Novak hung around in the woods of Petalburg.

There was no better word for it. He was loitering. He really wasn't doing anything else, though if he was asked, he'd say that he was getting some fresh air. He supposed that if some Pokemon came by that caught his interest, then he could say that he was observing wildlife. But for now... yep. Loitering.

Foxglove hovered behind Novak, the Haunter's gaseous body floating several feet above the ground. He had his own entertainment. He would often phase through random Pokemon just to scare them, laughing hysterically when they panicked. Oh well. It wasn't harmful, anyways.

Novak squinted at the Roselia that pushed its way through the bushes. Were those flowers... purple and black?

It took him a second to understand what was going on. A shiny. Of course. They were rare, but he could recognize one when he saw one. The Roselia seemed to be minding its own business.

Before Novak could ponder more about the shiny, Foxglove appeared right behind it and startled it with a Shadow Punch. The Roselia screamed and attempted to flee, but a Mean Look halted it in its tracks. Another series of Shadow Balls knocked it out.

Novak shrugged. He was sure he could find someone who would be interested in the shiny, he thought as he threw a Pokeball at the defeated Roselia.
