The safari zone this time of year as flooded with a thick and seemingly endless mist. While many were too frightened to explore the labyrinth that the forest had become, however, Leon seemed all too eager to get lost. This was his perfect weather for hunting. He had to give the prey a chance, after all![break][break]

Ardere, on the other hand, huffed. It was too cold. And she was put on arson watch, so she was compelled to hold back her flames. But surely Leon would make an exception if they found another pokémon and battled...[break]

A trickster in the misty wood. Ardere would have none of it. She chased the little demon on all fours as it swung from branch to branch, entering tree holes and exiting from bushes nearby. It knew the safari zone like the back of its hand.[break][break]

Angrily, the Typhlosion fired a SWIFT, trusting the stars to hone in on their targets without fail. She stopped to hear its cries of pain... but heard nothing. It seemed her stars had only served to chase it away.[break]

In the muddy banks of an emptied river, there was a rock. Leon had chosen to kick this rock, as hard as he could, just because he felt like it. And it soared farther than even he had imagined it would, finally hitting the ground again several meters away with a dull thud. As the pair, Typhlosion and trainer, walked away, they failed to notice this rock come alive.[break][break]

Before the Galarian Corsola could fully manifest itself and haunt its aggressor, however, they were gone.[break]

Firewood, firewood, firewood! If the Phantump didn't have a GRUDGE for this wild pair, it certainly did now. The tips of its branches were either alight or terribly singed as it quickly hovered away from the vicious Typhlosion chasing it. The smoke trail it left behind, like some sort of cheap candle, was far too easy for Leon to track.[break][break]

So easy, in fact, that within moments he decided to call this little cat-and-mouse game off. Bigger fish to fry out here![break]

The little MAGICIAN attempted to push the pair away with a HEAT WAVE as they scaled the side of the hill. Taking cover behind a tree that was slowly being eaten away by the heat, Leon snickered and whistled to catch his Typhlosion's attention. "Roll 'er out, girl!" He commanded, prompting the beast to charge forward against the wave.[break][break]

Her anger and determination only fueled by the attack, it wasn't long before Ardere flattened the fox with a ROLLOUT. They left it there afterwards. It wasn't worth a capture.[break]

"Here, kitty-kitty... I got a treat for ya." Leonidas coos, cocking his tranquilizer rifle as Ardere scouts ahead. The cat is clever; crafty, even. And a bit of a PRANKSTER, at that. But the scorched earth behind them has changed things. Or, at least, Leon is willing to bet as much.[break][break]

There's a screech in the night. Ardere has found their trickster. But she hasn't given Leon the chance to do anything about it himself.[break]

A lone Shuppet waded through the mist effortlessly, disappearing in the blink of an eye before reappearing in a completely different location. Its combination of SHADOW SNEAK, FEINT ATTACK, and PHANTOM FORCE made it a slippery target to catch. In the end, however, Ardere gave up on her effort. But not before unleashing a ferocious ERUPTION, scorching a large radius of the mist away and lighting trees ablaze.[break][break]

The Shuppet didn't show again after that.[break]
