it had continued, though it quickly stops as a ranger scoops up the troublesome Pokemon.[break][break]
“Must you embarrass me at every turn, Sirius?” [break][break]
Lux scowls as Meowstic harrumphs, deflating in his trainer’s arms while continuing to glare at the snacks. He sighs, before turning his attention to the ranger next to him. He just keeps… staring intently at the machine. Not moving.[break][break]

Similar to the thick tension impregnating the air, so was the power imbalance between the league and Hoenn’s people. They all have a right to be critical. Freedom of speech is one right he would never question, though Lux can hardly agree with Team Rocket being the source of power behind these angered voices. Greed only fuels more hatred and spite, something that Lux is dead set against.[break][break]
Lux didn’t imagine in his wildest dreams that someone of Alexander’s status would seek him out, despite making himself useful during the shadow Pokemon attack, remembering every last detail of that grusome day. Though he supposes his skill is something interpol would do anything to have their hands on. He briefly scans through the crowd. [break][break]
“Yes. Three people.” he responds, the sound of his voice considerably masked by the rallying of citizens protesting. Amazingly, however, he remains inconspicuous. [break][break]
“In the fourth row, toward the back. They don’t look familiar to me.” He pauses before speaking up again. “What do you want to do?”[break]
