They go from an ugly eiscue to an ugly tentacool, and that puts things in perspective for Erin. "You can scare it off if you want," she tells the gengar. Still, it's a no from her on catching. She continues, letting Mars have whatever fun he wants before returning to her side.

This next one, Erin has to consider for a moment. It emerges from the water, makes a small pirouette and softly lands on the river bank. Truly worthy of its title as mirage pokémon. It's no shiny dratini, this one, but it's a dratini nonetheless. And already it looks easier to train than the dragonair she already owns. Erin nods in her gengar's direction.

The gengar's grin widens. The taunt is followed by a shadow ball, since Erin's "Don't hurt it" discards the idea of a punch. It'd just be left disoriented and momentarily blinded for his trainer to throw a pokéball at it.

The sunkern would come to remember the moment it decided to jump in front of Erin's moving feet as the worst mistake it'd ever done in its life. She trips, and is very close to falling on her face if not for her gengar's intervention. "Thank you," she sighs in his ear. He's by her side until she gets back on her feet, but the sunkern would not have the luck of someone to help it.

That's not entirely true, actually. They may both have been born from a deep desire of revenge, but there's a blue tinge to the smog surrounding the gastly, and a lighter violet on its body. Both hints of its shiny coloration. Just what she was looking for. If she were to mega evolve this girl, she'd be white as starch, unlike her own gengar.

Erin hasn't always been fond of the gengar (then gastly) she keeps as company today, but the sight makes her feel nostalgic.

"Come here, pretty girl," she calls, extending a hand towards the shiny gastly. The chill is welcome, and the sweet aroma of its gaseous form brings her back to half a decade prior, to when she was still blissful in her innocent. Her intention had been to catch her all along, but after this it's only reaffirmed further. The empty safari ball awaits her. "Aren't you just sweet?"

Another normie. Already she regrets turning in its direction. The scatterbug she stumbles upon next is simple and boring. Then again, she supposes even the shiny version is simple and boring. Erin turns her gaze away as if there had been nothing at all in the space the scatterbug took.
