Following behind Zev as they were lead towards the Chamber of Desires, Nenet allows herself to glance this way and that as they pass through a long hallway. How many people did this prison contain, she wondered as they passed doorway after doorway, and for how long had they been held captive?

Shaken from her thought, she soon finds herself freed from the mask with a look of surprise. A few she recognised (Elisabeth Fiorelli, FERNANDO SILPH, Aurelie Lefevre, THEO BECKETT) - most she didn't. Nonetheless, she looks askance to Zev, nods at his lowly murmured words, and then flashes him an apologetic look. Her face schools into abject indifference.

"I can't seem to get away from you," is what she replies with in turn, her voice louder than Zev's in reply. Unmasked she wouldn't risk the narrative that they had broken up and went their separate ways. It wouldn't do for the League to come sniffing at her door for being chummy with a war criminal in public.

Zev would understand. He had an alternate persona to be in public with her for good reason.

She looks away until the voice of Velmos draws her attention. Brow knitting subtly, a quick glance around the area confirms there's no way for Nenet to refuse looking into the mask chained as she was to the others. So dutifully, she falls in line behind Zev and awaits her turn to peer inside.

There is nothing for a moment, just the blackness of space until soft pinpricks of starlight scatter across the firmament. Her hands moving to work the controls of the spaceship, it's not long before Nenet lands upon a barren landscape, some faraway planet in Ultra Space.

Boots hitting the ground with a puff of dust, she moves swiftly through the heat and humidity to stand underneath an outcropping of the cliffside that rises before her; pushing a pair of goggles onto her head, Nenet kneels onto the ground and watches the magnified proceedings with abject fascination;

There's nothing at first, just some molecules bumping about until something happens and before her very eyes she witnesses it: the spontaneous uprise of life.

The next thing she knows she's pulled roughly back from the mask to allow another to take her place. Is that all she needs? Time and the means to travel through Ultra Space to see the answer to the ultimate question?

Bewildered, Nenet steps away and finds herself led towards scalding showers. Shuddering beneath their warmth, it's not long until she pulls off the clothing shielding her from the water as she adjusts to the temperature. Wordlessly, she places the clothing on the ground and stands pensively beside Zev as she ruminates carefully over the vision from the mask.

"I want to see how much Zev has changed from, for lack of a better term, a normal human," Nenet answers; as she speaks her fingers trace through the slides before her, one eventually chosen after several are held up and measured against the light. "Whether his DNA has been fundamentally altered or something else is the cause, such as a virus, with the onset of his Avatarship."

She looks over as Elisabeth finishes setting up the microscope, and moves to place her sample in the port. As she does, she muses aloud, "I'd like to get a sample of his bone marrow for further testing actually, but the extraction is painful and I'm not qualified myself."

Nenet smiles, and it's warm if professional as her fingers flick on the microscope to begin imaging. Tipping her chin towards where Elisabeth stored her earlier mochi-infected bloodwork she asks as they wait for the machine to finish, "Crystaflower studies, or something else?"

Her wrist captured and her body drawn close to Zev, Nenet hums softly as he murmurs a question into her ear. She turns her hand, wrist still caught, and lightly caresses Zev's cheek before she speaks. "He wanted to know what it was like. I told him that was personal and he tried to persuade me that 'personal' did not exist in Rocket." She snorts once she's finished.

"I'm not concerned," Nenet offers quietly; she leans closer, her hand still on Zev's cheek while she moves to press a soft kiss against his opposite cheek.

Her voice almost impish, she adds against his skin, "I told him to take care. I'm sure you can help him take very good care of himself."

Lunar dust and soil billowed through the air as Lunala thrashed in place, the vampyre's roving eyes and flailing limbs speaking to its determination to break free.

Something stronger? Did she even have a stronger healing move to use. Nenet's hand hovers over her pack before digging into it once more.

"Don't hurt it," Nenet yells across the way to Zev, ensuring they're still on the same page as Shaymin is released from its pokeball. The little hedgehog gives a full-bodied shake, sending up a plume of dust and then peers with uncertainty at Nenet as it receives its command: Healing Wish.

A single star falls from the bloody skies above, its graceful descent ending as it lands on the tip of Shaymin's nose; there's a pause to the world, and then a flood of energy burgeons as Lunala is healed and Shaymin passes into a faint.

"Calm down," Nenet tries, her voice low as she inches closer to Lunala; the Legendary stops its thrashing momentarily. Daring to hope for a moment the Lunala has calmed, it's to everyone's surprise that it suddenly leaps forwards with a renewed vigour, closing the short distance and aided by the heavy Gravity to land just a few feet way from Nenet.

Lunala's head rears back, and with an open maw, shoots a METERO BEAM directly at Nenet.

Sparks flew through the air as Celesteela weathered the Z-Move. The Ultra Beast gave a hapless judder after its scream, its body noticeably scratched and dented in the wake of the attack; iron vines snake out from the Celesteela's arms which plant into the ground as it Ingrains itself into the landscape, attempting to recover some of its energy.

Gasping, Nenet covered her head with her arms to protect herself from flying black shards, and for a fleeting moment she was convinced Necrozma had somehow shattered in the attack. She looks wildly to Zev. Discovering her husband was unharmed, she finally registers the lunar soil is to blame for her panic.

Heal Lunala? Teeth grit, Nenet gives a determined nod and slings her pack off her shoulders to dig through it. She comes up with her Lunatone. The Illuma Pokemon burst from its shell, illuminating the surroundings with a soft violet glow across its pale body.

"Moonlight," Nenet whispers before turning her attention to Lunala.
[break][break]
Gathering her voice, she pleads with the vampyr. "Necrozma won't hurt you! Look! It's still - you're safe." The moonlight intensifies and Lunala seems to falter for a bare moment in confusion as it finds its wounds healing. "We want to help." Study was more like it, but still, it's not enough to convince the Legendary.

Shrieking once more, a violent MOONBLAST tears through the sky towards Zev and the Shard of Necrozma.

There was a moment of stillness in which everything and nothing became one. Lunala spreads its battered wings, its rippling blues and purples the same as the storm-ridden sky, and then it screams.

Detonating like a nuclear bomb, Lunala Ultra Bursts and the sky bleeds around them in oranges and reds; the rain threatening to burst earlier explodes in fiery fallout.

There's no time to confer with one another - only seconds in which to trust both Zev and Nenet have one another's backs. Reaching out, she jerks Zev diagonally to Lunala's attack in an effort to move themselves out of the blast range while Celesteela moves to intercept. The Ultra Beast lifts its mighty arms to take the brunt of the attack, covering its trainer and Zev.

"How do we calm it?" Nenet calls to Zev, hoping for an answer amidst the chaos.

A barely-there narrowing of her eyes signifies Nenet is listening. She understood on some level why Cillian had done what he'd done - it was practical after all - but that hardly meant she appreciated the effort.

"I am not ashamed of my research," she answers levelly. Concern about her ability to continue in the public sphere was a wholly different animal, however.

Her interest was piqued though not discernibly at Cillian's mention of his own background. "Risks in regards to what," she finally asks, her curiosity winning out in place of caution. "What are you testing it on?" Her hands still in her lap as she looks over Cillian pointedly, from head to toe, as if assessing his question's merit.

"Most, not all, of my studies centred around Lunatone and Solrock resistances." There hadn't been much of a resistance at the end of the day but the ability of a Corrosive Pokemon had been something fascinating to behold.

Nenet barely recognised the organic matter even as Gideon pointed it out. Well, he could see to that himself. Instead she collected the soil samples and capped off each glass vial before dutifully tucking it back into the bag for safekeeping.

Nearby she could see one of the.. islands of land? pieces? shifting subtly, and she watched as a few clumps of dirt fell into the abyss around them. As if it wasn't ominous enough, she could not make out a distinct sound of the dirt hitting anything at all. Was it still falling?

The air grew heavy as the worked together, a tense silence befalling the area. Beginning to speak once more, Nenet's eyes widen as she catches sight of what appears to be two glowing red eyes watching them from the distance.

"Gideon-" she mumbles, silencing abruptly.
[break][break]
The ground shakes with some sort of reverberation from deep within the realm. Were they being watched, or was it all a coincidence?

Heart in her throat, she slings the soil samples into the back of the jeep and calls, "I'm done, let's go!"

Zev seemed to recognise one of the other captors but what caught Nenet's attention instead was the warden relieving them from work. Her brow furrowed at once again hearing of the Never-Rot. Was that in connection to the Toxic Chains binding them, or something wholly else that these Pokemon seemed to answer to?

Interrupting her thoughts, she looks towards the screen flickering to life. Her eyebrow arches subtly at the violence that plays out above them, her head nodding in agreement as Zev murmurs in her ear.

A martyr and the self-deluded vie for some sort of moral relief on their consciousness and Nenet hopes they get exactly what they desire. Let them suffer - better yet die - for their misplaced convictions and desperation.

It's time to vote, however, and as Nenet opens her mouth to speak she pauses. Was that jack wainwright's voice coming through the screen? Humming softly, he hesitates for a moment, and then calls clearly, "Weakling ward."

A subtle twist of emotion makes it way onto Nenet's expression, though otherwise she remains icy and rigid; Cillian had no reason to dig so deeply into her background, he simply had.

Forcing herself to move, she places her papers away and asks once she's finished, "What sort of assistance."
