Grunting softly as he lobs out his Skrelp to retrieve his newly caught Seel, Klaus watches the Milotic appreciatively as the creature cuts through the water and takes out the Barbaracle for her trainer to capture it. "Beautiful," he murmurs appreciatively, before a groan sounds from the man when the LIFE DEW is summoned.

"You're a hero," Klaus announces as the stream of blood is stemmed and the swelling goes down nominally. Tilting his head curiously, he then asks, "Do you sail out here often?" His thumb jerking back towards the west he supplies with a grin, "Klaus. I'm one of the lighthouse keepers in Lilycove. There's a good chance if you've ever called it was me." Klaus then gives a little snort of mirth when he finally notices the boat's christened name - given how many ships he had talked to over his career, and the amount of puns he came across daily, it was difficult to remember them all.

A soft warble from his Skrelp sends the man's magenta-rose gaze askance to catch a Corsola surfacing near one of the shallower sections of the ocean bed. Now that he had always wanted. "Sludge bomb," he instructs, his Skrelp gleefully responding to the command with a certain vindictive gleam.

"Acid," comes the next instruction, the Corsola's shrill cry cut off by Klaus's pokeball striking it.

"Ok, fuck you," Klaus hisses at the mess of wires before him as his hands hastily withdraw from the surge of electricity jolting through his fingers from an open wire - made all the worse by the fact that the power to this section was supposedly off according to his lockouts.

"Who the fuck rewired this," the man snarls, his open hand slamming in frustration on a nearby panel to vent his anger. It must have been Arthur, he was always breaking shit as far as Klaus was concerned - and more importantly the last on duty. Having already gone on twelve hours of this mess, Klaus ends up soldering, rewiring, and replacing several parts of the integrated radio equipment for a combined total of 36 hours of work before he's finally able to answer incoming calls from nearby ships.

By the time his wearied frame collapses onto his bed at 6 in the morning to sleep, his eyes ringed nearly black from exhaustion and only just closing, Klaus emits a small noise at what sounds like knocking in the distance. Too tired to care, Klaus pulls his blankets further over his head as if to block out the noise, only to wail a bewildered, "What the fuck," when his world is shaken by a damp Furfrou upon his bed. Who let a dog up here? More importantly, who was speaking to him?

"Annie?" comes the question of absolute disbelief when Klaus finally recognizes the Furfrou attempting to love his face off. Shoving away Remington, Klaus's questions of why the woman is here, and why he has to get up, fall on deaf ears as he is pulled from bed, dressed without his consent, and pushed out of the lighthouse into the hellish morning light.

Klaus sucks desperately at the offered coffee, hoping for a modicum of relief with a fresh infusion of caffeine to force his body awake. He trudges in silence as the morning sun climbs higher, only half-listening at the news he will be attending supper with Annie. Gathering his senses as best he can, Klaus's voice cracks as he demands, "Fucking hell, not tonight. Annie I haven't slept in over a day - I just laid down to sleep."

Klaus nods absently at the mention of the sea, his mouth quirking into a half-smile as he muses, "Yeah, that's true." Followed by, "Tide pools. They are nice."

"It's close enough," Klaus then laughs out about the other's 'travels'. At the mention of Kazimir's home Region, however, he tilts his head faintly to the side and a soft, "Ah," sounds from his throat. "Sure," comes the simple reply. "Just because it wasn't a vacation doesn't mean it doesn't count."

The question about his work, however, elicits an entirely different response. Klaus's face blanks for a bare second, his eyes blinking rapidly as he parses the suggestion that he spends his time flipping a switch. The young man's head throws back as he laughs, delighted at the suggestion before his hands move animatedly and he says with more confidence than he's had the entire meeting, "So it depends on the lighthouse, right? The one in Lilycove is pretty modern by most standards, it's electrically run for the most part."

His mouth opening to continue, Klaus pauses as he notices the time, his eyes widening as he realizes his impending lecture is about to be cut short. "Here," he mutters, a pen pulled from his pocket and the name-card he was given used to scribble his number on. "I'll tell you more later."

"I'm fine," Klaus automatically assures at the stranger, his face a brilliant red - and not just from the flow of blood from his nose. Tapping his Lapras's shell, the pokemon obediently comes abreast with the ship to allow Mars to pass over the gauze to Klaus. "Thanks."

Grumbling softly as he rips off pieces of the gauze to roll and shove into his nose to stem the blood, his head cocks in Mars's direction at the offer of Life Dew and replies with a grateful, "That'd be great."

A soft whistle from his Lapras sends Klaus scanning the nearby area, his magenta-rose gaze landing on a small outcropping of sand and rocks, upon which a Seel digs. Alarmed as he realises the location, Klaus taps his Lapras's shell again as he utters an anxious, "Anwhistle," which results in a swiftly fired Ice Beam at the Seel which sends it slamming into one of the rocky formations.

A pokeball swiftly follows the attack, and with a strained smile at Mars, Klaus remarks, "Always wanted a Seel."

Drowning in his misery from the cold of the ocean, Klaus's magenta-rose eyes are impossibly wide at the sound of someone's voice. "Oh no," Klaus mutters in utmost embarrassment at the thought of someone witnessing his F-grade, one-man pokemon battle, his teeth chattering and gaze falling heavily onto the approaching blonde.

His face a brilliant red, Klaus blinks once at the sight of the offered towel, his hand visibly shaking from the cold as he accepts it; turning politely away from Barnaby for a moment so as to not spray him, Klaus runs a hand through his multicoloured hair, shaking out the excess water, before gratefully wrapping himself up in the towel. "Thanks, that water's freezing."

Klaus then moves to retrieve his phone, the towel around his shoulders used to wipe off the excess water and sand from its case. Flashing Barnaby a shaky smile, the young man extends his hand in greeting as he murmurs, "Klaus. Thanks again for the towel."

With a glance around the area Klaus asks curiously, "What are you doing out here?" Rubbing at his yet-red face with the towel he laughs out, "Hopefully not swimming." He then tucks his phone just inside the waistband of his pants against his skin to get it out of his hands, the towel used to gratefully try off his face and chest.

His face a brilliant scarlet as he stares up at Kazimir, Klaus nods absently along as the man speaks, his gaze unsubtly landing on Kazimir's biceps when he flexes. "Yeah," he murmurs feebly before coughing and rubbing at the back of his neck when he catches back up with the conversation. "Your pokemon trains you? That's..." His voice trails off until he settles on, "Interesting." Wholly awkwardly, he tacks on, "Looks like it's working," before he seems to realise his words and swiftly glances away.

"I - some. I went to Kalos for a semester in college, and I've been around Hoenn. I've got family all over," Klaus chokes out, his throat clearing before he tries to speak again. "Not as much lately. Work. I work at a Lighthouse. The Lilycove one. We usually work for six weeks and then two off, but it always depends, you know? Cause of the weather."

Making a flighty little motion of his hand Klaus manages to ask, "Do you travel often?"

"Come on, Anwhistle," Klaus murmurs as he tosses his pokeball towards the sea, his Lapras manifesting in the nearby water. He pauses to roll up his pant legs to his knees and then steps into the water, a soft gasp spilling from Klaus's lips at its yet-freezing temperature - the weather may be warmer but the sea wouldn't be anything resembling swim able for several months still. Nonetheless, Klaus spares several minutes to scratch the Lapras beneath the chin, his whistling cry joyously filling the air from the attention.

Laughing softly at his pokemon, Klaurs murmurs a warm, "Yes, yes. Let's go," and steps out of the water. He pulls a pair of earbuds from his pockets and unlocks the screen of his phone, music filtering through to entertain him. The pair then mill their way up the beach, the Lilycove Lighthouse at their back, while Klaus occasionally pauses on his walk to bend over and pitch a Krabby into the nearby sea.

His head occasionally bobbing as he throws Krabbys back into the sea, Klaus stops to retrieve more than a few Tirtouga, each sea turtle gently set beside the lapping waves to observe their first steps into the water. His rather peaceful walk, however, is interrupted by a gaggle of Wingull, the airborne pokemon diving at the Tirtouga hatchlings in a rather grim scene all things told.

Huffing, Klaus waves his arms at the flock, scaring several away though not all. Picking up one of the newly relinquished Tirtougas, the young man carefully places it in the seawater while his nearby Lapras snipes at some of the remaining Wingull with well-placed Ice Beams. Wholly oblivious when he rightens himself, Klaus looks up just in time to meet the punishing wings of a rogue Pelipper who slams into him. Yelping at the impact, the action seems to inspire nefarious ideas in the remaining Wingull who follow suit and throttle themselves into Klaus, eventually sending him tumbling into the freezing water.

"Oh my -fuck-," bellows Klaus when he surfaces from the water, the young man scrambling to his feet to rip his phone out of his pocket and throw it onto the dry sand beyond. "Cold, cold, cold," he whines as he scrambles out of the water, followed by an incredulous, "Really?" at the Wingulls who's cries seem entirely too close to laughter at his current predicament.

Teeth chattering and now soaking wet, Klaus ignores the pokemon above as his Lapras takes to sniping them again. Instead, he pulls off his shirt and tries to wring out the seawater from it, his whole body shivering and face red with equal parts anger and embarrassment; the latter surely poised to grow exponentially when he realises his audience.

"Ah," Klaus utters at the news the stranger is familiar with the area. Hell.

The sound of a splash and following question draws Klaus's attention to the water, a confused, "What?" spilling from his lips; a surprised yelp rips from Klaus when the nearby Magikarp leaps out of the water much, much closer than it was a moment ago. The fish pokemon twists in the air, turning fin-over-teakettle to smash squarely into Klaus's face.

"Fuck!" Bellows Klaus in pain, his hands fumbling to his nose now gushing blood; in the scuffle a pokeball loosens itself from his belt and manages to tap against the Magikarp, sending it disappearing into its depths. His expression bewildered as he stares at the pokeball containing his new pokemon, Klaus looks from it to Mars on the boat.

Pinching his nose in an attempt to stem the flow, a miserable noise sounds from Klaus before he asks, sounding wholly stuffy, "Don't suppose you have any gauze on that boat of yours?"
