It seems like they were able to recover the stone after all. Yet, upon examining it, this wasn't a mega stone per say. It was an odd rock, with varying lines and pits. Just what manner of stone could this be? While it didn't seem to be enough to extinguish the portal, it did stop the sky phenomenon that struck them. Tsubasa proceeded to put the stone in his pocket, for later research. As he pulled his hand out...[break][break]

A goddamn Croconaw. The reptile was chomping down on his hand, hard. Not wanting to let go. As the trainer let out a few swears mixed with a shout of pain, the Reuniclus charged the water pokemon, forcing it off the scientist's hand. One could say that it was karma for hitting the others with the two Tri-Attacks from earlier.[break][break]

Suddenly, while the man was bandaging his wounded hand, the councilman kim cole-essam grabbed him by the collar, dragging him towards the portal and pointing at it. Instantly, the Porygons and the Reuniclus converged towards the trainer, but the scientist did a hand signal to stop them from getting violent. With his free hand, he removed the councilman's hand from his collar, straightening it before pushing his glasses back in place.[break][break]

"If you hadn't been so prone to destruction, we may not be in this situation. Nonetheless, seeing how it stayed active, I can see three possibilities. 1, the portal is being supplied from the other side, so we would need to cross the gate and destroy it on the other side. 2, one of those beasts, or the enemy general, is supplying energy remotely to this portal. The final option... It would be akin to the Schwartz Incident, during new year. I believe some reports said that the man had opened the portal, but was unable to close it since it was hijacked. This might be the case here. Something else might have taken hold of the portal. Of course, we could also consider the possibility of the portal feeding itself on the environment to stay active, or it's using its remaining energy and will close by itself, but this sounds unli-"[break][break]

Before the man could finish his theories, someone proceeded to jump on the scientist, making them fall on the ground. Why would that be happening right now, of all times? Were they all dumb and only acted on emotions? A payback to the stray tri-attacks? One of the Porygons was also being attacked. Tsubasa proceeded to try and kick the man off him while shouting an order to his team. "Counter-attack!"[break][break]

The Reuniclus' eyes lit up as it proceeded to use Psystrike to force Atlan off his trainer. The Porygon (00), feeling the grasp of Psychic upon it, emitted a strange noise to signal to the other Porygon (02). Upon seeing his ally get struck, 02 proceeded to shoot a Signal Beam at the source of the psychic attack: the Hattrem. 00, meanwhile, proceeded to Recover from the damage it just received. As for the Dewgong that had watched from the sideline, she decided to jump into the fray, unleashing Sheer Cold at any nearby target, hoping the cold would help cool down some of the crazy ones.

The seeds were exploding, their vines erupting from their shell. Where most people would be scared, horrified or running for dear life, Tsubasa was showing a smile filled with curiosity. "Fascinating. Frost, interrupt one of those seeds and bring it to me.". The Dewgong nodded at his master's odd request, firing Ice Shards upon the path to cancel the explosion of the seeds and possibly even freeze them. Doing so allowed the scientist to collect one and stash it in his side pouch.[break][break]

The group continued their progress through the forest, ignoring the Megalopolans that might sight them. They had one target in mind: reaching the portal that could be gazed at from a distance. And reaching it they did. At the same time as one of the councilman and a no name trainer.[break][break]

While said nameless trainer began to attack the megalopolans, Tsubasa disembarked his Porygon. As he raised his head, he heard kim cole-essam shout orders to destroy the machine, making the scientist panic slightly as he raised a hand to try and stop the man. "WAIT!... Damn it. CELL! SNATCH THE STONE FROM THE MACHINE BEFORE IT'S LOST!"[break][break]

The Reuniclus' eyes shone brightly as it used its psychic powers, extending invisible hands to try and remove the stone from the machine, to give it to the scientist. An uncommon way to use Snatch. But in the end, was it not stealing something benefic to the aliens? Thus, it should technically work... right?[break][break]

"00, 02. Clear them out." Tsubasa sounded slightly mad. If that attacked had prevented him from getting anything worthwhile, then he would've came here for no reasons. Feeling their owner's anger, the two porygons both decided to use Tri-Attack to try and clear everyone out. Of course, while the main targets remained the Megalopolans, the league members might still be struck. A regrettable casualty, which the man didn't care about.

For once, the League had remembered they had more then two scientists working for them. Instead of Lucas Lane and Illeana Reyes, they had requested someone more... obscure. Less known to the populace. Someone like Tsubasa would be considered as ideal for a mission involving science experiments, right?[break][break]

Needless to say, he himself was intrigued by what they could find. As someone who studied pokemon genetics, the research logs of this rogue team would be something quite interesting for Tsubasa. Maybe it would even help him further his own researches. The only downside is that he had to babysit someone else from the league.[break][break]

As the lady tried to force the door, stating it was indeed not moving, Tsubasa sighed. "You know that, if we force the door open, they're just going to delete their research and try to escape? It'd be better if we entered through another entrance, like a window or the rooftop. Or a door with an electric lock. I could send 00 in to override it." No matter what, he wished to conserve the logs intact, to see how far they had gone.

The capture had failed. Wether by the attacks or whatever turned them in this state, the transformed dragons were now dead. A shame. They would've been a good test subject for some experimentation. But there would be more opportunities to get something out of this, namely with the Ultra Beasts roaming around. And that open portal.[break][break]

Tsubasa recalled the Dewgong. Only the Reuniclus and the Porygon the scientist was riding on remained. The galarian man looked to the left, where a wormhole could be seen. Since most individuals seemed inclined to go up the mountain... Why not head for the wormhole?[break][break]

"00, head towards the woods, pass by the edge of the mountains if needed." The Porygon nodded as it began to advance, Reuniclus holding to his master. The second Porygon tried to tag along as best as it could. As the team reached one of ridges that formed the mountain, a rain of leech seed started to fall. The face of the scientist became slightly twisted in a frown.[break][break]

"02, Magic Coat. Cell, Guard us with your Magic Guard and your Psyshock." As the second Porygon erected a Magic Coat to protect the team, The Reuniclus positioned itself Before his master, expanding his Magic Guard as best as possible and using Psyshock to push the falling Leech Seeds out of the way. In the meantime, the transporting porygon used Recover to help it sustain the damage from Shadow Sky.

Not only did the future sight seem to have failed, the electric sad noise emitted by Code 00 seemed to indicate that the creature couldn't localize the source of the sound. Nonetheless, this was a calculated failure. It was through experimenting and failing that science advanced, and so does life.[break][break]

Seeing the wall of flame vanish was a sign to finally move forward. As it dissipated, the scientist called the Dewgong back into its pokeball and started to move forward, following Stormy Silph 's group from a distance. But when the rocks started to fall... The man sighed and called out his other porygon. "What a waste of time. Cell, 02. The usual."[break][break]

The newly summoned porygon and Reuniclus moved forward, using signal beam and psyshock respectively to help destroy or push the rocks away. "00, rise up. I want to close in on one of these odd charizards." Upon receiving his order, the remaining Porybon used Magnet Rise to rise higher over the ground.[break][break]

The scientist hooked himself onto the data creature's back and they began to advance towards the Shadow Mega Charizard that mateo martinez had assaulted. It looked weakened enough, especially from the attacks that the little girl and her team. Tsubasa called the Dewgong once more. "Ice Shard" As another rain of ice emerged from the sea creatures vicinity, the league scientist threw one of his pokeballs, hoping to capture the Shadow pokemon. As the pokeball is thrown, Reuniclus and the other Porygon catches up to them.

"Odd." As the man arrived on the scene, he couldn't help but note the "avatars" using their powers so openly. Perhaps due to the war, they decided to discard their secrecy? The ranger head especially, going so far as to shoot ice beams from his hands, like an x-men of sort.[break][break]

But what struck the scientist as being odd is the lack of focus on the aerial strikers, as well as that weird buzzing noise around them. A sprinting noise even. Was he hearing it because he was farther then the others, thus not directly in battle? Perhaps. But that is a concern best left for later. Right now, the noise had grabbed Tsubasa's curiosity.[break][break]

The man threw the dangling part of his scarf behind him and reached within the pouch on the side of his belt, grabbing three pokeballs within it. "Let's begin the experiment." Upon these words, he proceeded to drop the pokeballs before him, allowing the Reuniclus, Dewgong and a Porygon to emerge.[break][break]

"Cell, gaze upon our future and be ready to intervene. 01, target those Salamences. Bring them down. Code 00, lock-on the source of that noise and relay the display to my Silph Pad. We need to be ready." Upon issuing those orders, the scientist calmly grabbed a tablet that was hanging on his left hip, and booted it to be able to receive display from the Porygon's action.[break][break]

Once all commands were stated, the team began to move. Reuniclus moved in front of Tsubasa, eyes closed and arms extended as it used Future Sight. The Dewgong jumped forward upon the hard ground before launching Ice Shards at the flying Salamences, hoping to strike them heavily before any danger. As for Porygon, he attempted to Lock-On the source of the sprinting noise, preparing to Download the feed upon his master's tablet.
