She glared at him for a good second before dragging him in by his color. The action was reward by a sharp bite of static, but she resisted and slammed the door behind him. This was a bad idea, she lived in a metal shell. Sure, the interior had been outfitted into something of a personal gym and personal quarters, but it was still a metal carcass with a electric idiot now apart of it.

"Explain. Now." She spun around, gesturing idly to a ratty old couch.

"Devastating, but not bad per say." She smirked, enjoy the smoky taste of the whiskey on her tongue. She was often neglect to include anyone else in her privacy. Though, as a habit of Rocket idiots, that didn't last long. Luckily, Lulu didn't seem to fit into the nincompoop category.

"What's the saying? Time flies when you're having fun, but not in Rocket." She snorted. Time certainly hadn't flown by for her, but the years had dragged. She always felt older than herself, slowly falling apart. A decrepit, mean old bitch.

"Yeah, About a year as a beast," Marza shrugged. She didn't know what to think about it and certainly didn't think it would stick for long. Leadership of any kind didn't run in her, but she could be a behemoth for their cause if they wished it. "My dad was in Rocket, so I kind of fell into it. Not really a choice in the matter."

"Don't give me that look, Cross." She grumbled, though her voice was less aggitated and more tired. The last person she wanted grievance and pity from was jayden cross. Just because they were something akin to friends didn't mean she was looking for a therapist out of it. Though she was hesitant to call anyone her friend. It felt like a waste of time and effort, a temporary thing. This strange home she'd found in Rocket was illusory and she needed to remember that before she was cut down for it.

"Of course there are." She muttered, examining the contents. There had never been a time she thought to leave, but there had also never been an option. It'd be like cutting the wings off a corviknight, difficult and noisy.

"Good," She said, turning to eye the jewel in hand. It appeared to be as entailed in the mission instructions. It did amaze her how people went crazy over a hunk of shiny rock. They were worse than her Corviknight, plucking up anything shiny enough to steal their attention.

"Let's blow this joint." Though she was at least somewhat impressed by the kid's stealth. He'd prove to be a valuable addition to Rockets. Even if he looked not more than a damn toothpick. To each their own. Rocket would be a damn mess if it was just made out of people like her.

With the way cleared for them, their escape would prove uncontested.

Stealth might not have been in her nature, but she wasn't entirely incapable of it. It did require some level of adaptability to get where she was as Rocket Beast. Granted, who the hell knew how long she'd be able to hang on to that title. There were plenty of others that would lovingly rip it out of her cold, dead hands.

The second guard was clearly a new guy, as he still gave way too many shits about the job. His nerves jumped, hands dropping to the taser at his belt with every fright. They needed to do some training around here, obviously. If this was the best they could get.

Rolling her eyes, she decided not to make a bigger deal out of this mission than it already had become. Instead, she released toxicroak, which darted forward with enough speed that the guard didn't even see it coming. A quick venoshock and the guard dropped to the ground in a twitchy mess. Whether he'd survive it or not, was hardly her concern. Survival of the strong and all that shit.

Marza smirked at that, "They won't hear it from me." She wasn't the chatty sort anyways, at least not typically. Drink had a slight way of easing her up. Just enough that her uncomfortable silence didn't drive people away in great droves. It was easier with fern delaney, who did most of the talking (as annoying as that was). Things had changed a lot since that idiot joined Rocket and unfortunately she had changed too.

No, she nearly said. It was as instinctual as breathing, as reaching out for a glass of whiskey to function rather than work through her shit sober. Instead, she paused before shrugging. In truth, she didn't mind the company.

"Sure." She motioned at the seat, taking another sip. "You've been in Rocket a long time, right? I only know you by reputation."

She was not, in fact, ever planning on seeing a doctor. Especially not for something minor. Even in the past, when she'd felt the bony fingertips of death coaxing her over the edge, she'd had rather gone without a doctor. It was usually through force that she occupied any hospital space. It might have benefited her to have a pokemon capable of healing, but that would be seen as a thorough waste of a good fighter.

Marza wanted to ask her why, though she already had countless times so far. Mei could answer her a million different ways and it would do little to clear up the confusion. She was all blunted edges and uncomfortable ends. It wasn't like she was under some illusion that Mei wanted someone that wasn't exactly like that, she wasn't exactly the type of scream pillow princess to her. Even then, she couldn't help but wonder if it was some cruel joke in the end. That fear of pain, there was nothing more potent.

Mei drew closer. And then closer still. Admittedly, Marza felt her breath stifle. She felt something like anticipation stir under her skin and she didn't pull away. She didn't resist her, there was no point in pretending anymore. There never had been a point in that. The kiss wasn't soft nor subdued. Mei didn't seem inherently powerful (not physically), but she did right then. Marza froze for a moment, a hundred thoughts flashing through her mind before she softened. And then, reciprocated. She doubted that Mei wanted her for any softness, she had none. Even then, she was amazed to find that her own reaction wasn't as a brute. It wasn't soft or even careful, but it wasn't meaningless hunger.

Her hands slipped around the slight of the woman's waist, over soft curve and up the ridges of her spine. The tips of her fingers dragged, digging in to her curves. The smell of her, the taste of her. She was beautiful. Every part of her.

She could see the lines of tension in his body language. A small smirk slipped momentarily across her lips. It appeared she was working with a newbie, though that was hardly the first time. She wasn't what people would consider patient, but she wasn't an awful teacher.

"Huh, well let's hope that sea water runs through your veins too." She didn't have time to teach anyone from scratch. In all hopefulness, she figured this would be a fairly routine run. It would be boring as hell, but a quick job. That was better than nothing. "Marza." She said simply in return.

"Should be relatively simple." Then again, that was what she'd say seconds before things derailed. The boat shuddered as they pushed off of port and into the open sea. The sky was clear, save for a few sparse clouds. No threat of storms, at least. She got a bad feeling, but didn't nurse it. It was probably just paranoia, sailor superstition.
