Bailey chomped into her unwrapped burrito, hissing and breathing in a pained silence as she chewed through its molten contents.[break][break]

Tin foil folded over her fingers, paper wrapping askew, she was thankful that her lunch was so well wrapped. It kept her next bite from spilling the hot, melted cheese into her lap. “Hot, hot, hot,” she'd breath from her seat on a abandoned steel railing.[break][break]

Bumbo, her fire type, could only shake his head in dismay as his trainer continued to torture herself.[break][break]

She was too hungry to wait for it to cool.

His meeting was over, his report filed and secured properly so there was nothing else left to do in the day outside of enjoying it in peace. When that thought came to mind the man let out a deep sigh of relief, running a hand through his hair shortly after. Now he’d just have to find something to preoccupy his time with.

He checked his watch; it was still relatively early all things considered so there wasn’t any rush. He wasn’t sure when the last time he ate was, so food sounded nice and he could smell something good nearby.

The source was coming from a bit down the path he was walking, a woman and her Pokémon, and what looked like a tasty burrito.

He was walking up and about to ask where she got it from when she then took a bite out of it and from the steam coming off of it there was no way it wasn’t piping hot. And her reaction was just what he expected, and much like the woman's pokemon he shook his head.

”Hey excuse me!” He called out with a wave as he approached. Once he realized who it was he paused for a split second before continuing.

"Hi there, my name's Lucien and I was wondering where it is you got that. Haven't really eaten all day and I'm starving! Though are you alright? That looked really hot!"

She mowed through her bite, proceeding to the next chomp; this continued, despite the presence of someone standing before her.[break][break]

Mouth full, Bailey chose to point her finger to the distant food truck, grunting through the pain of her bite. “Over there,” was the only manageable sentence she could utter, and that came after she gulped down her bite with a fiendish appetite.[break][break]

“Better catch 'em before they drive off, uh... Lucy?” That was not his name.[break][break]

Instead of correcting herself, she opted for another large bite.

”Oh shit, thanks!” He’d make a dash for the truck but they drove off before he could reach them.

Samuel hung his head in shame and walked back to Bailey, eyeing her food.

”Hey you wouldn’t mind sharing some of that with me would you?” He was desperate since he hadn’t had anything to eat today and would really just take a piece from the other end of it he didn’t care.

She almost choked as the truck drove off, finding humor in the man's failed attempt to buy lunch.[break][break]

Bailey had to chug from from water bottle just to try and clear her throat, laughing as he came trotting back like a pokemon denied a pokeblock. “Fuck, tough break,” and she would have resumed eating, if his next question had not given her a reason to pause.[break][break]

A younger Bailey Cooper would have told him to hit the road; but, she had grown, and the pitiful expression was enough for her to extend mercy.[break][break]

“Ugh, fine,” and she would pinch with her fingers to try and neatly split apart the burrito into two halves. “Asshole. The bottom is the best part,” because that was where all the juice was.[break][break]

She extended that portion to him, while she tried to keep her half from dripping onto her.[break][break]

In the distance, she could see a Luxio hungrily looking for a snack. When it looked at her with its tail raised, she could sense that it would be willing to fight for its own share.[break][break]

She deployed her Toxicroak. “Sprig, use poison jab.”[break][break]

And as the scuffle unfolded, she would take another bite before tossing an empty pokeball at the injured electric-type.[break][break]

”Oh my savior! Thank you!” Lunch was saved! He began to eat as Bailey dealt with one of the wild Pokémon that was nearby.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t anything big and scary, he wanted to see how she operated but he wasn’t going to glean much from a complete beat down that took literally no effort or her part.

He wasn’t paying much mind to the taste of the food but its flavor suddenly hit him, causing him to look down at it and nod. This was pretty good after all, he’d have to remember next time to not miss it.

”Another win for one of Hoenn’s Heroes!” He’d exclaim, shortly after imitating the sound of a cheering crowd.

”The crowd absolutely loves it. Now I would’ve preferred a bit more drama a back and forth but hey I’m not one to really complain about free lunch and show. Oh and again thank you very much for that, it’s pretty good.” He smiled, finishing the last bits of his food.

”So how does it feel to be one of Hoenn’s shining beacons of strength and hope?”
