[break][break]

When two musicians at the Pokemon Musical Theatre in Nimbasa City, Unova, were expected to have a child, their fellow orchestra, as well as the violinist and cellist themselves, couldn't have been happier. The two had fallen deeply in love years before in their common passion for music, and while that passion had been their first and only, when the two discovered that they shared that passion, their love for music grew into their love for each other, a bond that was made from the perfect symphony.

[break][break]

The couple spent the allotted months preparing for the newest harmony to their already classic musical life, a furnished room for the expected little boy, a play room, the usual, and every night before the couple would go to sleep, the two would spend a little time every night playing away on their respective instruments, the wife her piano and the husband his cello, hoping to fill their son with a deep love and interest in music like they had come to know in their lives.

[break][break]

Months later, as expected, a brand new baby boy was born in Nimbasa City on a June eleventh, and while the first few months of Tadashi’s birth were filled with joy and happiness, and of course music, his parents couldn't help but feel like something was wrong with their baby when they felt like he couldn't see right. Even if something was going on around him, he would only stare in one direction, and despite thinking his eyes were very lightly colored and not fully developed, upon taking him back to the hospital he had been born at, Tadashi was then pronounced blind.

[break][break]

Even for a pair of musicians, the news that their son would never be able to truly indulge in the world around him, not be able to see the most basic of things and learn the way he was supposed to was devastating. It ruined any chances they might have had in teaching him how to play music like they had learned in their lives, one day coming to join the orchestra that they considered their own family, but despite all the realizations that came with having a now handicapped child, they were not about to spare him anything as far as their music went, finding it even more pertinent in his younger life since he could at least hear the music they played.

[break][break]

They played regularly for him in his early development, all the time when he had first been born, through his early months and into his crawling stages. When it came time for him to start learning how to move around the house, the couple was mortified at what might happen because he couldn't see, and it was then that the overprotective manner that took over their lives with Tadashi came into play. Play pens were almost always mandatory for Tadashi to be in, secured so he couldn't knock it over, special toys that didn't have any sharp protrusions or otherwise normal baby toys, nothing that could harm him, and most of the time too, that meant Pokemon. Anyone that came over to the house was bid to leave their Pokemon at home if they had any, and while the couple had always wanted to take their son to the theatre in order to start building his love for the profession they had, that was out of the question because of all the Pokemon that were around.

[break][break]

This continued well into when Tadashi had started to walk and talk, and while he couldn't see, it never bothered him much, especially when his parents played their music. They found Tadashi much more responsive, active, and overall happier when their music was playing, whether it be a recording of an old show, or even the radio or the TV. Sometimes, when there was no music, Tadashi wouldn't move at all, wouldn't stand up or anything. His parents found this odd, and wondered why this was so, until one day in a lapse of judgement for them both, they had both left Tadashi unattended in his room. His mother was in the kitchen making lunch and his father had been in their music room going over some old symphonies before he walked out of the room with the music flowing through their house, finding Tadashi walking down the hallway and into the kitchen to ask his mother for a glass of water, like he could see where he was going. He was able to turn the corner out of his room, walk down the hallway without hitting any walls, make his way across the living room without hitting any furniture, and was able to locate his mother in the kitchen. The couple was astonished by this, unable to fathom how it was humanly possible, but when the tapes and music in the music room stopped playing, Tadashi sat down and refused to move afterwards, claiming that he couldn't see.

[break][break]

By the age of six Tadashi was able to explain to his parents, the best that he could, that when the music was playing, he saw shapes and things moving. But when the music wasn't playing, everything was dark and he couldn't see anything again. Unable to fathom what it was that he was really trying to explain, Tadashi was brought to a doctor to try and help figure things out, who, under a series of tests on the young boy, was able to determine that Tadashi's sense of hearing had been so developed and so overtly used in his early development before and after birth, that seeing wasn't necessary because he could hear the sound waves moving through the air so well, that it was like an advanced case of echolocation developed for a human.

[break][break]

Years later, Tadashi's parents worked with him constantly and consistently in order to keep his sense of hearing sharp with music, overjoyed and elated that the power of music was able to help their son in his disability. While he would never truly be able to see anything like colors or defined characteristics, the fact that he wouldn't be completely helpless in his life was enough to give his parents a new respect for their passion. Over those years, Tadashi came to learn how to play his mother's chosen instrument of the piano, likewise a few other instruments in his abundant spare time, and was given a bell that he could use to his advantage, being able to ring it when he needed to see in order to move around their house. While it was fine for a time in his growing up, Tadashi was starting to get unruly and unsettled just being around the house, being home schooled, hardly ever being able to go out into the outside world to experience things he hadn't yet. It was with reluctance that his parents knew that they couldn't keep him from the outside world for his entire life, and so they started to take him out into Nimbasa City, under close watch, to let him experience their home city.

[break][break]

They only went so far as to take him to their theatre where they performed, but it was quickly that Tadashi realized that his 'disability' was something that always gave him different attention from everyone else. He always got sympathy, even if it was more directed at his parents at the time, apologizing for his lack of normality and the fact that he wouldn't be able to amount to much without the most basic necessity in life. While at first it took a bit for Tadashi to understand, it wasn't long before he regarded sympathy in a negative way, always wanting to prove that just because he couldn't see, didn't mean that he couldn't 'see'. In fact, being out and about in the hustle and bustle of the city setting, all the noise, the talking, even the wind and all the natural noises around him, Tadashi found himself able to 'see' more and more the harder he focused. Every sound vibration aided in his sight, and while he had to cover his ears sometimes when there was too much noise and he wasn't able to differentiate the vibrations, he knew that he was far from being disabled in the world around him, he just needed to be able to get that through to his parents.

[break][break]

Through his trips into the city, Tadashi had always been interested in the non human shapes and figures that he could 'see' and hear moving through the streets, some much larger than that of a human like his mother, or some much smaller than anything he could have fathomed. Upon being asked what these things were, Tadashi's parents tried their best to explain Pokemon to him, having never really been exposed to them much, but didn't want to get him too fascinated with them in fear that he could be hurt by them.

[break][break]

Having been told about these creatures that shared the world with him, just the pure fascination of it was all he needed to try and obtain any and all information on them that he could. Just the sheer fact that they were from the outside world, all around him, and he hadn't had a single idea was less than pleasing to him, but that wasn't going to stop him from delving into Pokemon just like he had with music, wanting to learn as much about them as he could. He begged his parents to let him start being around Pokemon, to just listen to them and 'see' them walking around, and while he was met with reluctance, he was brought on more and more frequent trips to the theatre that his parents performed at in order to let him start interacting with Pokemon.

[break][break]

Just a few months later Tadashi was presented with his own Pokemon, a young, newly trained Jolteon that had been born from a litter Eevee from a breeder that was one of their fellow orchestra members. It took a lot of convincing from Tadashi for his parents to give him his own Pokemon, and a lot of discussion with each other, but they figured that the creature would be one of the best options for him, for it could act as his guide as it grew older and was trained, being able to help him around when they couldn't. So it was, the two grew together still, and Tadashi had his very own seeing eye Jolteon that he affectionately named Cassio. While an Eevee would have been just fine, Tadashi's parents wanted to ensure that he could be protected if he ever got separated from them, so it was with a lot of discussion that they settled on one of the young Eevee pups that had chosen to become a Jolteon. He was still young, and ripe for learning, so he was taught and trained with everything that Tadashi might need, how to be called, how to handle wearing a leash and a bag if need be, even being able to differentiate colors to help Tadashi dress himself. He had been trained very well for Tadashi in order to be effective for him, and with the bell on his collar and a leash that Tadashi could hold onto, Cassio proved to be the perfect fit for Tadashi's life since he didn't have any other companions really. In being introduced to the outside world, Tadashi found it hard to make friends because he was blind, sometimes being regarded as a freak because his eyes were almost colorless, just pale, faint blue irises and a blank pupil, and was often made fun of and teased because he couldn't see like they couldn't and didn't even know what colors were.

[break][break]

While he had Cassio now, a great companion that he had come to love, going into his preteen years, Tadashi was starting to get more and more tired of still being referred to as and treated as blind even though he didn't consider himself as such. Privileges were still held from him, like going on that of a Pokemon journey like he had started to hear so much about in the coming age of most beginning trainers, and being denied meeting and having more Pokemon to call his own. The next few years of denial and sheltering for him started to take a heavy toll and soon lead to him making all the preparations he could think of to do the unthinkable. Running away.

[break][break]

He'd paid particularly close attention to the tradition of going to a Pokemon Professor in order to obtain a starter Pokemon, a Pokemon with which was necessary to start one's journey, and while he knew he would have Cassio with him through thick and thin, he didn't want to be spared anything in the normal experience of becoming a trainer, even if that meant going into the Pokemon world, excuse the pun, blindly. He hardly knew anything of these creatures he shared the world with, let alone how to effectively battle since Cassio hadn't been trained for that, but regardless, that wasn't going to stop him. He wanted to live, wanted to learn, wanted to experience everything that he had been missing out on. He wanted to prove to his parents that he wasn't something that needed to be harbored away from the world, and to do that, he felt like he had to go to the extreme.

[break][break]

With heavy reluctance, but ambition that outweighed it, Tadashi set out with Cassio at his side, knowing the closest Pokemon Professor was in his own region in Nuvema Town. Taking anything he knew he might need, the basic necessities, a whole bag of bells he had collected, and hoping to learn on the way, he left his home and headed towards what he hoped would be a bright future for him, even if he would never be able to see the colors of it.
